That one word..."Shamnesty" simply gets the majority of Americans seeing red - that was proved when the American public rose up en masse and obliterated the Senate lawmakers last time around.
Well, the bad news is a similar bill is creeping back in and could be acted on without a lot of fanfare.
This FamilySecurityMatters story has much of the commentary on the bill but to see the possible new bill details, go here to the story in a Tulsaworld article.
This is from the Tulsaworld piece:
The issues here are immense. Let's face it, if you enter America illegally, you should be arrested and sent back to your homeland. Deportation is the policy here at Holger Awakens (if you don't like that, sorry...but not really). If we can locate and categorize and give millions of illegals all the benefits the Dems want to, then we can locate and deport the bastards.
It's my contention that lawmakers against Shamnesty, need to attack this issue through the stance of National Defense. If they can make the case that Shamnesty will imperil the nation, we could have a chance but if they try to stave this off with usual tactics, it won't happen. This bill will pass because proponents found out they must keep a lid on the publicity - and believe me, Leftist politicians know exactly how to keep the lid on bills to be passed.
Let's prove that our open borders and shamnesty-proposed laws would lead to a second, third and fourth major attack on the U.S. - and that isn't bullshit or creating fear - it is the absolute inevitable truth.
Here's some additonal excerpts from the article:
‘Comprehensive Immigration Reform’ Back from the Dead?
If our federal government passes an immigration reform package that includes a path to legal status for the 20 million or more illegal aliens, the hard work done by legislators throughout the United States on all levels to address the illegal immigration crisis would become irrelevant. Why? Virtually every illegal alien would be eligible to remain in the United States irrespective of how they entered our country (and possibly even if they violated other laws along the way).
Please consider a few reasons why I have been adamantly opposed to a guest worker program for illegal aliens.
First of all, our nation's borders are anything but secure. The virtual fence that has cost so much money is not functioning effectively. Even when does, there is still a shortage of Border Patrol agents to respond to its alerts.
Additionally, at present, the border that separates the United States from Canada is not secured and is relatively easy to cross without detection. While most illegal aliens come over the Mexican border, the Canadian border has been used quite effectively by alien smugglers who bring Asians into the United States, often using Indian reservations as a staging area. And liberal Canadian policies for applications for political asylum have enabled a number of terror cells to be established in Canada.
Finally, it is currently estimated that 40% of the illegal aliens in the United States did not run our nation's borders, but rather entered the United States through ports of entry. Then, in one way or another, they violated the terms of their admission by remaining long after their authorized time period had expired, accepted unlawful employment, or were convicted of committing felonies.

This is from the Tulsaworld piece:
Boren said immediate deportation of the nation's estimated 12 million to 20 million illegal immigrants probably is not feasible. He predicted that the policy that ultimately is emerging is likely to be similar to the one advocated by President Bush. "I think we're going to see some type of bill like that," he said. "I think it'll pass the House and Senate and be signed by the president."But what I want to focus on here is the danger this type of bill puts the American people in - the Family Security Matters commentary does a great job of presenting past failures of the American system to stop terrorists. Check this out:
The total number of terrorists who have used immigration benefit fraud to enter the U.S. is unknown, but I can tell you that one report indicated that some 94 terrorists have been identified as operating in our country in the decade leading up to the attacks of 9/11. Of those 94, about two-thirds of them used immigration benefit fraud.
The 19 terrorists who attacked our nation on 9/11 used a total of more than 300 false names and variations of false names.
