Muslim Brotherhood says HQ under attack as hundreds of thousands of Egyptians stream onto the streets

One can only hope that the whole damn country burns to the ground.

THIS is what democracy looks like!

The story comes from The Jerusalem Post.

Muslim Brotherhood says HQ under attack as hundreds of thousands of Egyptians stream onto the streets

More than 200,000 anti-Morsi protesters gather in Cairo's Tahrir Square, while over 100,000 go out on the streets in Alexandria; over 20,000 Morsi supporters congregate near the presidential palace in Cairo.

CAIRO - Egypt's ruling Muslim Brotherhood said its Cairo headquarters came under attack on Sunday from scores of anti-government protesters firing shotguns and throwing petrol bombs and rocks.

The attack came amid mass protests of hundreds of thousands of Egyptians on the first anniversary of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi's inauguration demanding his resignation.

Brotherhood spokesman Gehad El-Haddad said he was in contact by telephone with staff at the compound, who told him its fortified perimeter had not been penetrated. Several provincial offices of the movement have been attacked in recent days.

One person was killed and more than two dozen injured in fighting on Sunday between Morsi supporters and opponents in the Nile city of Beni Suef, south of Cairo, security sources said. It was the first death reported on the day.

Waving national flags and chanting "Get out!", a crowd of more than 200,000 had massed by sunset on Cairo's central Tahrir Square in the biggest demonstration since the 2011 uprising that overthrew Morsi's predecessor, Hosni Mubarak.

"The people want the fall of the regime!" they shouted, echoing the Arab Spring rallying cry that brought down Mubarak - this time yelling it not against an aging dictator but against the first elected leader in Egypt's 5,000 year recorded history.

Many bellowed their anger at Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood, accused of hijacking the revolution and using electoral victories to monopolize power and push through Islamic law.

Others have been alienated by a deepening economic crisis and worsening personal security, aggravated by a political deadlock over which Morsi has presided.

As the working day ended and 38 Celsius (100 Fahrenheit) heat eased, more protesters converged through the eerily deserted streets of the shuttered city center, while smaller crowds protested in several other areas of the capital.

The veteran leaders of Egypt's secular, liberal and left-wing opposition, including former chief of the UN nuclear watchdog Mohamed ElBaradei and leftist presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi, joined protest marches in Cairo.

A Reuters journalist said hundreds of thousands of anti-government protesters marched through the Mediterranean port of Alexandria, Egypt's second city, and a military source reported protests in at least 20 towns around the country.

Morsi, an engineering professor propelled to power by the Muslim Brotherhood, was monitoring events from the heavily guarded Qubba presidential palace, where an official spokesman appealed for the demonstrations to remain peaceful.

"Maintaining the security of Egypt is the common responsibility of everyone," presidential spokesman Ehab Fahmy told a news conference. "Dialogue is the only way to reach mutual understanding and to reach national agreement around the different issues of our homeland."

Legitimacy

Security sources said three Brotherhood offices were set on fire by demonstrators in towns in the Nile Delta - the latest in more than a week of sporadic violence in which hundreds have been hurt and several killed, including a Jewish American student.

More than 20,000 supporters of Morsi congregated outside a Cairo mosque not far from another suburban presidential palace, where protest organizers planned a sit-in from Sunday evening.

Morsi voiced his determination to ride out what he sees as an undemocratic attack on his electoral legitimacy. But he also offered to revise the new, Islamist-inspired constitution, saying clauses on religious authority, which fueled liberal resentment, were not his choice.

He made a similar offer last week, after the head of the army issued a strong call for politicians to compromise. But the opposition dismissed it as too little to late. They hope Morsi will resign in the face of large numbers on the streets.

"We call on Mohamed Morsi, who has completely lost the legitimacy of his power, to quickly respond to the clear will of the people which is plain today in all corners of revolutionary Egypt," the June 30 movement, which organized a nationwide petition demanding his resignation, said in a statement.

Some Egyptians seem to believe the army might force the president's hand, if not to quit then at least to make major concessions to the opposition.

In Cairo, demonstrators stopped to shake hands and take photographs with soldiers guarding key buildings. At least six high-ranking police officers took to the Tahrir Square podium in support of demonstrators, a Reuters witness said.

American College Student Living In Egypt Because He Cared So Deeply For the Arabs and the Middle East Gets a Knife Driven Through His Heart At Alexandria, Egypt Protest

You know, when your ideal is to live amongst the likes of the Muslim Brotherhood and you have this pie-in-the-sky dream of peace on earth in the Middle East, sometimes those dreams can be shattered and sometimes you even lose your life.  And yet another young American who bought into the idea of moderate Muslims, of peace in the Middle East is dead and gone at the age of 21 - murdered by the swine he thought held hope.

Sad.  But the reality needs to be exposed.

The story comes from The Telegraph.

American student killed in Egypt protest 'cared profoundly' for region

An American university student killed during a protest in Egypt was in the country teaching English to children and improving his Arabic because he "cared profoundly" about the region, his family has said.

Andrew Pochter, 21, from Chevy Chase, Maryland, died after being stabbed in the chest in the coastal city of Alexandria, where anti-government protesters stormed an office of the ruling Muslim Brotherhood.

It was not clear what Mr Pochter was doing at the protest, but Egyptian officials said he was carrying a small camera. His family said they believed he had been witnessing the protest as a bystander.

In a statement, the family said Mr Pochter had travelled to Alexandria for the summer to teach English to 7- and 8-year-old Egyptian children and to improve his Arabic.

"He went to Egypt because he cared profoundly about the Middle East, and he planned to live and work there in the pursuit of peace and understanding," it said.

Mr Pochter was looking forward to beginning his junior year at Ohio's Kenyon College and had planned to study abroad in Jordan next spring.

"Andrew was a wonderful young man looking for new experiences in the world and finding ways to share his talents while he learned," it said.

Mr Pochter was in Morocco at the height of the Arab Spring in 2011 and wrote an article for the website of the Al-Arabiya News network in which he said: "The revolutionary events in Tunisia and Egypt introduced a swath of ideas and surfaced unprecedented political potential."

At Kenyon College, where he was due to graduate in 2015, Mr Pochter was a student leader in Hillel House, a "campus centre for Jewish life".

Before starting at Kenyon, Mr Pochter attended Blue Ridge School, a private boarding school for boys in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was a keen lacrosse player and won an award for citizenship before graduating in 2010.

Smiling and wearing his school blazer and striped bow-tie, he was featured on the front cover of the spring/summer 2010 issue of The Bridge, the school's magazine.

He won a scholarship with the The National Security Language Initiative for Youth, a scheme sponsored by the US State Department for high school students to learn less commonly taught languages during summer trips abroad.

A statement from Kenyon College said Mr Pochter was interning in Alexandria with AMIDEAST, an American non-profit organisation that runs education and development programs in the Middle East and North America.

Kathleen O'Neil, an American teacher who worked with Mr Pochter in Egypt, said in an online posting that she could not believe "such a gifted, enthusiastic, informed, curious, adventurous and positive human being is gone".

