UN expert decries Israeli soldier’s killing of Palestinian attacker

You know, I scoured the internet for many, many hours and could not find ONE criticism of the slaughter of the Fogel family by Palestinian terrorists in 2011 from United Nations expert Christof Heyns.  Mr. Heyns is all over Israel and the recent shooting of a Palestinian but when the Fogel family home resembled a meat slaughterhouse at the hands of a Palestinian, the only UN noise was crickets.

The story comes from Al Arabiya.

UN expert decries Israeli soldier’s killing of Palestinian attacker

A UN expert on human rights on Wednesday condemned the killing by an Israeli soldier of a wounded Palestinian assailant last week as he lay on the ground, saying it appeared to be an extrajudicial execution.

Video taken by Israel’s B’Tselem human rights group last Thursday shows an infantryman firing into the head of a Palestinian as he lay on the ground in Hebron in the occupied West Bank. Minutes earlier, the Palestinian had stabbed and wounded another soldier.

The soldier has been arrested, though not yet charged, by Israeli authorities. The military initially said it was a murder investigation, but on Tuesday prosecutors told a court they were looking into possible manslaughter charges.

The incident brought to a boil a debate in Israel over whether excessive force has been used against Palestinian assailants.

“The images shown carry all the signs of a clear case of an extrajudicial execution,” said Christof Heyns, UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, of the Hebron shooting. “Whatever legal regime one applies to the case, shooting someone who is no longer a threat is murder.”

On Thursday, an autopsy will be carried out on the Palestinian’s body, with a Palestinian doctor present, and the findings could be key in determining the severity of charges to be brought against the soldier.

There is still a gag order regarding the soldier’s identity.

Israel’s military chief on Wednesday sent out a letter to troops in which he said the army will support any soldier that makes a mistake in the heat of the battle, but at the same time it will hold accountable soldiers or commanders who do not adhere to the military’s moral code.

The past six months has seen the worst period of sustained violence in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Israeli interior since a Palestinian uprising ended a decade ago.

A campaign of Palestinian knife, car-ramming or gun assaults have killed 28 Israelis and two US citizens. At least 190 Palestinians, 129 of whom Israel says were assailants, have been killed by security forces and many others were shot during clashes and protests.

Cuba's Castro Backstabs Pussy Obama After Boy Wonder Leaves the Island

Can America get any lower than some two bit Marxist dictator making fun of our joke of an American President?  Any rational human being would have foreseen dealing with the Castro psychopaths as a NO WIN but not Barry Obama...hell, no...the Boy Wonder thinks the world bows to him.

The story comes from DAWN.

Cuba's Fidel Castro knocks sweet-talking Obama after 'honey-coated' visit

HAVANA: Retired leader Fidel Castro accused US President Barack Obama of sweet-talking the Cuban people during his visit to the island last week and ignoring the accomplishments of Communist rule, in an opinion piece carried by all state-run media on Monday.

Obama's visit was aimed at consolidating a detente between the once intractable Cold War enemies and the US president said in a speech to the Cuban people that it was time for both nations to put the past behind them and face the future “as friends and as neighbors and as family, together”.

“One assumes that every one of us ran the risk of a heart attack listening to these words,” Castro said in his column, dismissing Obama's comments as “honey-coated” and reminding Cubans of the many US efforts to overthrow and weaken the Communist government.

Castro, 89, laced his opinion piece with nationalist sentiment and, bristling at Obama's offer to help Cuba, said the country was able to produce the food and material riches it needs with the efforts of its people.

“We don't need the empire to give us anything,” he wrote.

Fidel Castro took power in a 1959 revolution and led the country until 2006, when he fell ill and passed power to his brother Raul Castro. He now lives in relative seclusion but is occasionally heard from in opinion pieces or seen on television and in photos meeting with visiting dignitaries.

The iconic figure's influence has waned in his retirement and the introduction of market-style reforms carried out by Raul Castro, but Fidel Castro still has a moral authority among many residents, especially older generations.

Obama did not meet with Fidel Castro during his three-day visit, nor mention him in any of his public appearances. It was the first visit of a sitting US president for 88 years.

Fidel Castro blasted Obama for not referring in his speech to the extermination of native peoples in both the United States and Cuba, not recognising Cuba's gains in health and education, and not coming clean on what he might know about how South Africa obtained nuclear weapons before apartheid ended, presumably with the aid of the US government.

