Grave, disgusting details have come out of Iraq's Interior Ministry regarding al Qaeda in Iraq's use of children to conduct suicide bombings in the Iraq War. Here's the details from the article over at Adnkronos:
Now, looking beyond the horror of this use of children as suicide bombs, it is pretty easy to see how the Iraqi people turned completely against al Qaeda in Iraq. It wasn't just the torture of citizens that put al Qaeda in Iraq in jeopardy or the strategic bombings designed to incide sectarian violence, it was this use of the innocent children that fired up the Awakenings. It also was the way that al Qaeda in Iraq capitalized on the use of grieving widows in Iraq and strapped suicide belts onto them.
At the same time, when you read this article, you have to be in complete amazement how American troops have handled themselves in this kind of assault. It's not enough that our men and women of the military have had to be watchful for IED's and snipers, but they have had to be suspect of every woman in a burqa and every child looking for a free soccer ball.
Al-Qaeda has over the past two years used 24 children to carry out suicide bombings in Iraq, the director of military operations for the Interior Ministry, Abdelaziz Mohammed Jasim, told pan-Arab daily al-Sharq al-Awsat."Of the 24 children, five had a mental disability. From analysing the others' remains, we established that they were homeless," said Jasim.
American soldiers stationed in Iraq have reported that the insurgency has armed children as young as 11 to fight against them.Al-Qaeda is targeting orphans, street children and mentally disabled children as suicide bomber recruits as well as women, according to the Iraqi Interior Ministry.

There is no depth to the depravity of these despicable terrorists. How anyone can defend these violent, bloodthirsty freaks is beyond my understanding.
I have to shake my head in amazement when the loons with Bush Derangement Syndrome call the President names like "Hitler" and others I can't print - but they call these beasts who murder innocent women and children -- and mentally handicapped children, at that -- they call these filthy beasts "freedom fighters."
What a sad commentary on the news media of today. They are pathetic collaborators, not journalists.
brent,
Well said. I'd ask the question...when is the last time you actually heard ANYONE on the MSM side of things mention ONE atrocity in Afghanistan or Iraq? When is the last time they covered a bombing of civilians that WASN'T supposedly linked to a U.S. air strike?
My point is that the general public of America who follow their news via the MSM have no clue what is happening with islamic jihad around the globe.
