Holger Diaries: The Counter-Jihad Membership Checklist

There are hundreds of bloggers in this world that would define themselves as participating in the "Counter-Jihad." And so, one may ask, what exactly is counter-jihad and who can belong to it? First off, I just got back from dictionary.com and there is no definition of counter-jihad. So, allow me to take a stab at a definition:

Counter-Jihad: The movement of individuals who have totally committed themselves to the eradication of islamofascism and the world-wide siege of islamists seeking world surrender.

I know, we could debate that definition for weeks. What I'm more interested in is the members of this movement. There has been considerable controversy of late amongst the elite bloggers of this counter-jihad as to who should be able to be a member of the counter-jihad and who should not be allowed. Thus, I bring you ... The Counter-Jihad Membership Checklist:

You May NOT Become A Member Of The Counter-Jihad Movement If:

  • You are a Belgian who wishes separation for the Flemish north and wishes to curtail the immigration of muslims to your land - that makes you a neo-Nazi

  • You are a Swede who wishes to protect your country's culture and fight the rape of your nation's young women by muslims - that makes you a fascist

  • You are a Brit who fights back for the backbone of Britain displayed by Winston Churchill and wish to counter attack the dhimmization of Great Britain - that makes you a Hitler sympathizer

  • You are an American who wishes to limit the immigration of muslims to this land who have no desire to assimilate to America's values - that makes you a KKK member

  • You are an American who fights the special privileges granted to muslims in this country - that makes you a white supremacist

  • You are a Christian who, after watching your faith attacked and undermined by the courts, fights back for your faith - that makes you a right wing Christian fanatic

  • You are a Christian who dares to believe in the Biblical version of Creation - that makes you an extremist theocrat

  • You are a Christian or a Jew who dares question every tenet of Evolution - that makes you either a radical evangelical or a religious fanatic

  • You are a Nationalist who seeks to protect the values and cultures of your society - that makes you a fascist neo-Nazi white supremacist Bible-clinging anti-Darwinist

Unfortunately, by going through the Membership Checklist myself, I have found that I do NOT qualify for membership in the Counter-Jihad. And since I'm not about to back down in my fight against islamofascism, and due to the lack of any semblance of an agreed upon definition of "Counter-Jihad", perhaps it's time for a new name for this movement.

I'll get back to you if I come up with one.

Reuters, A Tool For Terrorists

It has been documented before just how much Reuters is in the pocket of islamic terrorists across the world - it wasn't that long ago the world faced the realization that Reuters had doctored photographs in Lebanon trying to show bias towards the Israeli attacks on Hezbollah. Now, Reuters is again showing its bias towards Israel. And it is showing that it is a puppet of Jihad using a Western organizational name. Reuters is basically the islamists' propaganda office in the West.

I want to dissect a Reuters story that is out today here. I will be excerpting a number of pieces of that story and will also excerpt it in its entirety at the end of this posting. Let's look at the title of the Reuters story:

Israel reclosure of crossings dampens Gazans' hopes

Okay, that's pretty clear isn't it? Reuters is saying that Israel is at fault because of closing Gaza crossings again. If you read that title without knowing anything of the past week and a half, you are going to say that Israel is at fault, aren't you?

Next:

Israel responded to Thursday's rocket attack by again closing its border crossing with Gaza on Friday, dampening hopes among Gazans that a ceasefire between Hamas and the Jewish state might ease an Israeli-led blockade.

Notice how Reuters decided NOT to write this by saying: After Hamas' rocket attacks on Israel on Thursday, Israel had no choice but to again close Gaza borders.

Next:

But, the Israeli army's killing of a top militant commander in the occupied West Bank, sporadic rocket attacks and periodic Israeli closures of Gaza's crossings have strained the truce.

This is incredible. Reuters emphasizes "Israeli" twice in this sentence and mentions Hamas or Islamic Jihad or terrorists or militants NOT ONCE in this sentence. If you reread that sentence, you might even assume that ISRAEL fired the "sporadic rocket attacks."

Next:

"What came in was very limited and did not meet what is required," livestock merchant Saber Abu Haleeb said of the amount of food supplies and goods Israel has allowed into the territory since the truce went into effect.
Israel cut back sharply on the supply of goods into the Gaza Strip a year ago, after Hamas seized the territory from forces loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas's more secular Fatah faction.
Responding to Israel's decision to reclose the crossings, Hamas said on Friday it was suspending indirect talks to secure the release of an Israeli soldier kidnapped by Hamas-led militants two years ago.

Again, Reuters goes on ad nauseum about the Israeli blockades and closings. They even go so far as to mention the Hamas capture of Shalit but do not ever mention the reason the crossings were closed and why supplies were halted.

