Car Bomb Attack In Tehran, Iran

Interesting, to say the least. It wasn't long ago that we saw the mosque "explosion" in Iran that the Iranians finally broke down and admitted had been a bombing and now, this mysterious car bombing in Tehran happens. As would be expected, there isn't much for details on this so I will excerpt the whole article here from Adnkronos:

Iran: Carbomb explodes in Tehran

Tehran, 26 May (AKI) - A carbomb exploded in a western suburb of the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday. No one was hurt in the blast but some buildings were damaged. The area where the car bomb exploded was immediately isolated by security forces. No one has claimed responsibility for the incident. According to a report on the Fars news agency, one person has been arrested in connection with the blast.

Couple of things to note here. First, the damage from this car bombing had to have been pretty significant for the Iranians to not have tried to cover this up and second, this happened in Tehran - not some podunk village or secondary city in outerland Iran.

Now, I'm sure the Iranians will blame this on the MEK - an Iranian group opposed to the government of Iran and also a terrorist group listed on America's list of terrorists. The Iranians will point the finger at MEK and probably spin it that the Americans were behind it. Haha.

It's hard to say if this IS MEK or if the mullahs are looking at their own "insurgency" but it might just be interesting to note how long before another one of these accounts - the last bombing of the mosque in Iran was really treated as a real fluke but now....