“My modest suggestion is that he reflects (on the US role in South Africa and Cuba's in Angola) and not now try to elaborate theories about Cuban politics,” Castro said.

Castro also took aim at the tourism industry in Cuba, which has grown further since Obama's rapprochement with Raul Castro in December 2014. He said it was dominated by large foreign corporations which took for granted billion-dollar profits.

After Obama's visit, major obstacles remain to full normalisation of ties between Cuba and the United States, with no major concessions offered by Cuba on rights and economic freedom.

Neglect halted anti-terror moves: Belgian minister

Let me translate this article for you - "In Belgium, as in most European countries, multiculturalism has had such a choke hold on the people and governments that they set themselves up as lambs to slaughter."

There.  Fixed it.

The story comes from Al Arabiya.

Neglect halted anti-terror moves: Belgian minister

Belgium's interior minister says the Belgian government has invested $670 million into police and security services over the past two years but acknowledged that neglect over decades had caused deficiencies that have hampered an effective response to violent extremism.

Minister Jan Jambon said errors were made in the run-up to the March 22 Brussels attacks that killed at least 31 people and wounded 270 others, but says fresh investments need time before they become visible. He said Sunday that hiring anti-terror specialists and specialized equipment could not happen in weeks or months.

Jambon says “it is also not because you put the money in now, that tomorrow all this is visible on the ground.”

Meanwhile on Sunday, Brussels prosecutors have charged another man with participation in a terrorist group, the Belgian press agency Belga said.

Belga named the man arrested as A. Abderrahmane who prosecutors had said on Saturday was being detained for a further 24 hours after being shot during a raid in the Brussels district of Schaerbeek.

It said he was charged in connection with a related raid in France this week that authorities say foiled an apparent attack plot.

The prosecutor's office could not immediately be reached for comment.

"for He has risen, just as He said"

5The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. 6"He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. 7"Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."…

Suicide bomber kills 25 south of Baghdad: Police

Just waiting for that tipping point when the Earth in space resembles the reddish hue of Mars due to the amount of blood spilled by Islam.

The story comes from Times of India.

Suicide bomber kills 25 south of Baghdad: Police

HILLA, Iraq: A suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd on Friday after a local football game in a village south of Baghdad, killing at least 25 people, police and medics said.

"They were just handing the trophy to the winners, the suicide attacker blew himself up in the crowd," a police captain from the village, Al-Asriya, told AFP.

The village is near Iskandariyah, a town about 40 kilometres (25 miles) south of the capital.

The police captain said more than 50 people were also wounded in the blast.

A source at Iskandariyah hospital confirmed the toll, warning that the casualties figure were preliminary and could rise.

The medic told AFP that the attack took place around 7.00pm (1600 GMT).

There was no immediate claim taking responsibility for the blast but nearly all such attacks recently were carried out by the Islamic State (IS) group.

Iskandariyah is part of a mixed Sunni-Shiite area south of Baghdad which was once dubbed "the triangle of death" and was badly affected by sectarian violence last decade.

Pushing back IS in this region after the jihadists took over large parts of the country in 2014 was one of the priorities of the government and allied Shiite militias.

That was achieved in a few months and IS has been largely eradicated from the area but violence - of a sectarian nature and crime-driven - has remained frequent.

Further south, at least 47 people were killed when a truck bomb exploded at a checkpoint at the entrance of the city of Hilla on March 6.

The attack was the deadliest car bomb explosion in Iraq this year.

The jihadist group has been losing territory steadily in Iraq for almost a year.

In the most recent operations, Iraqi forces have been gaining ground in the western province of Anbar and have just begun their reconquest of the province of Nineveh.

In the cities the group retains control over, internal tension appears to be on the rise and the lack of supplies is taking its toll.

Observers have warned that, as their self-proclaimed "caliphate" shrinks towards extinction, IS fighters are likely to revert to their old guerrilla tactics and ramp up suicide attacks on civilian targets.

Swedish High Court Set To Approve Sharia Law For Divorce Proceedings

I have Swedish ancestors who are not only rolling in their graves but clawing at the surface to return and kick BOTH Swedish and Islamic ass.

The story comes from Sputnik News via The Religion of Peace.

Mahr or Less: Sharia Seeps Into Swedish Divorce Law

The Swedish Supreme Court may finally approve the tacit endorsement of Sharia Law when it rules on the validity of prenuptial agreements, according to lawyer Fatemeh Sanaei Nasab of the Iranian Ministry of Justice.

