Al Qaeda Commander Killed In Afghanistan Air Strike

More good news out of Afghanistan - actually the news came off of an al Qaeda website but it's still great news - Abu Abdullah al-Shami, an al Qaeda commander in Afghanistan was killed by an American airstrike somewhere in Afghanistan so we can cross that chump off the hit list. Here's the brief story in its entirety from Yahoo:

Al-Qaida commander killed in Afghanistan

CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida has posted a statement on the Internet saying one of its commanders in Afghanistan has been killed by a U.S. airstrike.

Abu Abdullah al-Shami was one of four al-Qaida militants who brazenly escaped from U.S.-run Bagram prison in Afghanistan three years ago.
Thursday's statement was dated July 14 and signed by the terror network's top Afghanistan commander, Mustafa Abu al-Yazeed.
It says al-Shami was "martyred with a group of his companions." It did not elaborate on where he was killed, or who was with him.
The message appeared on a Web site frequently used by al-Qaida.
It's good to see that this chump was finally caught up with after the prison break three years ago. While the al Qaeda statement doesn't say what area of Afghanistan that al-Shami was killed in, it has to be either the southern or southeastern area as there really haven't been many U.S. airstrikes in other areas of the country - that's my guess anyway.

Either way, this guy's escape from prison three years ago was gloated by al Qaeda and the Taliban at the time and this goes to show you that you can run, you can hide, you can even escape but sooner or later, the long arm of Uncle Sam is gonna take you down.
