Video: Remembering Tora Bora....When the U.S. Actually Tried To WIN the War In Afghanistan

Video: One-Armed National Guard Veteran Catches Foul Pop Fly

From LiveLeak:

Web gem catches are often reserved for the players on the field. Yet in a game that featured former Gold Glove winners like Mark Teixeira, Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez, it was fan Michael Kacer who was featured on all the weekend highlight reels.

Kacer, a 29-year-old war veteran who lost his left arm in a 2008 rocket attack, was sitting near the visitor’s dugout for Friday nights Yankees-Rockies matchup in New York. In the first inning, Curtis Granderson fouled a ball into the stands that headed toward Kacer. After a single bounce, Kacer managed to reach out his hat and grab the ball.
The 11-year National Guard veteran immediately placed the ball in the hands of his 13-year-old nephew, Isaiah, who was attending his first Yankees game.
"I watched it bounce and I'm like, 'I might be able to get it,' and it just happened to go right in the hat," Kacer explained, "so it makes for a great souvenir for [Isaiah]."
Kacer was one of more than 20 veterans at Friday’s game as part of Achilles International, a non-profit organization based out of New York that provides athletic experiences and opportunities to people with disabilities. The group took a Yankee bus to the stadium and was escorted by the NYPD. The veterans also had an opportunity to meet players prior to the game, where Kacer was able to meet Nick Swisher and manager Joe Girardi.
Yet we can assume that it was his catch in the first inning that will linger in Kacer’s memory. Forget Endy Chavez's one-handed grab -- this one-handed catch is for real.

Two Egyptian Christian Girls On Their Way to Church Are Abducted By Muslims, Then Sold For Ransom

From Front Page Mag:

Egypt: Christian Girls Kidnapped and ‘Sold’

Two teenage Coptic girls, cousins, were recently kidnapped and then “sold” in Minya, Egypt—the same region where a Coptic church was recently attacked and desecrated. I tried to find this story in English-language media and, as expected, found nothing, except for one report in Al-Masry Al-Youm titled “Clashes between police and Coptic protesters in Minya”—as if that’s the important story (as usual, the media prefers headlines portraying harried Christian minorities as equally culpable as their Muslim persecutors, thereby justifying use of the preferred phrase, “sectarian strife“).

At the end of the Al-Masry Al-Youm report, we get a trailing sentence alluding to “claims” that two Christian girls “were abducted by Muslims and forced to convert to Islam” as the reason why Copts were demonstrating and clashing with the police in the first place.

One must again turn to Arabic sources for the telling details. I have put together the following narrative and quotes based on these two Arabic reports:

The two girls, Christine Azat (aged 16) and Nancy Magdi (aged 14) were on their way to church Sunday, June 12, when they were seized. Their abductors demanded $200,000 Egyptian pounds for their release. The people of the region quickly put their savings together and came up with the ransom money; but when they tried to give it to the kidnappers, they rejected it, saying they had already “sold” the girls off to another group which requires $12 million Egyptian pounds to return them.

Christine’s father, who has been harrying the police since the minute he discovered the girls were kidnapped—to little avail—says he and his family “have been in a living hell since Christine’s abduction.” Nancy’s father laments that “My daughter has not even outgrown childhood; she is only 14 years old, the youngest in the family, our baby….Since her disappearance my household has been living in continuous depression, misery, and weeping.”

Some have tried to pass the usual rumor that the girls “willingly” ran off and converted to Islam, but even Egyptian officials reject this, saying that Al Azhar, which is the institution that formally recognizes conversions to Islam, has not acknowledged the conversion of underage minors.

What will become of Christine and Nancy? Since the exorbitant ransom will likely not be raised, will the teenage girls be killed—like the Christian Iraqi youth who was recently beheaded when his family couldn’t ransom him from his abductors? Probably not; as females, their lot is to be raped, enslaved, and sold off to some rich, sexually-depraved man who believes it his divine right to own infidel sex-slaves.

Therefore, next time you hear about an Egyptian Muslim preacher boasting that Islam permits Muslims to abduct and ransom infidels as a great way to make a living and own female sex-slaves, or when you hear about a Kuwaiti political activist praying to Allah that Kuwait would formally institutionalize sex-slavery, do not brush these aside as mere words, for here are their fruits.

