American Forces in Iraq Nab Another Insurgency Leader


Okay, the details are very sketchy on this and I'm, for now, referring to this latest capture by American forces as an "insurgency leader" because it isn't clear if it is al Qaeda in Iraq or not. My bet is soundly that it is. But this is fantastic news!
I'll try to follow up later with another report but the fact is, we continue to nail these leaders in Iraq at a rate of one or two per week - sooner or later there will be no one willing to step up and lead the gang of thugs.

BAGHDAD, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- American forces have nabbed a notorious insurgency leader in an airborne operation carried out south of the Iraqi capital, the American Army said in a statement on Thursday.Up to 15 other militants were detained the operation that was executed in the region, located 25 miles south of Baghdad.The apprehended leading insurgent had been involved in planning and carrying out attacks against the regular Iraqi and allied forces as well as well sectarian violence.