In an interview with Sputnik, lawyer Fatemeh Sanaei Nasab of the Iranian Ministry of Justice said that the Swedish Supreme Court will probably say "yes" to Sharia Law being applied to prenuptial agreements in Sweden.

The interview comes as the court deals with at least two cases related to whether the Iranian legislation is valid in the country.

In two separate cases, divorced husbands are at risk of being obliged to pay their former wives a hefty sum known as a mahr, or mandatory payment. Iranian brides receive it in the form of money or property from a groom or his father when a couple is married; the payment then legally becomes her property. In some cases, the bride must settle for an IOU.

In this regard, Nasab said that it is only natural that the cases are already on the table of the Supreme Court of Sweden.

"I think that as the issue of paying a mahr is related to the Iranian couples, it is quite logical that the court deemed it necessary to rely on Iran's legislative norms," she said.

Nasad added that the chances of the Iranian Sharia law being legally binding in Sweden will depend on how the international law agencies would look at the financial aspect of matrimonial relations, and what factors will be taken as a basis.

"If the Swedish Supreme Court decides to consider mahr under civil law and take into account national factors, I will estimate the chances of cultivating Iranian laws as very high as far as the court's final decision is concerned," she pointed out.
Swedish media reported that one case is related to a couple who married in Iran in 2006 and arrived in Sweden afterwards. The District Court ruled that the case should be handled in accordance with Swedish law, which means that an Iranian woman's former husband is not obliged to honor the mahr.

In another case, an Iranian woman claims that her rights would be infringed if she does not receive money amounting to about 1.5 million kronor (approximately $181,000), in line with the mahr payment, which is typically specified in the marriage contract signed during an Islamic marriage.

Obama Defends His ISIS Strategy

Just when you think you've seen or heard it all, Barack Hussein Obama opens up his big fat mouth and redefines absurdity for mankind, once again.
Go back and document the slaughter, the beheadings, the acts of terrorism, the number of dead and wounded, the battles waged, the blood spilled ever SINCE Barack Obama decided on a course of action of "containment" of ISIS and then tell me how any sane, rational person can defend that strategy.

This article from The Wall Street Journal is a jaw dropper.  It basically says that Barack Obama is acting the way he is towards ISIS because he doesn't want to be like George W. Bush.

And to think this man sits in the White House.  If this clown was your company's CEO, he'd be ordered in for a psych eval long ago.

For Obama, Muted Reaction to Brussels Attacks Is by Design

BUENOS AIRES—In the aftermath of a deadly terror attack that stirred Americans’ concerns about the potential for threats to the U.S., President Barack Obama pressed ahead with his tour of Latin America, including a planned family excursion in Patagonia.

Mr. Obama’s public appearance of nonchalance has drawn criticism from Republicans that he is detached from Americans’ fears and isn’t sufficiently countering violent extremism. But his approach partly reflects his belief that overreacting to a terrorist attack—however horrific—elevates extremist groups like Islamic State in a way that exaggerates their influence, his aides have said.

Also driving Mr. Obama is his view that the threat of terrorism in Americans’ daily lives often is overstated, and that the focus on it could become self-paralyzing and an excuse to adopt misguided policies. His aides often note that many more Americans are killed by gun violence than terrorist attacks, for instance.

Mr. Obama, asked about the Islamic State threat Wednesday at a news conference in Buenos Aires with Argentine President Mauricio Macri, urged Americans not to give terrorist groups the power “to strike fear in our societies.”

“Even as we are systematic and ruthless and focused in going after them, disrupting their networks, getting their leaders, rolling up their operations, it is very important for us to not respond with fear,” he said. “We send a message to those that might be inspired by them to say, you are not going to change our values of liberty, and openness, and the respect of all people.”

The president also moved to assure Americans that he is committed to defeating Islamic State, which claimed credit for the Brussels attacks and has vowed similar actions across the West, calling it his “top priority.”

The president was on the last day of a groundbreaking trip to Cuba when the terrorists struck Tuesday. He moved forward with his plans to deliver an address to the Cuban people, attend a baseball game with Cuban President Raúl Castro, and continue on to Argentina. Some Republicans, including presidential candidates Ted Cruz and John Kasich, said the president should interrupt his trip, which he sees as an important foreign-policy advancement, to return home.

