U.S, NATO and Afghan Forces Kill Over 10 Taliban In Afghanistan

More good news coming out of the War in Afghanistan where coalition and Afghan troops have claimed more than 10 Taliban kills. Some of the same old, same old - Taliban attack a coalition convoy, convoy calls in Apaches and F-16s, Taliban die, big time.

Here's part of the story out of Breitbart:

Attacks by coalition and Afghan forces have killed more than 10 Taliban in Afghanistan.
Faridullah Khan, deputy provincial police chief of the southern province of Zabul, says nine Taliban were killed in airstrikes after militants launched an early morning attack on an army convoy.
Khan says two Afghan army vehicles were damaged in the Thursday morning fight and that six Taliban motorbikes and several rocket- propelled grenades were discovered after the battle.
One thing I'd like to point out is that recently, the ONLY success the Taliban has seen is suicide bombing attacks and I think that is a bittersweet success for the Taliban. In my view, the Taliban adopted the IED and suicide bomber tactics from al Qaeda but when it comes down to it, the Taliban don't want to fight that way. The Taliban would prefer to sneak up on a convoy and engage with small arms and RPGs - they want to storm down a mountainside...and now, they've been reduced to adopting tactics that al Qaeda has resorted to using women and children to do.

Either way, the Taliban are having a very rough go of it this year. Not only did no Spring Offensive materialize but there are four provinces of Afghanistan right now where they are having their asses handed to them. And, to make it even more sweet, the word has spread among the Taliban that there are free flying drones over their refuge in Pakistan. Really is a shame, wouldn't you say? Hahaha.

Elsewhere, the U.S.-led coalition said in a statement that "several militants" were killed and five detained on Wednesday during an operation in Helmand province that targeted a Taliban leader associated with the murder of government officials.