Taliban Try It Again...This Time An 8 Year Old Girl Carrying Their Explosives Towards Police Outpost Explodes Killing Girl

(File photo)

It was just a few days ago that I reported that the Taliban had enlisted an 8 year old girl to wear a suicide bomb vest in a planned attack on a police checkpoint - that little girl broke down and screamed for help from police and the vest was disarmed, saving the girl. Well today, things didn't go as well for another 8 year old Afghan girl. The Taliban gave her a bag of explosives and commanded her to bring the bag to the police at a checkpoint and as she approached, the bag's explosives went off killing the girl.

All of this comes one day after a Taliban SUV was plowed into a hospital setting off a huge amount of explosives.

Welcome to the morality and ethics of the Taliban, welcome to the kind of fiends that America would seek to negotiate a peace with.

From the article at Reuters via Breitbart:

An eight-year-old Afghan girl was killed when a bag of explosives given to her by Taliban insurgents exploded as she approached a police outpost in southern Afghanistan, the government said Sunday.

"The insurgents handed over a bag with a homemade bomb to an eight-year-old girl and asked her to take it to police forces," the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

"As the girl was getting close to the police, it exploded and killed the girl."

As many of you know, I have blogged here about the twisted and sick tactics of suicide bombing that the likes of al Qaeda have brought to their cousins in the Taliban and it is reaching a fevered pitch as all stops have been taken out in the strategy of attacking police outposts. Just imagine what went through the mind of this 8 year old little girl as she approached that outpost...imagine her wide eyes laced with fear...imagine the tears that ran down her face as the bearded Taliban fucks sat on a hilltop a quarter of a mile away watching and laughing and shouting their "allahu ackbars." These are not men. These are minions of Satan freshly released from the gates of Hell.

Sit down with them at a peace talks table? Hell no. Send cluster bombs and hellfires up their asses for 60 straight days? Hell yes.

Just do it. Kill every last one of them.

(Reuters) - An eight-year-old Afghan girl was killed when a bag of explosives given to her by Taliban insurgents exploded as she approached a police outpost in southern Afghanistan, the government said Sunday.

"The insurgents handed over a bag with a homemade bomb to an eight-year-old girl and asked her to take it to police forces," the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

"As the girl was getting close to the police, it exploded and killed the girl."

There have been occasional cases of insurgents using female bombers -- or more commonly of fighters dressing as women in head-to-toe burqa coverings -- but the use of children had been almost unheard of until recently.

In May, Afghan police paraded four boys, all under 13, they said had been recruited as bombers from their homes in neighboring Pakistan. One of the boys said they had been told they would live through the suicide attacks.

The Taliban later denied they were recruiting children to carry out suicide attacks.

The latest incident took place in the Char Chino district of Uruzgan province in southern Afghanistan. There were no police casualties.

The death comes as four NATO troops were killed over the past two days, including two Spanish soldiers who died on Sunday after a homemade bomb exploded in western Afghanistan.

A suicide car bomber killed at least 20 people, and possibly as many as 35, in an attack at a hospital in a remote district of the eastern Logar province Saturday that damaged the hospital's maternity ward.

Military and civilian casualties hit record levels in 2010, the most violent year of the war since U.S.-backed Afghan forces toppled the Taliban in late 2001.

This year is following a similar trend, with violence growing across Afghanistan since the Taliban announced a spring offensive at the beginning of May.

It is also a worrying sign as Afghans prepare to take over security responsibility from NATO-led troops in seven areas across the country next month.

That will coincide with the start in July of a gradual drawdown of U.S. troops. U.S. and NATO troops plan to hand over security responsibility for all of Afghanistan by the end of 2014, although critics warn the handover date is premature.

Al Qaeda in Iraq's Newest Trick...a Suicide Bomber In a Wheelchair, Blast Kills 2

Let's just recount what al Qaeda in Iraq has implemented in suicide bombings over the years...they have used young men as suicide bombers, then they switched to men wearing burqas, then they went to women as suicide bombers, then they moved to children wearing suicide vests and then to mentally handicapped children to do their dirty work. Well now, al Qaeda in Iraq has used a suicide bomber in a wheelchair to attack a police station in Iraq.