The Muslim Brotherhood said eight of its offices had been attacked on Friday, including the one in Alexandria. Officials said more than 70 people had been injured in the clashes in the city, adding to growing tension ahead of mass rallies on Sunday aimed at unseating President Mohammed Morsi.

Nearly 50% of Jordanian Teen Boys Think Honor Killings Are Justified

Quite a peaceful and tolerant religion you created there, Mo.

The story comes from The Clarion Project.

Jordan Teens Think Honor Killings Justified, Study Says

Almost half of teenage boys and one in five girls in Amman, believe that killing a girl who has "dishonored" or shamed the family is justified.

A study conducted by researchers of Cambridge University's Institute of Criminology found that almost half of teenage boys and one in five girls interviewed in the capital, Amman, believe that killing a daughter, sister or wife who has "dishonored" or shamed the family is justified.

Honor crimes can include physical assaults, rape, acid attacks and disfigurement, as well as murder for a crime as small as kissing a boy.

A statement released by the university said that researchers surveyed over 850 students, and found that attitudes in support of honor killing are far more likely in adolescent boys with low education backgrounds.

The researchers said the study is the first of its kind to gauge attitudes about honor killings in the region.

According to the study the main factors behind these crimes include patriarchal and traditional worldviews, emphasis placed on female virtue and a more general belief that violence against others is morally justified.

"We noted substantial minorities of girls, well-educated and even irreligious teenagers who consider honor killing morally right, suggesting a persisting society-wide support for the tradition," said Professor Manuel Eisner, who led the study with graduate student Lana Ghuneim.

In all, 33.4% of all respondents either "agreed" or "strongly agreed" with situations that depict honor killings.

Boys were more than twice as likely to support honor killings; 46.1 percent of boys and 22.1 percent of girls agreed with at least two honor killing situations in the questionnaire. Sixty one percent of teenagers from the lowest level of educational background showed supportive attitudes towards “honor killing”, as opposed to only 21.1 percent where at least one family member has a university degree, the study said.

"We would expect that in the more rural and traditional parts of Jordan, support for honor killings would be even higher," said Professor Eisner.

Murder is punishable by death in Jordan, but for honor killings, courts can commute or reduce sentences, particularly if the victim’s family asks for leniency.

While stricter legislation has been introduced despite conservative fears, cultural support for violence against women who are seen as breaking norms has remained widespread.

Jordan's Queen Rania champions women's issues in the kingdom, and has long campaigned against honor killings.

Between 15 and 20 women die in so-called “honor” murders each year in the Arab kingdom, although the numbers are believed to be much higher since most honor killing crimes go unreported.

48 Dead In Nigeria When Muslims Attack Christians, Military Gets Involved

You know, you would think that a media outlet in India would have the balls to call a spade a spade...after all of the death and heartache brought upon the Hindus of India by the plague of Islam, you'd think that Times of India would have the sense and the balls to call the attacks in Nigeria what they are - Muslims attacking and killing Christians but no...hell no....look at the title of the article below.

This is bullshit.

48 killed in ethnic violence in central Nigeria

PAUL OHIA ABUJA: Raids by gunmen in central Nigeria and gun battles between soldiers and attackers have killed at least 48 people, including secondary school students, and left over 100 homes burnt.

A total of 48 people were murdered when attackers besieged three villages in Plateau state on Thursday, captain Salisu Mustapha, spokesman of the military in the state, said on Friday.

According to him, 28 villagers and 20 assailants died during the attack on residents and counter-attack by soldiers respectively.

The unknown attackers laid siege on the villages of Bolgang, Magama and Karkashi shooting indiscriminately resulting in the mass casualties, while the unhurt residents fled their homes to safety, Nigerian newspaper 'The Gurdian' quoted an eyewitness as saying.

Those killed at Magama are mostly children and elderly people.

Over 100 houses were also burnt by the rampaging attackers, a local official said.

The crisis, which was more of an attack, had the mainly Muslim Fulani ethnic group unleashing mayhem on the native Christian Taroks tribe in the early hours of Thursday morning, leaving many dead including secondary school students, the report said.

The assailants were cattle thieves who have become notorious for stealing livestocks from some community of herdsmen in the state, he said.

Similar violence had led to thousands of deaths since 1999 in the state.

Well, well, well.....Look Who Visited the White House Now....

From Family Security Matters.

Banned Cleric's Outspoken Deputy Visits White House

Radical Egyptian cleric Yusuf Qaradawi is considered so radical that the United States bans him from entering the country.

Qaradawi, considered the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, has called for the killing of Jews and Americans.

That history makes the June 13 White House meeting with Sheik Abdullah Bin Bayyah all the more inexplicable. Bin Bayyah is vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), a group founded by and headed by Qaradawi. The IUMS has a long history of supporting Hamas -a top Hamas leader is an IUMS member - and of calling for Israel's destruction.

Bin Bayyah's website claims that he met June 13 with senior Obama administration officials at the White House.

Nonetheless, it was the Obama administration which sought the meeting with Bin Bayyah, his website's account said.

"We asked for this meeting to learn from you and we need to be looking for new mechanisms to communicate with you and the Association of Muslim Scholars (another name used for the IUMS)," Gayle Smith, senior director of the National Security Council, reportedly said.

Bin Bayyah's June 13 account placed other senior officials in the meeting, including: Rashad Hussain, the U.S. special envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), National Security Adviser Tom Donilon and White House spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri. But the account was later changed to delete the reference to Donilon's presence at the meeting.

Smith also thanked Bin Bayyah for "his efforts to bring more understanding amongst humanity" during the meeting, the Bin Bayyah account said.

The White House did not respond to repeated requests for comments between June 14 and Tuesday.

Bin Bayyah lobbied the White House to "take urgent action" to help Syrian rebels. "We demand Washington take a greater role in [Syria]," Bin Bayyah told Al-Jazeera. President Obama later announced plans to arm Syrian rebels.

In granting Bin Bayyah a visa, White House officials ignored his radical statements as well as his close connection to Qaradawi. The IUMS's hostility toward Israel, and its support of terrorists, is well documented. Bin Bayyah falls comfortably in line with that view.

For example, in a 2011 statement on his Arabic-language website, he criticized the West for placing Palestinian terrorist groups such as Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and others in the same category as al-Qaida:

"[P]lacing the Palestinian resistance, which defends internationally recognized rights, on an equal footing with intercontinental terrorist organizations (al-Qaida) is not based on any moral principle and would be detrimental to the cause of the fight against terrorism and mix the cards and raises questions to the world conscience and serves terrorists."

The IUMS welcomed Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as a member in February 2012. The "Union will spare nothing in the service of the Palestinian people, praising the jihad of the Palestinian people with the leadership of the Hamas movement for resistance," Haniyeh's induction certificate said.

Jamal Badawi, a longtime ISNA board member, also is listed as a member of the IUMS Board of Trustees. Badawi has repeatedly defended Palestinian terrorism including suicide bombings. His name appears on the first page of a 1992 telephone directory of Muslim Brotherhood members in the United States, and he is listed as a fundraiser in records from the 2008 Holy Land Foundation Hamas financing trial.

Badawi's radical views fit in well with the IUMS, which has issued numerous statements against peace with Israel, calling for the "liberation of Palestine" from Jewish control. Each statement has been unyielding in calling on Muslims to destroy Israel and in forbidding them from making peace with the Jewish state.

