What Six U.S. Senators Voted FOR Funding The Transfer Of Gitmo Terrorists To America?

Okay, it's huge news today about how the U.S. Senate voted 90-6 AGAINST funding the transfer of Gitmo terrorist prisoners to American streets, neighborhoods or prisons - that's all unclear because the Obama administration hadn't really figured out yet where the terrorists would actually go. So this was a HUGE failure for the Obama administration and most Democrat Senators knew full well that voting for this funding and this transfer would have been the kiss of death to their political life. So I asked myself...."Holger, which six Senators actually voted to imperil the citizens of America?"

And here's your answer from the record of the Senate vote here. To restate, the following are the six U.S. Senators that voted to deliver known islamic terrorists onto the people of America. If these Senators are from your state, perhaps you might wish to make a phone call to them or send them an email:

Durbin (D-IL)

Harkin (D-IA)

Leahy (D-VT)

Levin (D-MI)

Reed (D-RI)

Whitehouse (D-RI)

well then, i say they take them into their districts.

the more i hear about this (such as this mornings frightening speech by our president), the more i think that people will deal with this situation as the pakistani villagers have (as noted in a newer post right here). people are NOT going to take kindly to head-chopping murderers living in the same neighborhood as their children.

lis v,

one post might have been enough, but as far as the gitmo bunch go, they don't have the right to be tried by the US judicial system, they are prisoners of war, who were captured not wearing uniforms. They actually have a right (under the Geneva Conventions) to be shot on the spot.

But I being of a "liberal" mind and in a generous mood, think they should be released. Take them out into international waters and release them, with about fifty pounds of chain around them.

lis v,

I've housecleaned your repeat comments but wanted to address your saying:

lock people up foreverWho are these "people" you are talking about? I see no people. I see jackal born minions of Satan who will one day reap a punishment in the Sea of Fire that will make a stay at Gitmo seem like Heaven.

I don't give a damn about the rights of a Taliban that the Northern Alliance turned over to American troops, what I am concerned about here are the rights of American citizens. When an American citizen can be detained indefinitely with no trial then the Constitution that my ancestors died for in the Revolution is meaningless. Too much power has been given to the executive branch.

Our prisons are already full of ruthless killers - and a whole bunch of drug offenders who are a threat to no one.