Summary:

Here's what has happened in this farce of a truce inked between Hamas and Israel. I believe it was on the fourth day of the truce, a rocket attack upon Israel was fired from Gaza at the same time that the Israelis had eliminated a wanted terrorist leader in the West Bank. When the rocket attack happened, Hamas said nothing. Later, they blamed the rocket attack on another faction in Gaza and even arrested those involved. A DAY LATER, Hamas and other terrorists said the rockets had been fired in retaliation for the Israel killing of the terror leader. So, in other words, Hamas had no way of covering themselves for violating the truce until they made up this fairy tale a day later. And the Israeli action took place in the WEST BANK! If the Israelis had killed a Hezbollah jihadist trying to cross Israel's northern border, would Hamas have used that as justification?

But none of this is reported by Reuters. Reuters is the western version of Al Jezeera. They are a tool. They are a puppet. They are a disgrace to journalism.

One more thing. When you look at the full story below, notice the name who wrote this "story".... you see it? .... "By Nidal al-Mughrabi"

Israel reclosure of crossings dampens Gazans' hopes

By Nidal al-Mughrabi

GAZA (Reuters) - Israel responded to Thursday's rocket attack by again closing its border crossing with Gaza on Friday, dampening hopes among Gazans that a ceasefire between Hamas and the Jewish state might ease an Israeli-led blockade.
A truce brokered by Egypt on June 19 calls on militants in the Gaza Strip to halt rocket fire in return for Israel gradually lifting its blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory.
But, the Israeli army's killing of a top militant commander in the occupied West Bank, sporadic rocket attacks and periodic Israeli closures of Gaza's crossings have strained the truce.
Like thousands of Gazans who had hoped the ceasefire would offer respite from the stifling blockade, 60-year-old Kefaya Abu-Odah is angry at Gazan militants who have been breaching the truce, prompting Israel to shut the border crossings.
"They (militants) do not want calm and neither does Israel," she said at a cattle market in the northern Gaza Strip where she sought to sell her two sheep.
She doubted the ceasefire would last.
Rocket fire against Israel is rarely criticized by Palestinians, who view such attacks as a legitimate response to Israel's economic blockade of Gaza and its military operations against militant groups in the occupied West Bank.
Israel maintains its cordon is a response to rocket attacks against its civilians and has said its crackdown on militants in the West Bank was necessary to stop attacks against Israelis.
"I want to sell the sheep and earn some money so I can live. I can't even find food for my sheep," she said, adding that 60 members of her family shared a small building in the costal territory, home to some 1.5 million aid-dependent Palestinians.
Others at the market complained the ceasefire, now just over two weeks old, has done little to lift Gaza's shattered economy.
Saki Abu al-Ward, a heart patient, said gunmen behind the rocket attacks wanted to sabotage the truce, which he had hoped would allow him to travel to Egypt to receive better treatment.
"We hoped crossings would open and especially the Rafah crossing through which patients like me could go for treatment," said the 56-year-old.

Afghan Army Repels Taliban Attack Killing 25 Taliban In The Process

Even Bill Roggio is talking about how the Taliban KEEP trying these ambushes on Afghan and NATO forces and forward operating bases and in the process, they are getting their asses kicked. Let's look at a part of Bill's report over here at The Long War Journal:

The Afghan National Army killed 25 Taliban fighters after being ambushed and fighting a 10 hour battle in the western province of Badghis. The attack in Badghis is the latest in a series of Taliban attempts to rout Afghan forces and overrun district centers and forward operating bases.
This year, the Taliban have sent smaller, company-sized elements of 50 to 100 fighters to conduct attacks. The units are often supported with mortar, rocket, and machinegun teams. But the Taliban forces have still taken frightening casualties - often over 50 percent of the force killed in a single engagement - with little to show in return. Coalition and Afghan forces take few or no casualties during the ambushes and massed attacks.

Bill Roggio hits the nail on the head when he talks about the Taliban losses and "little to show in return." Not only do their ambushes or assault yield no victories, but they are inflicting very, very few casualties on NATO or Afghan forces. I don't have the exact figures but I have to believe that 90% of the NATO and Afghan casualties are the result of Taliban IED's and suicide bombers.

But I have talked about this before...the Taliban know that the IED's and suicide bombers are effective but they don't like that kind of fight. It's a distinct difference between the Taliban and their Arab jihadi mates to the East. The Arab jihadists are cowards and sneaky fucks. They NEVER look for a confrontational battle - they hide behind trees and rocks and punch numbers in a cell phone to blow up an IED. The Taliban, on the other hand, like to try and intimidate with numbers of fighters and head on assaults. That tactic of the Taliban has cost them dearly. The key factor that keeps the Taliban in the game is that they never give up. They can lose 50 out of 80 fighters one day and bring another 100 to a battle the next. They simply do not fade away.