After a board of trustees meeting in December, the IUMS issued a communique calling on Hamas and Fatah to reconcile in the name of "the core Palestinian values (including the right of return and resistance until the liberation of Palestine and its capital Jerusalem) ... Meanwhile, the union calls on the scholars of the nation to continue their religious role in enlightening the local and international public concerning the dangers that this Judaization policy in Jerusalem poses for the historic unity of the Palestinian territories which is religiously impermissible to give up one inch of it."

A photo on the group's website shows Bin Bayyah was present at the meeting.

In 2009, it issued a fatwa forbidding any normalization of relations with Israel. It came on the 42nd anniversary of the Six-Day War, and Israel's capturing of the Temple Mount.

"All political, economic, and cultural dealings and all forms of normalization with the Zionist entity are considered to be a form of supporting and sustaining the occupier in its occupation of land and holy places," the fatwa said. "Moreover, such actions are considered a form of loyalty to the enemy, which is religiously prohibited; as Allah (Exalted and Glorified be He) says: 'And if any amongst you takes them as Awliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), then surely he is one of them.'(Al-Ma'idah 5: 51). In conclusion, we call on all Muslims, rulers and citizens, to undertake their role, and embark on rescuing Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Blessed Land and freeing them from the clutches of the Zionist occupation."

Just last month, an IUMS-affiliated Egyptian cleric blamed the United States and Israel for driving Egyptian opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated government. Khaled Kholif invoked the anti-Semitic forgery, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, as evidence of his argument, the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch reported.

"America and Israel are pleased with [the Egyptian opposition] movements, which are led by the brainless," Kholif said during an appearance on Egypt's Al-Hafez television flagged by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). "They have said so in The Protocols. Let me tell you exactly what they said in The Protocols: 'We will strive to undermine security in the lands of the Gentiles, through reckless revolutions, led by the brainless.' It says so in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, as translated by Khalifa Al-Tunisi.

"If you haven't read it," Kholif said of the Protocols, "you should."

Embraced by American Islamists

Bin Bayyah previously met with White House envoy Rashad Hussain when Bin Bayyah participated in a July 2012 Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) conference in his native Mauritania.

His website also indicates he spoke at the ADAMS Center, a large northern Virginia mosque, while he was in Washington June 12.

In addition to his role as IUMS vice president , Bin Bayyah also is a member of the similarly anti-Semitic Qaradawi-founded European Council for Fatwa and Research and the OIC's International Islamic Fiqh Academy, the latter of which issued a resolution in January 2003 sanctioning Palestinian suicide bombings.

Qaradawi and Bin Bayyah show a keen mutual admiration of each other in their writing. Bin Bayyah notably referred to Qaradawi as "a mountain upon whose peak there is light" and as "a great reformer" who "spreads knowledge and wisdom" in a 2008 article published by Boston cleric Suhaib Webb. Qaradawi returned the favor three days later: "The reality is that the more I have come closer to him and got to know him better, the more I have loved him..."

That article also was published on Webb's site.

And like Qaradawi, Bin Bayyah claims Palestinian violence is acceptable under international law. Islamic law's approval is a given.

"He who adheres to international covenants can resist. The Palestinians. There are international conventions and there are international resolutions which give them rights but do not provide them with the means to obtain these rights. It is their right to resist," Bin Bayyah said during a 2010 Al-Jazeera broadcast. "So, that which says resistance, says kinds of resistance, including the use of weapons. So, international conventions do not stray too far from the interests Islamic Sharia oversees."

Bin Bayyah endorsed a push by Muslim intellectuals to get the United Nations to criminalize blasphemy against the Muslim prophet Muhammad and Islam, saying that it causes violence.

"To people of reason and understanding: We ask everyone to ponder the ramifications of provoking the feelings of over one billion people by a small party of people who desires not to seek peace nor fraternity between members of humanity," Bin Bayyah wrote in a post last fall. "This poses a threat to world peace with no tangible benefit realized. Is it not necessary in today's world for the United Nations to issue a resolution criminalizing the impingement of religious symbols? We request all religious and political authorities, as well as people of reason to join us in putting a stop to this futility that benefit no one."

Considering that this information is readily available on the Internet, it would not have been too difficult for White House officials to uncover that both Bin Bayyah and the IUMS support Palestinian terrorism and Israel's destruction. The White House visit also raises questions relative to the degree the Obama administration is willing to go to court the Muslim Brotherhood both at home and abroad.

Russia Is Pulling Out Of Syria

By Findalis
Monkey in the Middle

And they are doing it fast.  Very fast.

You know that things are heating up in Syria when longtime ally of Bashar al-Assad's Syria is pulling their troops out of Syria.  Add to that Israel going on high alert, President Obama and his Security Council is not concerned, and one can expect the area to blow up soon.
Shortly after the DEBKA aired a special video on the Syrian war’s widening circle, Moscow announced Wednesday June 26, that the evacuation which had begun Friday of all military and diplomatic personnel from Syria was now complete, including the Russian naval base at Tartus.

“Russia decided to withdraw its personnel because of the risks from the conflict in Syria, as well as the fear of an incident involving the Russian military that could have larger consequences,” said a defense ministry official in Moscow. He stressed that a 16-ship naval task force in the eastern Mediterranean remains on post and arms shipments, including anti-air weapons, would continue to the Syrian government in keeping with former contracts.

In another sign of an impending escalation in Syria, the Israeli Golan brigade staged Wednesday an unannounced war maneuver on the Golan, attended by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and top army chiefs. In London, Prime Minister David Cameron called the government’s National Security Council into session in Downing Street on Syria. Opposition leader Ed Milliband was invited to attend the meeting, a custom observed only when issues of the highest security importance are discussed.

Earlier Wednesday, debkafile carried the following report in its special video presentation under the heading: Putin and Obama cross swords on Syrian. What Next?

The sullen confrontation between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama at the G8 Summit in Northern Ireland last week condemned Syria to five months of escalating, unresolved vicious warfare – that is until the two leaders meet again in September.

For now, tempers are heating up between Washington and Moscow on Syria and other things too, notably the elusive American fugitive Edward Snowden.

Click here if the video doesn't load.

US and Israeli intelligence watchers see the Syrian crisis entering seven ominous phases:

1. The Syrian army plus allies and the fully-mobilized opposition will hurl all their manpower and weapons into winning the city.

Military experts don’t expect the rebels to hold out against Assad’s forces beyond late August.

2. Neither side has enough manpower or game-changing weaponry for winning the war outright.

That is, unless Presidents Obama or Putin steps in to retilt the balance.

3. The US and Russia are poised for more military intervention in the conflict up until a point just short of a military clash on Syrian soil – or elsewhere in the Middle East. US intelligence analysts have judged Putin ready to go all the way on Syria against the US - no holds barred.

The Russian president is meanwhile deliberately goading Washington and raising temperatures by playing hide-and-seek over the former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, charged with espionage for stealing and leaking classified intelligence. At home, he is considered variously as a traitor and a brave whistleblower.

