Five Taliban Dead In Premature Explosion Of IED (ed. HaHa)

Yeah, this brought a big smile to my face although I had to hunt for the story since they hid it inside another headline. Here's the abbreviated story on this from an article at JPost:

In southern Helmand province, five Taliban insurgents were killed Friday when a mine they were planting on a highway in Musa Qala district exploded prematurely, said provincial police chief Mohammad Hussein Andiwal.

Hahaha! Round these parts, we call that "Justice." I can just imagine these Taliban in Helmand who have been under HUGE pressure from the Canadians and now fresh U.S. Marines getting a little nervous in their IED making process - perhaps they have less time to do it, perhaps their attention is being diverted or perhaps when they were putting it in the ground, they heard the chatter of rotors or the hum of a Bradley coming but either way, five of these shitbags are now in pieces scattered across the countryside.

And that, is a very good thing.

Afghanistan: Suicide attack kills 4 Afghan soldiers, child in East

A suicide bomber on foot blew himself up as an Afghan army convoy slowed to pass a pothole-riddled section of road Friday in eastern Afghanistan, killing four soldiers and a child, an official said.
Four other soldiers were wounded in the attack, about 12 kilometers west of Khost city, said Defense Ministry spokesman Zahir Azimi.
In southern Helmand province, five Taliban insurgents were killed Friday when a mine they were planting on a highway in Musa Qala district exploded prematurely, said provincial police chief Mohammad Hussein Andiwal.

I keep flashing on an image of Steve Erkel saying "Did I do thaaaat?"

BTW, that's not just justice, that's poetic justice and delicious irony at it's best. Truly their own worst enemies.

Thanks scottie...I was racking my brain thinking of that phrase "poetic justice" and finally gave up!

Good to see ya.