Afghan Army kills 25 Taliban after ambush in the northwestern province of Badghis

"At least 25 Taliban were killed and many were wounded in several hours of fighting after the Taliban attacked our troops," Mohammad Ayob Niazyar, the Badghis provincial police chief told AFP.
Afghan troops repelled the Taliban ambush in the district of Muqur, which borders Iran. Afghan police and Spanish soldiers operating in the area provided backup for the Afghan soldiers and routed the company-sized Taliban force. "Twelve bodies of militants were left on the field and many others were wounded during the fight," according to the AP. No Afghan or Spanish casualties
The Taliban have opened a new front in the northwestern provinces of Badghis and neighboring Faryab province. "We are trying to open up this route just as we did in the past," said Mullah Dastagir, an influential Taliban commander in Badghis, during an interview with IWPR last November. "Our policy is different up here. We have openly engaged the government and foreign forces in the south, but in the north we are quietly expanding our area. The government is weaker here than in the south and the mountains have provided good terrain for our operations."
The Taliban have maintained a presence in northwestern Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban government in late 2001. "The Taliban have never been fully evicted from the Bala Murghab, Ghurmach, and Qades districts and analysts believe the Taliban have patiently set up a complex intelligence and support network that reaches deep into neighboring Faryab province," Matt Dupee said in a report on the security situation in Badghis in December 2007.
The provincial government has worked with Spanish troops operating in Badghis in an attempt to improve the security situation. Afghan forces captured Dastagir in neighboring Herat province.
The Taliban modify tactics
The Taliban are using smaller forces than attacks in the previous years. In 2006 and 2007, the Taliban would mass battalion-sized forces of several hundreds of fighters to attack NATO and Afghan forces. The formations were easy prey for Coalition airpower, and the Taliban often took more than 100 casualties during a single engagement.

Seven Taliban killed after ambush in Paktika

The Taliban continue their attacks in eastern Afghanistan. Afghan soldiers killed seven Taliban after their convoy was ambushed in the Sar Hawza district in Paktika province. "Their bodies were left on the battlefield," a spokesman for the provincial governor told AFP
The Taliban have launched a series of attacks against district centers and Afghan and Coalition forces in eastern Afghanistan. Paktika, Paktia, and Khost provinces have seen an increase in attacks over the past two weeks. The Taliban are attempting to destabilize the eastern region and overrun Afghan government centers. Many of the attacks have originated from Pakistan.

Islamic Leader In Chad Who Called For A 'HolyWar' Against Christians Is Arrested, 70 Of His Followers Killed

Apparently some schmuck islamic leader in the African country of Chad has been calling for a 'holy war' against Christians and atheists across Africa and in Europe and when his spear carrying army met the government's troops with automatic weapons...well, it wasn't that much of a battle. The kingpin was arrested and the threat abated. Here's the scoop from AustraliaBroadcasting:

The 28-year-old Muslim holy man, or sheikh Ahmat Ismael Bichara, was arrested after hundreds of his disciples armed with swords, spears, bows and clubs fought gendarmes armed with automatic rifles at a south-eastern village on Sunday and Monday.
Four members of the Chadian security forces were also killed and six wounded in the one-sided battles at Kouno, 300 kilometres south-east of the Chadian capital N'Djamena.
Bichara, his lip bloodied, wearing a white robe and reciting verses from the Koran, was presented by the authorities to journalists in N'Djamena overnight along with seven of his captured followers.

"Since June 3, he has been calling on all Muslims to prepare to engage in a holy war against Christians and atheists, saying that the war would be launched from Chad to as far as Denmark," Security Minister Ahmat Mahamat Bachir said.

This is just another north African country to fall into this islamic jihad scenario - it literally stretches from Somalia to Morocco. And all it takes is one nutcase like this Bichara to light the fuse and set off a violent blood bath. The mess in Somalia and and the continued violence in Algeria all started in a similar way.

Which brings to point what will be done to fight this islamic threat in northern Africa. Most of these countries are not linked to each other and quite frankly, are at odds in their forms of government and philosophies, so they are prime areas for the islamist jihadists to form, grow and strike out.