For several hours Snowden vanished between Hong Kong and Moscow – until the Russian president admitted he was holed up in the transit area of Moscow airport and would not be extradited by Russia to the United States.

4. Iran, Hizballah and Iraq will likewise ratchet up their battlefield presence.

5. A violent encounter is building up between Middle East Shiites flocking to Syria to save the Assad regime alongside Russia, and the US-backed Sunni-dominated rebel forces.

It could scuttle the secret US-Iranian negotiating track on its nuclear program, which was buoyed up by the election of the pragmatic Hassan Rouhani as President of Iran.

6. The Geneva-2 Conference for a political solution for the Syrian crisis is dead in the water. Moscow and the US are divided by unbridgeable issues of principle, such whether Bashar Assad should stay or go and Iranian representation.

7. So long as the diplomatic remains stuck in the mud, the prospects of a regional war spreading out of the Syrian conflict are rising. Iran, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon may be dragged in at any moment – if they have not already, like Lebanon.

A small mistake by one of the Syrian warring parties in Syria could, for example, touch off Israeli retaliation and a wholesale spillover of violence.

Indonesia jails Islamic terror leader for 10 years

From The Times of India.

Indonesia jails Islamic terror leader for 10 years

JAKARTA: An Indonesian court on Thursday jailed an Islamist militant with links to one of Asia's most notorious terror leaders for 10 years for recruiting people to militant-training camps.

Badri Hartono led an extremist group called al-Qaida Indonesia and was found guilty of sending recruits to a militant camp on a jungle-clad island known as a terror hotbed.

Hartono also provided shelter in 2009 to terror leader Noordin Mohammed Top, head of a violent splinter faction of the radical Jemaah Islamiyah network that carried out attacks on Western targets, prosecutors said.

Hartono "recruited and sent people to Poso," judge Musa Arif Aini told the Jakarta court, referring to an area on Sulawesi island where militant training camps are based.

"He has been proven legally and convincingly guilty of being involved in testing of explosive materials and militant training."

His group had also planned attacks on security forces, according to prosecutors.

Analysts said it was not clear whether Hartono's group was linked to the real al-Qaida, but many groups have copied the name of the terror outfit founded by Osama bin Laden.

Noordin, the self-proclaimed leader of "al-Qaida in the Malay Archipelago", was accused of masterminding attacks on Jakarta's Marriott hotel that killed 12 people in 2003, as well as the 2005 bombings on Bali that killed 20.

After a long and bloody hunt, he was finally killed in a raid outside Solo city in Central Java province in September 2009.

In previous hearings, Hartono denied being the leader of al-Qaida Indonesia but admitted that he knew Noordin. He said he accepted on Thursday's verdict and would not appeal.

Indonesia, which has the world's biggest Muslim population, has waged a crackdown on militant groups over the past decade since a string of terror attacks on Western targets.

The crackdown has been credited with weakening key networks.

Just Because Barack Hussein Obama Is Helping the Islamists In America Doesn't Mean Your State Can't Stop Them

From The Clarion Project.

Taking Action: State Initiatives to Combat Islamism in the U.S.

The failure to confront the Islamist ideology on the federal level does not mean that nothing can be done. States laws are now taking on this task.

The failure to recognize, let alone confront, the Islamist ideology on the federal level does not mean that nothing can be done. An increasing number of states are passing or considering legislation designed to take on this task.

Below are five initiatives you can promote in your state:

American Laws for American Courts

In 2011, the Center for Security Policy released a studied titled Shariah Law and American State Courts: An Assessment of State Appellate Court Cases. The study found 50 appellate court cases in 23 states where Shariah-based legislation from 16 foreign countries contradicted American law.

The primary victims of this “conflict of law” are Muslim-Americans. A review of 10 cases where Shariah-based law and American law clashed in court found:

“In cases 1-3, the Appellate Courts upheld Shariah law; in cases 4-7, the Trial Courts upheld Shariah, but the Appellate Courts reversed (protecting the litigant’s constitutional rights); in cases 8-10, both Trial and Appellate Courts rejected the attempts to enforce Shariah law.”

The American Public Policy Alliance explains that unclear state law has resulted in “the courts and the litigants hav[ing] repeatedly failed to recognize that comity to a foreign judgment may be at odds with our state and federal constitutional principles…”

American Laws for American Courts is model legislation that prohibits courts from putting foreign law before American law. This has often been described as “Anti-Shariah” legislation, but it doesn’t even mention Shariah or Islam. Its purpose is to protect Americans from being abused by any kind of foreign law.

American Laws for American Courts has been passed in Tennessee, Louisiana, Arizona, Kansas and Oklahoma. It was recently passed by the Alabama legislature as a constitutional amendment and will soon be put to a vote by the people. In Missouri, the legislature will meet in September to try to override the Governor’s veto of the bill.

Free Speech Defense Act

Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld was sued by a Saudi billionaire named Khalid bin Mahfouz because her book linked him to terrorism-financing. Because 23 copies of the book were bought online in the United Kingdom, Mahfouz was able to exploit the U.K.’s libel laws and sue Ehrenfeld even though she lives in America. Altogether, he targeted 45 publishers and journalists and only she refused to settle.

In 2008, the United Nations Human Rights Committee warned that loose libel laws “discourage critical media reporting on matters of serious public interest, adversely affecting the ability of scholars and journalists to publish their work, including through the phenomenon known as ‘libel tourism.’”

Federal legislation called the SPEECH Act, also known as “Rachel’s Law,” has been passed but there is a glaring loophole that could result in Americans being denied a trial in U.S. courts.

The Free Speech Defense Act protects the First Amendment rights of Americans from foreign libel tourism. A modified version of this legislation has been passed in South Dakota, New York, California, Illinois, Florida, Utah, Tennessee, Louisiana, Maryland and Oklahoma. It is pending in the South Carolina legislature.

Andy’s Law

“Andy’s Law” is named after Private William “Andy” Long, a soldier who was shot to death by an Islamist terrorist outside of a recruiting station in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2009.

On June 1, 2009, terrorism literally hit home in Little Rock, Arkansas when a jihadist terrorist, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad (formerly known as Carlos Bledsoe) shot two US Army soldiers outside a recruiting office in a shopping mall. Private William “Andy” Long was killed. Private Quinton I. Ezeagwula was wounded.

To fully comprehend the true nature of the threat of terrorism, one must understand that, though Muhammad has been labeled a “lone wolf,” such terrorism does not happen in a vacuum.

Before he became Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, Carlos Bledsoe was recruited. He was indoctrinated. He was selected to receive training in the far off land of Yemen and, after that training, he committed horrible acts of terrorism in what he himself termed “jihad.”

Terrorism doesn’t just happen. Terrorism is committed and terrorist acts are perpetrated by individuals who are motivated and trained. In some cases they are funded directly, but all of the activities involving recruitment, indoctrination and training cost money.

All of these types of activity form material support for terrorism. Not only did Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad commit a horrific act of terrorism, but others provided support that eventually led to his act. For that, those people should have been made to pay. Unfortunately, there was no specific mechanism to see to it that they should pay.

Andy’s Law was designed to change that.

The law allows for seizure of the assets “including money, used in the course of, intended for use in the course of, derived from, or realized through” terrorism. This would empower law enforcement to prevent terrorists, or attempted terrorists, from keeping their assets.

