In a unanimous vote, the council of ministers in Somalia has voted to implement Sharia Law throughout the country of Somalia and although this would now have to be voted on by the nation's parliament, it's gonna be a done deal. Somalia's council of ministers on Tuesday endorsed a plan to introduce sharia, or Islamic law in the country, a key demand by Islamists who are opposed to the government, officials said.
"The cabinet members discussed deeply on the issue regarding the Islamic sharia law and the members unanimously approved full implementation," Information Minister Farhan Ali Mohamoud said.
"Islamic Sharia is the only option to get solutions for the problems in this country," he told reporters.

Cabinet approves implementing Islamic Law
MOGADISHU (Sh. M. Network) -- Somalia's council of ministers on Tuesday endorsed a plan to introduce sharia, or Islamic law in the country, a key demand by Islamists who are opposed to the government, officials said.
"The cabinet members discussed deeply on the issue regarding the Islamic sharia law and the members unanimously approved full implementation," Information Minister Farhan Ali Mohamoud said.
"Islamic Sharia is the only option to get solutions for the problems in this country," he told reporters.
All the 20 of the country's 36 ministers present at Tuesday's session backed the move.
However, the proposal must be presented to parliament for approval as it is not part of the country's transitional federal charter.
Last month, President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed agreed to proposals by local and foreign religious leaders for a truce with Islamists and the implementation of sharia.
Islamic clerics, clan elders, and Islamist insurgents have been demanding the imposition of Sharia in the country.

Looks like Ethiopia may have to roll their military into Somalia again soon, just like they did a couple years ago. However, foreign military operations are not the solution to Somalia's problems. I'm not sure what is, the country has been broken for so long the easy solutions ended a long time ago

I agree - this is the new trend in more and more muslim countries - and unfortunately, some countries that have only 5-10% muslims in it

I'd love to see the Ethiopians get back into it...and they might as well, because once the islamists have really settled in and set up shop, their first target will be crossing that Ethiopian border and raising all kinds of holy hell.
