Nice score on this one! Thirty dead Taliban in one counterattack is a good, good day! Here's the details on how this went down, according to the report here at China View:
What is working for the good guys in this war is that the Taliban had that long, sweet drink of power in Afghanistan years ago and they are very impatient to get back in control. The Taliban simply do not have the patience or the nature for a 20 year war where they will blow up a few IED's or conduct some suicide bombings. They think they can storm the fort and swarm the hillsides like locusts and they are finding out that NATO and U.S. air support have a good field of vision on them.
Hopefully, the next battle we will see air strikes hit an even bigger group - I'd love to report a triple digit day!
Some 200 Taliban fighters raided police checkpoints in Tanai district Monday night and police responded, killing 30 rebels in a three-hour clash, Badiul Zaman, Tanai's district chief, told Xinhua. An unusual development here is that we are seeing 200 Taliban together in this operation. Some of you have seen the reports about the Taliban congregating around Kandahar in numbers approaching 1000 so this almost appears to be some new tactics - almost reminiscient of the Spring Offensive of three years ago. Anyway, what the result again shows here is that NATO air support is and has been the difference in this war - the Apaches and F-16's and predator drones are absolutely blowing the shit out of the Taliban in this types of counteroffensives.
He said international troops had provided air support to Afghan police in the battle.
This killing came as Afghan security forces backed by foreign troops had killed over 60 militants on June 14-15.

Precisely. The MSM and Taliban still aren't paying attention to the following safety tip:
"Soooooooo, you're planning to conduct a massed assault, in the open, against a dug-in, well-equipped, highly-motivated opponent who possesses fire superiority and control of the air? Just remember to do one thing before you step off...
make sure your 'Mutual of Jihad' policy is paid up."
hahahaha mark!
Great comment...now THAT brought a smile to my face.