The bill also creates a civil cause of action against terrorists by victims that allows victims to recover actual damages, treble damages and attorney fees. The pain of the terrorist attack does not end with the healing of wounds. Victims suffer financially, further exasperating their emotional stress. Inspired by the documentary Losing Our Sons, this legislation permits the distribution of some of the seized terrorist assets to the victims to help cover damages and legal fees.

This law would allow victims of terrorism to sue those who committed the terrorist act; those who provide material support for the terrorist act; those who make a terrorist threat; those who falsely communicate a terrorist threat; those who hinder prosecution of terrorism; those who expose the public to toxic biological, chemical or radioactive substances, or those who use a hoax substance.

Current state laws do not clearly establish such a cause of action. Further, some states lack their own RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations ) statute, which in some other states would provide some remedy. The federal RICO statute does not provide meaningful remedies because it only allows damages for business losses and property damage, and not for personal injury or wrongful death.

By passing Andy’s Law, Arkansas has set the example for other states, in particular Tennessee, where Carlos Bledsoe became Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, and empower state and local law enforcement, as well as victims of terrorism to not just prosecute the perpetrators of acts of terrorism but also those who provide material support—funding, recruitment, indoctrination, training and other forms of support--which lead up to those acts.

Forms of this legislation have been passed in Arkansas and Louisiana.

Disclosure of Foreign Gifts to Higher Education Act

It is not rare for Middle Eastern money to make its way to American universities. This legislation does not prohibit foreign gifts, but requires their disclosure by public colleges and universities so they can be held accountable.

The legislation does not stop Islamist groups in the U.S. from making donations to universities, with the Muslim Brotherhood-linked International Institute of Islamic Thought being a prime example. However, it goes a long way in establishing transparency.

This law has been passed in New York, Louisiana and Utah.

Female Genital Mutilation Act

This legislation specifically outlaws the act of female genital mutilation, sometimes euphemistically referred to as “female circumcision.” It is a common and brutal practice in the Islamic world.

The passing of this bill stiffens penalties for this crime. To avoid state penalties this crime, perpetrators of FGM have transported their victims who are minors across state lines. This bill closes that loophole.

A total of 21 states have outlawed this practice, with Louisiana and Kansas being the most recent additions. The bill is pending in Pennsylvania.

Life As a Shia Muslim In This World Is No Bed of Roses

Of course, it must be pointed out that the persecution of Shia Muslims across this world is NOT at the hands of Christians. Nor at the hands of Buddhists or Hindus or even atheists.  Hell no.  It's at the hands of their brothers in Allah - the Sunnis.

The story comes from DAWN.

Shias under attack across the globe

From Cairo to Peshawar, Shias are under attack by Sunni militants. The sectarian warfare targeting Shias has left thousands dead. The rest of the world watches silently as Muslims self-destruct in sectarian wars.

Earlier on Sunday, a lynch mob near Cairo (Zawyat Abu Musalam), Egypt, murdered four Shias who had taken refuge in a house. The mob dragged their corpses in the street as hundreds watched from the rooftops. In Iraq, a series of bombs continue to kill and maim Shias. In Pakistan, Sunni militants attacked a mosque killing 15 Shias on June 21. In Bahrain, the Saudi-backed regime continues to harass the Shia majority, which is demanding more political rights.

Across the globe, the Shia-Sunni schism has taken a turn for the worst. The Syrian conflict has pitched the Iran-backed Alawite regime against the Sunni majority, who is being supported by Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and other Gulf states. What may have started as an internal conflict in Syria has transformed into a sectarian civil war, which threatens to plunge the billion-plus Muslims in a bloody sectarian warfare.

Sheikh Hassan Shehata, a prominent Shia scholar in Egypt, was attacked and killed in his house along with three others in Zawyat Abu Musalam. The mob numbering hundreds set the Sheikh’s house on fire. Initial medical reports suggest that Sheikh’s neck was cut with a sharp object while severe trauma was inflicted on his and others’ skulls. The grisly videos posted on the Internet show the mob, including several women, watching the brutal attack, but making no attempt to stop it.

The Muslim Brotherhood, the right-wing group that supports Egyptian President, Mohammed Morsi, has been pandering to the Salafists to muster support against the Egyptian National Opposition, who have threatened massive street protests on June 30. The underhand dealings between the Egypt’s ruling party and the Salafists made it possible for the extremists to run a campaign of fear against Shias over the past two weeks that culminated with the murder of the Sheikh and his followers.

If it were not for the brave activist, Hazem Barakat, who tweeted the videos and his willingness to testify against those who orchestrated the lynching, the world would not have known of the brutality of these attacks.

The hitherto unresolved conflict in Iraq continues to add victims as suicide and car bombings by the extremists continue to kill Shias. Earlier on Monday, a series of bomb blasts in and near Baghdad killed 42 people. Since April 2013, more than 2,000 have perished in sectarian violence in Iraq. The blasts were staged strategically in Shia neighbourhoods in Baghdad.

In Pakistan, the militants have literally run over the country where they target Shias and other minorities at will. Even worse, the militants have started to target the judges who have heard cases against the militants. The bomb attack on the High Court judge, Maqbool Baqar, which left him with serious injuries while his driver and eight others in his security details died, is a clear message from the militants that they have no interest in respecting the State or its institutions.

The Taliban spokesperson while speaking to the media revealed that they targeted Justice Baqar for his “anti-Taliban and anti-mujahideen decisions.”

Earlier in the week, armed men dressed as paramilitary police in a remote mountainous area in Pakistan attacked a hotel killing nine foreign tourists. The Pakistani Taliban took responsibility for the attack, which they claimed was in retaliation to a drone strike that killed a Taliban commander, Waliur Rahman.

The attack on the tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan is eerily similar to the attacks on Shias in the past in the same part of Pakistan. In August 2012, armed men wearing uniforms of paramilitary police stopped three buses near Mansehra and killed 20 Shias after removing them from the buses. It was the third such attack in six months.

You've Come a Long Way Baby! Let's Look At Muslim Women's Rights In Saudi Arabia Since 622 AD

From Family Security Matters.

Women’s Rights in Saudi Arabia from 622 - 2013

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah recently made history with a royal decree, declaring a new era in politics and in social culture.

The Monarch appoints 150 Majlis al Shura Council members as his advisors in areas such as education, health, Islamic affairs, economy and finance. King Abdullah appointed 30 women to the council. Appointed women are influential, two are royal princesses. The Monarch also granted women the right to vote in local elections in 2015; although they cannot vote for high offices or hold elected office.

Angry Wahhabi clerics protested outside the Royal court in Riyadh. They posted insults on Twitter such as "the filth of society" and "prostitutes", to describe these female academics and technocrats.

Saudi Arabia is home to Islam's two holiest shrines, Mecca and Medina. Muhammad was born in Mecca. The King is descended from him. Saudi is the largest country on the Saudi Peninsula, which jets into the Arabian and Red Seas, and the Persian Gulf. It borders Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Yemen, and Qatar.

