Let's face it, for months and months there have been rumors about the Israelis readying for a strike on Iran's nuclear facilities - mostly because it would be the right thing to do and it's obvious that western European countries and the new U.S. President are completely spineless. But new report leaked out of Egypt hints at the fact that the attack on Iran by Israel might not be what has been perceived by an aerial bombing of Iran's nuke facilities.
From the report at DEBKA:
Now, since there has been many rumors of an impending attack for many months, the reason I am giving this some credence is because the "reports" of such have been popping up pretty fast and furious and at the same time, we have seen the Iranians step up their bravato - ususally a sign that they are getting nervous.
But if there's one thing I've learned about the Israelis, it is not to make any assumptions and if they indeed were to strike Iran, it will take everyone by surprise - both by method and timing.
Let's just hope it does and at the same time, let's hope that Barack Hussein Obama does the right thing in the aftermath and commits to Israel's assistance.

but Egyptian military sources have put out information purporting to outline Israel's preparations to strike Iran. They report that the Israeli Navy together with the US Fifth Fleet have for some weeks been charting Persian Gulf waters and Iranian shorelines in preparation for attacks by Israeli naval and special operations forces. Now, I don't believe this crap about Saudi Arabia being all up in arms about these reports - the fact of the matter is that Saudi Arabia would LOVE to see Iran flattened and the Shiite Persians finally put in their place.
IDF intelligence and special forces officers, they also say, have been marking out routes for their air and ground forces to drive into Iran and hit its nuclear installations. According to these Egyptian sources, Saudi Arabia has demanded clarifications from Washington about reported US-assisted Israeli preparations to strike Iran and asks why they were not brought to the notice of Riyadh and the Gulf Arab governments.

Egyptian sources: Israel prepares to strike Iran from Gulf and N. Iraq
Arab voices were fanning Middle East war fever Wednesday night, Feb. 3. debkafile's military sources report that not only are Syrian leaders beating war drums - Syrian foreign minister Walid Muallem said in Damascus: "Israelis, do not test the power of Syria since you know the war will move into your cities" - but Egyptian military sources have put out information purporting to outline Israel's preparations to strike Iran. They report that the Israeli Navy together with the US Fifth Fleet have for some weeks been charting Persian Gulf waters and Iranian shorelines in preparation for attacks by Israeli naval and special operations forces.

According to these Egyptian sources, Saudi Arabia has demanded clarifications from Washington about reported US-assisted Israeli preparations to strike Iran and asks why they were not brought to the notice of Riyadh and the Gulf Arab governments. The Saudis added that several Gulf intelligence and naval units had tracked Israeli movements and gathered documentary evidence. Some of this information was leaked in Cairo Wednesday night to Shorouk, a publication which Egyptian intelligence often uses as an outlet for information held to be credible.Shorouk was first out with the story of the Israeli Air Force attack on Iranian arms convoys in Sudan in January 2009.

Israel can fight their own battles just fine- they should not expect or need anything more from the American people.
Anonymous,
Disagree, wholeheartedly. Israel is an ally and has been since that country was founded - there's a bond between our two countries and in any ally situation, you watch the other's back.
Iran poses an immediate threat to the security of Israel while Iran poses a longer range threat to the U.S.
I'm assuming you have friends, anonymous and if one of those friends is in trouble, you'd be willing to do anything to help that friend. What is the difference here? If your reference is to $$$ aid than that is even bigger bullshit as it is apparent that the American people are more than willing to throw their money down a rat hole of entitlement programs here in America and we're willing to fund terror groups like Hamas with "aid."
Israel is our friend, some might say part of the family. And real people stand up for their friends and don't shirk from their conscience.
