Twelve Acquitted Of Plotting To Assassinate Hezbollah's Nasrallah

Twelve individuals in Lebanon were acquitted of charges by a Lebanese tribunal that they had planned and plotted to assassinate the head of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah. The plot supposedly was concocted back in 2006 before the Lebanon War with Israel broke out.

Here's some of the details of the acquittal from AFP:

Lebanon's military tribunal has cleared 12 people of plotting to assassinate Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in 2006, a judicial official said on Tuesday.
The decision, issued on Thursday, said only that there was a "lack of sufficient evidence" against the suspects.
Despite acquittal on the conspiracy charge, eight defendants were sentenced to three to five years in prison for "forming a group with the intent to commit crimes against people" as well as the "unauthorized possession of weapons".
A ninth person was cleared of both these charges and the remaining three were released after having been deemed to have served unspecified sentences on the same charges.

Here's how the plot was originally reported:

In April 2006, about three months before the devastating war between Israel and Hezbollah, the Lebanese daily As Safir reported that the group plotted to assassinate Nasrallah on his way to a meeting of the Lebanese national dialogue devoted to resolving political tensions in the country.
According to the paper, the group had attempted to track the "movements of Sheikh Nasrallah and developed a comprehensive plan to assassinate him" by hitting his convoy with anti-tank rockets.

I don't know about you but I find myself salivating after reading about that plot to kill this piece of shit, Nasrallah. There are only three jihadist leaders that I would like to see dead BEFORE Nasrallah and those, in order, are bin Laden, al Zawahiri and Ahmadinejad. Nasrallah has been reported to be on a bit of shaky ground lately internally with Hezbollah and also with Syria but in the end, he still is much of the glue that holds the Hezbollah misfits together.

I know the Israelis would take out Nasrallah at the earliest prime opportunity but it would be nearly as sweet to see some of his countrymen blow his ass to bits. Either way, the world wins when this slime breathes his last.

Security sources were quoted as saying the group as "well-structured" with "advanced training in the use of weapons." They claimed that weapons, including rockets, grenades and Kalashnikov rifles, were found in their homes.