Since King Abdulaziz Al-Saud unified most of the Arab Peninsula and established the modern Kingdom of Saudi in 1932, it has transformed into a major player on the international stage with a developed economy. It plays a leading role in OPEC. Riyadh is a modern city.

Saudi society remains ruled by Islamic tradition and tribal rule. Sexual segregation, keeps wives, sisters and daughters from contact with men. Social events maintain the separation. Most Saudi homes have one entrance for women, another for men.

A girl born in Saudi Arabia is required to have a male guardian. Ownership of a female is passed from the father or the brother to another man, the husband, who becomes the new guardian.

Family honor requires the male guardian to protect females under his care. He controls her behavior, her modesty and her respectability. Females deemed to dishonor their guardian are subject to honor killing.

Al Arabiya television airs programs on the correct ways for a man to discipline and to beat his wife, complete with the size of sticks that should and should not be used, advice on the occasions of when it is appropriate or not appropriate to beat her; parts of the body that should not be struck, and more.

Proper dress, which means covering parts of the body not meant to be exposed, is part of family honor. In some Arab countries, a women's face may be exposed. However in much of Saudi Arabia only the hands and the eyes may be exposed. Women wear the hijab head covering and an abaya full cloak and a face veil.

Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that bans women from driving. Permission from their guardian is needed to work. Permission and a male relative escort are needed to travel. Women are allowed to be educated. Saudi Arabia boasts Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University, the worlds largest all female university. 60% of graduates from Saudi universities are women, however only 17% join the job market.

Another of the controversial reforms introduced by the King is that lingerie shops, jewelry shops and shops selling abayas are now allowed to be staffed by women.

Nathalie Morin is a French Canadian living is Saudi for 8 years. She wrote in English on an Internet Twitter that she was in financial distress, her husband was abusing her, there was no food, no drinkable water, and she was imprisoned in the home. She wrote about her children being hungry and asked for help from the Canadian Government.

Two Saudi women's rights activists Wajeha Al-Huweidar and Fawzia Alj-Uyouni were arrested while attempted to bring food and water to Morin. Each has been convicted of inciting a wife against her husband, and trying to kidnap Morin and her children and take them to the Canadian Embassy in Riyadh. Each were sentenced to 10 months in prison. Detractors of the government say the women were imprisoned on trumped up charges because they fight for the right of women to drive, and they want the Guardian Rules changed.

King Abdullah has taken steps to promote the cause of women, and several female members of the Shura Council voice their concerns relating to family, under aged marriage, women's status, the right to drive, and women's unemployment. These outstanding women want to send a message that Islam is not an obstacle to the participation of Muslim women in all parts of life.

If history is a measure, Saudi women will be not driving or guardian free for many years.

Muslims In China Go On Rampage, 9 Police Killed Before Security Forces Mow Down 18 Rioters

This is probably one of the worst instances of China's Muslim problem in Xinjiang province to date as mobs of Chinese Uighur Muslims took to rioting and attacking non-Muslims - 9 police and security forces were killed when the mobs descended on police stations before the police and security forces opened up the firepower and started mowing down the rioters.

When the dust and "allahu ackbars" had settled, 27 people in total are dead.

Once again we see proof that no country on earth is left untouched by the violence of the prophet Mohammed.

The story comes from DAWN.

Riots in China's Xinjiang region kill 27: Xinhua

BEIJING:Riots in China's ethnically divided Xinjiang region on Wednesday left 27 people dead, according to state media which said police opened fire on “knife-wielding mobs”.

It was the latest spasm of violence to hit the troubled western region, which is about twice the size of Turkey and is home to around nine million members of the mostly Muslim Uighur ethnic minority.

Police shot at “mobs” who had attacked police stations, a local government building and a construction site, the Xinhua news agency said, citing local officials.

“Seventeen people had been killed... before police opened fire and shot dead 10 rioters,” it said.

The mobs were also “stabbing at people and setting fire to police cars”, the report said.

Nine police or security guards and eight civilians were killed before police opened fire, the report said, adding that three other people were taken to hospital with injuries.

The clashes occurred early Wednesday in an area about 100 kilometres from the desert city of Turpan and about 250 kilometres from the regional capital Urumqi.

The reason for the violence was not immediately clear, and police in Turpan refused to comment when contacted by AFP.

Many of Xinjiang's Uighur community complain of religious and cultural repression by Chinese authorities, and the region is regularly hit by unrest.

Dilshat Rexit, a spokesman for the World Uyghur Congress, an exile group branded by Beijing as “separatist”, said “continued repression and provocation is the cause of conflict”. His comment came in a statement sent to AFP after news of the violence emerged.

China reported that 21 people died in clashes between police and locals in the region in April, which the government said were caused by “terrorists”.

Chinese authorities have often blamed such violence in the region on “terrorists”, and a court in Xinjiang recently jailed nine people for “religious extremism”.

China said clashes in 2011 that killed 19 were organised by terrorists who trained in Pakistan and were part of a separatist movement seeking an independent state in Xinjiang.

Uighur rights groups have dismissed the claims of terrorism, citing economic inequality and religious repression as causes of unrest.

The region's worst ethnic violence in recent years occurred in July 2009, when riots involving Uighurs and settlers from China's Han ethnic majority killed around 200 people in Urumqi.

Those clashes lead to a major security push in the region, which rights groups have said led to intense monitoring of Uighurs by security forces.

A specialised anti-terrorism unit of the People's Liberation Army carried out drills in April, according to a previous report by the PLA Daily.

The region saw more than half of China's trials for the charge of “endangering state security” last year, but is home to less than two per cent of the country's population, suggesting “ethnic discrimination”, the Dui Hua Foundation advocacy group said.

Beijing has launched a stream of high-profile investment projects in an attempt to boost economic growth in the relatively poor region, which has rich reserves of coal and gas.

According to official figures, 46 per cent of Xinjiang's population are Uighur, while another 39 per cent are Han Chinese, after millions from the majority group moved there in recent decades in search of jobs.

The Han settlement drive, which has been mirrored in Tibet, has fostered tensions with the existing community.

The Uighurs, who mostly follow Sunni Islam, speak a Turkic language and have ethnic links with groups in neighbouring countries including Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Xinjiang's regional government was not available for comment on Wednesday's violence.

China's foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a regular briefing that she was aware of reports, without giving further information.

Information about unrest in Xinjiang is tightly controlled by China's ruling Communist Party, and the government blocked Internet access across the region for several months following the clashes in 2009.

Texas Tells The U.S. Supreme Court To Go Fuck Itself and Its Voter ID Decision

Way to go, Texas.

Is there another state in the Union that knows its rights?

Is there another state in the Union that isn't scared of homosexuals, minorities and Commie pinkos?

Is there another state that wants the best of the best in the country to move there?

The story comes from Family Security Matters.

Texas immediately restores voter ID law after Supreme Court decision

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott announced Tuesday his state will re-establish its voter ID law after the Supreme Court struck down a section of the 1965 Voting Rights Act that required certain states to seek federal approval before changing the electoral process.

Congress must devise a new racial calculus to determine which counties and states must petition the federal government to change election laws, the majority announced.

Texas greeted the ruling with plans to implement its suspended voter ID laws and district maps.