If Tuesday’s attack had been in the U.S., Mr. Obama would have undoubtedly returned to Washington, aides said. But he and his aides have argued that changing his schedule because of a terrorist attack isn’t always advisable, particularly at a time when the White House expects them to continue with some regularity world-wide.

“Obama operates primarily out of his head as opposed to his emotions,” presidential historian Mike Purdy said. He added that while there are “real strengths to that,” American people “want their president to understand what they are feeling, to understand their fears and doubts.”

Mr. Obama’s approach is motivated by the same factors that propelled him to office, said Barry Pavel, director of the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security at the Atlantic Council, a think tank.

“It’s pretty obvious what’s driving him…which is the overactivity and aggressiveness of the Bush administration,” Mr. Pavel said, describing Mr. Obama’s policies as embedded in “restraint and moderation and caution and patience.”

The president has resisted pressure to change a U.S. strategy of airstrikes, special-operations forces raids, and cooperation with Western and local allies to take on Islamic State, also known as ISIS. While he has at times put more resources into the strategy, Republicans, along with some Democrats and American military officials, have said the U.S. should do more in terms of sending troops and arms.

In the wake of Brussels, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R., Calif.) said U.S.-backed opposition fighters against Islamic State should receive “the mortars, the artillery, the antitank weapons to win that fight.”

“Unfortunately, the White House still doesn’t have a plan to get the job done,” Mr. Royce said in a radio interview.

Hillary Clinton, Mr. Obama’s former secretary of state and the Democratic front-runner in the race to succeed him, said the U.S. policy can’t be to “contain” Islamic State—which Mr. Obama’s critics have said his strategy is designed to do. “We must defeat ISIS,” Mrs. Clinton said in a foreign-policy speech Wednesday.

Mrs. Clinton added, “Our fight against radical jihadist terrorists will be long and there is very real risk of future attacks here at home.”

The White House is increasingly concerned about a culture of fear taking hold in what they essentially see as a new normal, with the threat of attacks always there. The president criticized Mr. Cruz by name over his calling this week for police to be allowed to “patrol and secure” Muslim communities in the U.S. Mr. Obama pointed to the proposal as precisely the type of reactive policy change that gives terrorists a win by giving up core American freedoms.

He also criticized Mr. Cruz’s comments that the U.S. should “carpet bomb” Islamic State, a move the president said would be contrary to American values and kill innocent civilians.

Mr. Obama said his strategy has taken 40% of the territory previously conquered by Islamic State, thinned its leadership ranks and forced them into hiding. Critics have noted that Islamic State has established new strongholds in Libya and managed to hold large swaths of territory in Iraq and Syria.

The U.S. is continuing to seek out effective methods against the group, Mr. Obama said, but emphasized he wouldn’t take additional action without sound reasons.

“We don’t just go ahead and blow something up just so that we can go back home and say we blew something up,” Mr. Obama said. “That’s not a foreign policy. That’s not a military strategy.”

House Terrorism Chair: Our Strategy Against ISIS Is a Complete Failure

Rep. Ted Poe of Texas is soon to be paraded around Washington, D.C. as the latest racist and islamophobe since he had the audacity to question the strategy against ISIS contrived by the Boy Wonder....Barack LimpWrist Obama.

Here's the facts.  Barack Hussein Obama saw and sees a legitimacy to ISIS - this is why his strategy from the get go (actually, after he was dragged kicking and screaming into making a statement) was to "contain" ISIS.  He was telling the world that he would not eradicate ISIS.  Why not?  Because he believes something about them is indeed legitimate.

The story comes from CNS News.

House Terrorism Chair: Our Strategy Against ISIS Is a Complete Failure

(CNSNews.com) – In the wake of Tuesday’s deadly terrorist attack in Brussels, the chairman of the House Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade called the Obama administration’s strategy against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) “a complete failure.”

“Days after Belgian law enforcement captured alive ISIS terrorist Salah Abdeslam, one of the suspected ringleaders of the deadly Paris attacks, terrorists retaliated in Brussels by launching a series of explosions at the airport and train station. Thirty-four civilians are dead and 170 are injured,” Rep Ted Poe (R-TX) said in a statement Tuesday hours after blasts rocked a terminal of the Brussels’ airport and its subway system.

“Today’s bombings illustrate that ISIS still maintains operational networks in Europe capable of carrying out attacks in the capital of the European Union even as security services are on high alert,” said Poe, who is also a member of the House Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats.

