Terror Alert In Pakistan - Suicide Car Bombers Sent To Islamabad

Sometimes I run across a story that just makes me scratch my head as this one did from the Daily Times, where an alert is mentioned for three vehicles that have been loaded with explosives for terrorist operations in the capital city of Pakistan. Look at the full story as it appears:

3 explosive-laden vehicles to target Islamabad, major Punjab cities

LAHORE: Three explosives-laden cars have been sent to Islamabad and major cities of Punjab, according to intelligence reports available with the Interior Ministry. According to the reports, terrorists are likely to target law-enforcement agencies, important installations, buildings and offices; and target mosques on the motorway in suicide bombings. One of the vehicles is a Pajero, registration No SXD-1500, installed with an emergency police light; another is a black Corolla, registration No 225; and the third is a Toyota Corolla 2D, registration No MNH-1122. aaj kal report
See what I mean? Obviously, one has to ask the question...how did they get these registration numbers and who are "they"? I mean, to put this in perspective, it would be like the Houston Chronicle publishing a report that there is a Ford Explorer headed for Houston laden with explosives with the Texas license plate # of 123 TXS. How could you have that information and not have stopped the action?

As for the validity of this story - if these vehicles are all off on this mission equipped this way, we are going to see a nightmare in Pakistan this week. I think all of us have seen what a VBIED can do...it's like a suicide bomb vest times 100 and in a city as populated as Islamabad, we could be looking at casualties in the hundreds and hundreds.

Hopefully, this information will halt this before execution but if you are a normal Pakistani civilian reading this article at Daily Times...well, the next few days are going to be ones of high anxiety. I guess that is the plan, isn't it?

It does make you wonder. Maybe there was an informat who had the info but couldn't do anything to stop it. If that's the case, then they must know who is driving these cars.

What a violent part of the world. The people must go to bed every night grateful that they made it to bed, and wondering what will happen to them the next day. I would be terrified to have children in these countries.