Chad halts 'holy war' by Muslim leader, 70 killed

Ministers in the landlocked ethnically mixed African country, where just over the half the population is Muslim, said the Government had been obliged to act against the Islamic holy man to stop him triggering a religious war in the country.
"Since June 3, he has been calling on all Muslims to prepare to engage in a holy war against Christians and atheists, saying that the war would be launched from Chad to as far as Denmark," Security Minister Ahmat Mahamat Bachir said.
Cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad published by newspapers in Denmark in 2006 touched off a wave of violent protests in Islamic countries.
Largely arid Chad has suffered waves of violence over the last few years, including not just raids over the eastern border from Sudan by Janjaweed militia and attacks by anti-government rebels, but also bloody clashes between Arab and non-Arab communities.
Some analysts describe east Chad, along with neighbouring Darfur, as a tribal and religious tinderbox.
"Ahmat Ismael Bichara's actions could have plunged the country into fire and blood," Information Minister Mahamat Hissene said.

Terror Attack In Indonesia Foiled - Westerners Targeted

A terror plot in Indonesia's capital of Jakarta has been foiled by security police there - and this would have been a bad one, with over 22 bombs seized during the arrests. Here's some of the report from Breitbart:

At least 22 bombs were seized during raids Wednesday in Palembang, a coastal city on Sumatra. Some were packed with bullets to maximize the impact of the blast, Nataprawira said

The arrests began Saturday in the Sumatran village of Sekayu when police captured 35-year-old Singaporean terror suspect Abu Hazam, who allegedly met with bin Laden on several occasions and received training in Afghanistan, the police said.
"He admitted giving bomb-making training to a number of Palembang residents implicated with the terror network," said Nataprawira.

It isn't exactly clear from the article which terror group in Indonesia these jihadists are tied to - whether it is actually Jemaah Islamiyah or the faction that broke off from Jemaah awhile ago. Either way this has al Qaeda fingerprints all over it. If you recall, it was the Bali bombing that killed over 200 people that was the doing of the al Qaeda linked terrorists in Indonesia.

As is always the case in Indonesia, one will have to hold his breath as to the disposition of these terrorists - Indonesia has a legal precedent that maintains that sufficient proof has to be submitted within seven days or these guys would walk.

As you will see in the article, the capital city of Jakarta was not the first chosen target of this group as they originally wanted to hit the isle of Sumatra but changed that after they felt too many Indonesians would be killed in the Sumatra operation.

Police foil terror attack on Indonesian capital

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) - Anti-terror police arrested 10 suspected Muslim militants and seized a large cache of high-powered bombs, foiling a major attack targeting Westerners in the Indonesian capital, police and media reports said Thursday.
Among those detained was a Singaporean who met several times with Osama bin Laden, a senior police officer told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media.
The arrests highlighted the lingering terror threat in Indonesia, which has been hit by a string of suicide bombings blamed on the regional terror group Jemaah Islamiyah since Sept. 11, 2001, including the 2002 attacks on Bali island that left 202 people dead, many of them foreign tourists.
There were no immediate details about the timing or the exact location of the planned strike in Jakarta.
Some of the suspects told police during interrogations that they had initially planned to attack foreign tourists on Sumatra Island, but shifted their target to Jakarta after realizing too many Indonesian lives could have been lost, TVOne quoted anti-terror police as saying.
The militants canceled a planned attack on Kafe Bedudel, a small cafe in the hilly resort town of Bukittinggi in West Sumatra, police spokesman Abubakar Nataprawira told reporters Thursday.
The Indonesian government has won praise for arresting and convicting hundreds of Islamic militants since the Bali attacks, leaving the terror network severely weakened and isolated, with the most recent strike occurring more than 2 1/2 years ago.
Citing improvements in security, the United States lifted a travel warning early this year that had been in place since 2000 and there were no immediate plans to reverse that decision.
"The Indonesian government's response to the threat has improved," said Tristram Perry, the public diplomacy officer at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. "If anything, these busts validate the lifting of the ban."
At least 22 bombs were seized during raids Wednesday in Palembang, a coastal city on Sumatra. Some were packed with bullets to maximize the impact of the blast, Nataprawira said.
Many were ready to use, he said, adding that dozens of pounds of explosive powder, grenades and several types of electric detonators also were recovered.

The reports said the man, also known as Omar, tipped police off to the whereabouts of two other suspects, Abdul Rahman and an unidentified alleged bomb-maker, who were arrested Monday. Six others were netted Wednesday and a seventh before dawn Thursday.
All but one of the men were flown to the capital, their faces covered by black masks as they disembarked from the police aircraft. If found guilty of violating anti-terrorism laws, they face a maximum penalty of death.
Lawyers have agreed to represent the alleged militants and will be present when police begin formal questioning, according to a group of attorneys that specializes in defending terror suspects.
If sufficient evidence is not found after seven days, they must be released