"With today's decision, the State's voter ID law will take effect immediately. Redistricting maps passed by the Legislature may also take effect without approval from the federal government," Abbott's statement read.

In March 2012, the Department of Justice struck down the law, claiming it would disproportionally affect the state’s growing Hispanic population. Gov. Rick Perry pushed back fiercely, calling the decision “pervasive federal overreach.”

“The DOJ has no valid reason for rejecting this important law, which requires nothing more extensive than the type of photo identification necessary to receive a library card or board an airplane,” the governor said in a statement.

Abbott praised the court’s decision and the removal of the unequal application of federal laws.

“The U.S. Constitution establishes one United States — not a divided nation with different laws applying to different states. Laws that apply unequally to just some states have no place in our nation,” his statement read. “Today’s ruling ensures that Texas is no longer on of just a few states that must seek approval from the federal government before its election laws can take effect.”

Taliban launch suicide assault on Presidential palace, CIA HQ in Kabul

Remind me again...why are we sitting down to peace talks and governmental transition talks with these jihadis?

The story comes from The Long War Journal.

Taliban launch suicide assault on Presidential palace, CIA HQ in Kabul

The Taliban claimed credit for a complex suicide assault that targeted the Presidential palace in Kabul just hours before President Hamid Karzai was to address reporters today. The CIA headquarters at the Ariana Hotel was also said to have been targeted in the attack.

The attack began early in the morning as Taliban fighters penetrated security at a high-security gate said to be used by only the most senior Afghan government officials, The New York Times reported. Kabul's chief of police claimed that a guard at the gate spotted a fake ID card, and then the Taliban suicide assault team exited the vehicle and opened fire. But unnamed security officials told the Times that two vehicles were able to bypass security at the gate.

Afghan and US security forces battled the Taliban fighters for nearly two hours before the assault was defeated. Five Taliban fighters and two Afghan guards were killed during the firefight, according to Reuters. More than 15 explosions were heard in the capital during the fighting, Khaama Press reported.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the main target of the attack was the CIA station at the Ariana Hotel. The CIA station has come under attack one other time in the past two years. On Sept. 25, 2011, an Afghan guard who is thought to have been a Taliban infiltrator opened fire at the hotel, killing an American, two Afghan soldiers, a presidential guard, and a CIA security guard.

Today's attack in Kabul is the second of its kind in the capital in two weeks. On June 11, a suicide bomber detonated outside of Afghanistan's Supreme Court, killing at least 16 civilians, including many who worked at the complex.

The attack in Kabul takes place as the international community is seeking a negotiated settlement with the Taliban after the group set up a "political office of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan" in Doha, Qatar. The Taliban has used the office as a de facto embassy, raising its flag and using the name Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, which is what the Taliban called itself when it ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001, and still calls itself to this day.

The Taliban have said they would step up attacks against "foreign invaders," or Coalition personnel operating under the command of the International Security Assistance Force, workers from non-governmental organizations operating in Afghanistan, and "officials and workers of the stooge Karzai regime." The Taliban stressed that suicide and insider attacks would be used, and warned Afghans to "stay away from the bases of the invaders, their residential areas or working for them in order to avoid civilian losses." [See LWJ report, Taliban promise suicide assaults, 'insider attacks' in this year's spring offensive.]

Over the past month, the Taliban and its allies, including the al Qaeda-affiliated Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, have stepped up suicide operations against the Coalition, NGOs, and Afghan institutions. There have been 10 high-profile suicide attacks, including the attack today in Kabul, since May 23.

Muslim Teen Boys Sentenced To Community Service For Raping 15 Year Old Swedish Girl

You see, when you have an entire country in fear of an uprising of a violent minority in its midst, you begin to see the courts become a facade - you start to see some of society's worst given a hand slap in order to avoid a great outburst by the rest of the unwashed vermin.

Sweden.  My ancestors roll in their graves.

The story comes from The Clarion Project.

Swedish Court Hands Out Light Sentence to Muslim Teen Rapists

A light sentence has been handed out to six teenage boys, aged 15 to 17, from the diverse Muslim community in Sweden for raping a 15-year-old girl in a north-western suburb of Stockholm in March. Five of the teens were found guilty of aggravated rape by the Solna District Court, with the sixth guilty of attempted aggravated rape.

Five of the boys were sentenced to over one hundred hours of community service each, and have been ordered to pay 55,000 kronor ($8,500) each, in damages to the victim. The punishment given to the sixth, if any, was not reported.

The reason given for the light punishment was the fact that the boys are minors. The Swedish court also concluded that the boys had already been already punished to some extent by having their pictures and their personal details exposed on the internet.

The attack took place in early March at an apartment in Tensta, where teens took turns raping the girl. Four of the boys confessed but denied that they committed any crime.

It is worth noting that the court never doubted that the incident took place and that it was rape. The court found the girl's testimony to be "a cohesive, long, and relatively detailed account" that did not contain "any contradictions or elements to the story that could be considered inexplicable"

Ironically, although the UN ranks Sweden high on the list when it comes to women's rights, a highly publicized study shows that Sweden has become the second highest rape capital of the world (after South Africa) and the highest incidents of reported rapes in Europe, twice as many as the UK, the runner-up country and six times as many of the U.S.

The incidences of rape have shot up as Sweden has accepted immigrants from Muslim countries. Although Muslims now make up 6 % of the Swedish population, 77.6% of all rape crimes are committed by Muslims.

Statistics now suggest that 1 out of every 4 Swedish women will be raped in her lifetime (Between the ages of 16-79), with the statistics higher in urban centers where the immigrants cluster. In Stockholm last summer there was an average of five rapes reported per day, with the largest increases being found in children under 15. Stockholm is now made up of one-third immigrant and is between a fifth and a quarter Muslim.

Pakistan's New Prime Minister Decides To Try Former President Musharraf With Treason

I got a kick out of the headline at DAWN for this story....check it out:

"Former dictator Musharraf to be tried for treason: PM Nawaz Sharif"

Dictator!  hahaha   Well, I guess America isn't the only country with a far left liberal pussy media who doesn't mind crossing the line from journalism into flagrant opinion and advocacy.

Former dictator Musharraf to be tried for treason: PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif told the National Assembly Monday that the government would put former military ruler Pervez Musharraf on trial for treason, charges punishable by death or life imprisonment.

He told the lower house of Parliament that the newly elected government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will file a written request before the Supreme Court to try former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for treason under Article 6 of the Constitution.

Sharif said the former president had committed treason by abrogating the Constitution and he should be tried under the law.

The premier moreover said Musharraf would be tried for imposing a state of emergency in the country in 2007 while also suspending the Constitution.

Earlier, Attorney General of Pakistan Munir A. Malik informed the Supreme Court that the government was fully committed to initiate high treason case against the former military ruler and his abettors according to the provisions of the Constitution.

The AG submitted a written statement before the three-member SC bench comprising Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan during the hearing of petitions against Pervez Musharraf for imposing emergency in the country on November 3, 2007.

“Given the primacy of the issue in the struggle for upholding the spirit of Constitution, the federal government will proceed in accordance with law and also take political forces into confidence through a consultative process so that the collective will and wisdom of the people of Pakistan is duly reflected in further process in this behalf,” said the statement.