From the article at DAWN:

A suicide bomber in a wheelchair attacked a police station north of Baghdad on Sunday, killing two people and wounding 17, nine of them policemen, officials said.

“A suicide bomber detonated his explosives vest at the entrance to a police station, killing two civilians and wounding 17 people, including nine policemen in Tarmiyah,” a town north of Baghdad, an interior ministry official said. A defence ministry official confirmed the report.

“The suicide bomber came up to the entrance in a wheelchair,” said Colonel Tawfiq Ahmed al-Jenabi, chief of the town’s police, who added he did not know if the attacker was genuinely handicapped.

The point of all of this is that the leadership and mid level commanders of al Qaeda in Iraq are sure quick to use all others for their suicide bombing missions ....while they themselves sit back and watch from afar. You know, suicide bombing is for the people, not al Qaeda in Iraq. These are the spineless cowards of al Qaeda - those that run from U.S. troops, those that plant bombs in the ground to kill and those that prey upon the weak to do their bidding.

Meanwhile, two people were wounded by an improvised bomb that exploded next to a convoy transporting Mohammed Ahmed al-Obaidi, mayor of the town of Al-Riyadh in the restive northern province of Kirkuk.

Obaidi, who escaped unhurt and spoke to AFP after the attack, lost a foot in a similar bombing in June last year.

Twenty-four people were killed on Thursday in three separate attacks in Baghdad, including 21 in a triple bombing at a crowded market, and an American contractor working for USAID whose convoy was hit by an improvised bomb.

Taliban Carbomb Afghan Hospital Killing 30 Then Deny They Did It

First off, the Taliban could care less about bombing a hospital and killing innocent sick people laying in a hospital bed and secondly, the Taliban lie like you and I breathe in oxygen.

An SUV full of explosives was rammed into a hospital today in Logar province today and the blast killed 30 Afghan civilians...when the Taliban saw the amount of damage and deaths they had caused, well then they were quick to point the finger at someone else...anyone else....like, let's see....hmmm....who else in the country is pulling off this kind of blood letting? No one. This is classic al Qaeda inspired terror and the Taliban have bought in 100 percent to the debauchery of their Arab cousins.

From the article at The Long War Journal:

A suicide bomber killed more than 30 Afghans in a deadly attack on a hospital in the eastern province of Logar today.

The suicide bomber rammed an SUV packed with explosives into a local hospital in the Azra district in Logar just before noon today. Patients and medical personnel were among those killed in the attack. One Afghan official said that more than 35 people were killed.

The Taliban denied it carried out the attack and claimed it was an attempt to "defame" the terror group.

"We condemn this attack on a hospital ... whoever has done this wants to defame the Taliban," spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

But the Taliban have carried out suicide attacks and bombings at hospitals, mosques, markets, and other civilian centers. On May 21, the Taliban claimed credit for a suicide attack at a hospital on Kabul that is frequented by military and police personnel. And just yesterday, the Taliban detonated a bomb at a market in Kunduz, killing ten civilians.

The Taliban and the Haqqani Network, a Taliban subgroup close to al Qaeda that is based in the Afghan east, both operate in Logar. They operate jointly as part of the Kabul Attack Network, a unit assigned to carry out attacks in and around the capital. The Kabul Attack Network includes elements from the Hizb-i-Islami Gulbuddin, the Lashkar-e-Taiba, and al Qaeda, and routinely sends out suicide bombers to carry out attacks in the region. Taj Mir Jawad, a senior Taliban commander who co-leaders the Kabul Attack Network, commands forces in the Pul-e Alam district in Logar.

Did I mention that these Taliban that killed Afghans laying in hospital beds are the same Taliban that Barack Hussein Obama wishes to negotiate a lasting peace with in Afghanistan?

The International Security Assistance Force claims the Taliban is responsible 85 percent of civilian casualties in Afghanistan that occurred between January and the end of May of this year. Last year, the United Nations said the Taliban were responsible for 78 percent of civilian deaths.
