Will Barack Obama Change His Mind About Iraq Withdrawl?

I know, that that's the dumbest question possibly ever asked in the blogosphere but today, there is more proof that the withdrawl of American troops from Iraq is going to by hairy, at the very least. With less than a week before all U.S. troops are scheduled to be withdrawn from all Iraqi cities, a bomb blast in the Sadr City section of Baghdad killed 61 people today - and this is just four days after U.S. troops handed off control of Sadr City to the local security forces. Let me reemphasize that: Four days ago, U.S. troops moved out of the Sadr City section of Baghdad and the local police and security forces took over and today, 61 people are dead and there are body parts hanging from buildings. I ask the question...what will happen when no single U.S. troop is in an Iraqi city? We'll be observing U.S. troops outside of the cities in rural areas, doing....well, not sure what they'll be doing but it's my prediction that it is going to be damn bloody in those cities.

Here's the brief report from Breitbart about today's horrific bombing (note: I'm not sure why the story says America troops are withdrawing from Iraq - it should read, "withdrawing from Iraqi cities"):

Bomb kills at least 61 in eastern Baghdad+

CAIRO, June 24 (AP) - (Kyodo)—A bomb exploded at a market in eastern Baghdad's Sadr City on Wednesday night, killing at least 61 people, Reuters news agency reported.
The incident occurred six days before U.S. troops are to withdraw from Iraq.
About 135 people were wounded in the blast at the market, Reuters said, quoting a witness as saying the explosion tore through a part of the Mraidi market where birds are sold, setting stalls ablaze.

Four days earlier, the U.S. military formally handed control to local forces in Sadr City, where U.S. and Iraqi forces fought fierce battles against Shi'ite militiamen in the spring of 2008.

I have said it before - al Qaeda is not done with Iraq. They have been stomped by America and what's left of them in the country has been relegated to hiding, mostly. But the withdrawls of American troops is going to send the signal to renew their efforts - now, I'm not saying that we are unprepared for this but I do believe that Barack Obama simply doesn't give a shit about Iraq. He wants the troops out to fulfill a campaign promise and that is it. And many of us have said that pulling out too early, could lead to a bad, bad scene there. If there's one thing we learned from Fallujah and Ramadi, it is that we NEVER want to see al Qaeda actually entrenched in cities again - rooting them out is long and deadly. And I can see the writing on the wall....America troops are withdrawn and pulled back, al Qaeda starts setting up shop again, the Iraqis finally call out for help again and Obama will act about as decisively as he has on Iran...and it will be too damned late.