The attorney general stated that the government would need time to frame the whole process. However, the apex court adjourned further hearing of the case till June 27 while directing the AG to further explain the government’s stance on the issue.

Leader of Opposition in NA Syed Khurshid Shah welcomed the prime minister's speech in NA and said that the pictures of all past dictators should be removed from the parliament premises.

He said that people rejected those who called the Constitution of Pakistan a meagre piece of paper, a reference to another former dictator General Ziaul Haq.

Other members of the NA sitting on opposition benches also extended their full support to government in its decision to try the former dictator.

Following Shah’s address, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said his party would support every constitutional step taken by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The premier later took the federal cabinet into confidence over government's response in high treason case against Pervez Musharraf.

Moderate Muslim Group In Toronto, Canada Holds Rally To Protest Islamic Terrorism....24 Muslims Show Up

This is hilarious.  Remember all of those "experts" and "journalists" that have been feeding you the slop for over 10 years that Islamic terror or "jihad" is just the actions of a very SMALL number of radicals in Islam who have co-opted the religion of Islam?  They went on to "inform" you dumb Americans and Westerners that Islam means peace and that the VAST majority of Muslims in this world are "moderate" and peace loving.

Well, the other day in Toronto, Canada that vast majority of moderate Muslims was to gather and show their total disdain for the violent islamic terrorist activities plaguing this world.  Oh yeah, streets were blocked off as the Canadian security forces anticipated what was going to be a THRONG of those millions and millions of moderate Muslims.

24 Muslims showed up.

24.

Allahu Ackbar.

The story comes from Jihad Watch via The Religion of Peace.

Canada: Progressive Muslims group rallies against jihad terrorism, draws 24 people

One of the cornerstones of the argument over the last few days for keeping me out of the U.K. is the false claim that I "demonize all Muslims" in my critique of jihad and Islamic supremacism. In reality, I point out that Islamic supremacists claim to represent the authentic interpretation of the Qur'an and Islam, that they make recruits among peaceful Muslims with this claim, that most reputedly "moderate" organizations in the U.S. are tied to the Muslim Brotherhood (as has been abundantly established by the Justice Department), and that genuinely peaceful and non-supremacist Muslims have not effectively countered the Islamic supremacist appeal among Muslims.

All these facts are established anew by the tiny turnout at the small number of Muslim anti-terror demonstrations that have taken place. Several years ago a group called the Free Muslims Coalition held what it called a "Free Muslims March Against Terror," intending to "send a message to the terrorists and extremists that their days are numbered ... and to send a message to the people of the Middle East, the Muslim world and all people who seek freedom, democracy and peaceful coexistence that we support them." In the run-up to the event it got enthusiastic national and international publicity, but it ended up drawing about twenty-five people. And that is about as many as this demo in Toronto drew. Now the group appears to be defunct; its website hasn't been updated since December 2011.

"Progressive Muslims group launched in Toronto to reclaim ‘hijacked’ faith," by Wendy Gillis for the Toronto Star, June 17 (thanks to Rick):

Tahir Gora shouts into a microphone, cuing a response from the sparse group of supporters gathered with him at the steps of Queen’s Park.

“Terrorism,” he yells.

“Unacceptable!” they reply.

Their voices carry across the grassy Legislature grounds that are, with the exception of a few bike cops and pedestrians, deserted. A stack of unused signs, their slogans reading “Hate is not my religion” and “Love it or leave my Canada,” lean up against a nearby pole.

Mighty but small, it was not quite the turnout the newly formed Progressive Muslims Institute Canada had in mind for their first rally, held last week. As one of the organizers mused with a chuckle, there were more white faces than brown in the crowd of roughly two dozen.

But when the goal is as big as reclaiming a faith many Muslims feel has been hijacked by terrorism, you’ve got to start somewhere.

“We thought, enough is enough,” said Gora, the institute’s director and a Pakistani writer and social activist.

The quick succession of Islam-linked terrorism — the Boston Marathon bombing, the alleged plot to derail a Toronto-bound train, the killing of a British soldier in London, among others — was the final push for Gora and a handful of other activists to officially band together, Gora said. Part of umbrella think tank Canadian Thinkers’ Forum, the institute is the latest Canadian Muslim group promoting progressive ideas, including gender equality, separation of church and state, and condemnation of terrorism.

But while many Muslims have long been denouncing the actions of fundamental Islamist extremists, there remains a reticence among some to speak out.

“It’s 25 years that I’ve been in Canada, but I haven’t seen the Muslim community come out to protest,” said rally attendee Rasheed Nadeem. “There are progressive people, but they are silent. They do talk, but in their dining rooms.”

Fear plays a role, said Arshad Mahmood, honorary director of the new progressive Muslims group — “fear of being an outcast, fear of social boycott, fear of being trashed by certain extremist priests,” he said.

Saadia Ali Bokhari is a well known activist in the GTA Muslim community, and has spoken out on controversial issues including supporting the ban of face coverings in Canadian citizenship ceremonies. Because of her activism, she says she has been the recipient of hate and threats.

Last month, she participated in a downtown rally protesting the suspected vote-rigging in Pakistan’s recent election. After a photo of her at the rally was posted online, Bokhari began receiving harassing and threatening messages. She said her brother and sister in Pakistan were also contacted by people saying Bokhari needed to stop speaking out.

Bokhari believes some people are offended by the idea of a vocal, confident woman. “This is what they are doing to discourage me,” Bokhari said.

Mahmood, a Mississauga mortgage broker who moved to Canada from Pakistan in 1999, says another factor keeping Canadian Muslims from demonstrating is the false sense of security that Islamic extremism won’t affect Canada.

“That is a mentality that develops with some people to stay in a comfort zone — as long as it doesn’t happen on my street, I’m comfortable,” he said. At the rally he apologized for falling victim to this thinking, saying: “I am sorry that I didn’t stand up when my religion was being hijacked.”

For some Muslims, terrorism is so foreign to their idea of the Muslim faith that it seems odd to have to decry it, says Max Khan, an Oakville town councillor active in the Muslim community, because “we don’t identify ourselves as being a terrorist group.”

But he believes that community leaders and imams still have a responsibility to condemn terrorism.

“I do hold people who sit on the sidelines accountable,” Khan said.

There is frustration, however, that Muslim statements decrying violent extremism are falling on deaf ears. Dr. Aliya Khan is a member of an interfaith group in Peel and has been working to spread the message that Islam is peaceful. She says many imams are regularly denouncing terrorism, but the media aren’t covering their statements.

This is an oft-repeated claim, but it is absolute rubbish. The media is avid to find moderates, and routinely runs glowing puff pieces about reputed moderates, including some who turn out to be anything but. That's how Anwar al-Awlaki ended up getting praised in the New York Times, which hailed al-Awlaki on October 19, 2001 as one of "a new generation of Muslim leader capable of merging East and West."

In December, for instance, several international imams in Toronto for a large conference spoke out against extremist violence and “there wasn’t a peep from the media,” Khan said.

“The imams are feeling very frustrated, and they say ‘we’ve condemned this a billion times, we don’t know what to do,’” she said....

Act against it. Teach against it. Condemnations are not enough.