“It is clear that our current strategy against ISIS – which has allowed the terrorist organization to retain a haven from which to plan and launch attacks for nearly two years – is a complete failure and needs to be reassessed.

“Empty words claiming progress and success against ISIS are meaningless in the face of today’s carnage in Brussels. This latest attack is the new normal in Europe and it will come to our soil if our leaders continue to refuse to define the enemy, radical Islam.

“Jihadists have promised to bring terror to the United States and they will deliver on that promise if we do not use our full resources to destroy them,” Poe said.

“Until we dislodge the terrorists from their havens and neutralize their capabilities to strike in our cities, the citizens of the world will remain in grave danger."

Abdeslam, who was arrested by Belgian police during a raid in Molenbeek on Friday, was charged with “participation in terrorist murder” for his alleged role in the Nov. 13 terrorist attack in Paris that left 130 people dead.

“We have found more than 30 people involved in the terrorist attacks in Paris, but we are sure that there are others," Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders said shortly after Abdeslam was captured.

Nasrallah: Hezbollah will strike Israel's nuclear facilities if war breaks out

Isn't it past due for Hezbollah to be wiped off the map?

The story comes from The Jerusalem Post.

Nasrallah: Hezbollah will strike Israel's nuclear facilities if war breaks out

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah threatened on Monday that if a future war breaks out with Israel, his Shi'ite Lebanese terrorist group will strike all targets in the Jewish state "without any limits."

"If the Israeli army escalates its aggression against Lebanon, Hezbollah will strike all the strategic targets in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the nuclear facilities," Hezbollah-linked TV station Al Manar quoted Nasrallah as saying in a televised interview on Al Mayadeen.

The Hezbollah leader continued, stating that Israel is aware of Hezbollah's possession of rockets that can strike anywhere in the country.

In addition, he claimed that: "Hezbollah possesses all the details about the positions of the petrochemical, biological and nuclear facilities across Palestine."

While Nasrallah asserted that Hezbollah does not want to start a war with Israel, he added that his organization "does not grant Israel any security guarantees."

Nasrallah also took a stab at Arab nations in the region, seemingly in light of their decision to blacklist Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.

"Israel does not respond to the Arab regimes' demands, but some Arab countries work for the sake of the Israelis," he was quoted as saying.

On March 11, the Arab League labelled Hezbollah a terrorist organization, as Sunni-Shiite tensions rise across the Middle East.

Earlier in the month, the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) named Hezbollah a terrorist organization, opening up the possibility of further sanctions against the Iran-allied group that wields influence in Lebanon and fights in Syria.

The Sunni Muslim dominated council - representing Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar - already imposed sanctions on the Shi'ite Muslim group in 2013 after it entered Syria's war in support of President Bashar Assad.

Here's a Big Shocker: 'Afghanistan has become hell for women'

Yeah, WHO could have seen this one coming?  You mean, after the U.S. and coalition countries pulled out of Afghanistan the Taliban started a campaign to return to the continual abuse and oppression of women?  I guess even the almighty Wonder Boy Barry Obama couldn't have foreseen that one coming, eh?

The story comes from DAWN.

Footprints: 'Afghanistan has become hell for women'

KABUL: When news first spread last year that a young woman had been beaten to death in one of the Afghan capital’s most famous shrines, it left many in the nation with conflicting feelings of anger and confusion.

In the initial hours, the woman — still anonymous in her black chador — had been accused of burning pages of the Quran in central Kabul’s Shah-Do Shamshira shrine. This left many, including the mullah of one of the capital’s most famous mosques and a female deputy of the ministry of information and culture, praising the mob of angry men and women who beat her to death.

By the evening, the family of the woman identified as Farkhunda Malikzada had been coerced by security officials to claim their daughter suffered from an unspecified mental illness, leading to further confusion among the public.

The next day saw the spread of false rumours that Malikzada had run away from home and came to the shrine with 20 verses of the holy book in her hand.

However, by the following evening security and religious officials had declared that the papers Malikzada — a 27-year-old student of Islamic Studies — was accused of burning were in fact Dari-language tawiz, charms, and not pages of the Muslim holy book.

Suddenly, the conflicted feelings of the people turned to outright anger.

A young woman who dared to speak out against the commercialisation of religion and traditional superstitions had been viciously murdered after the guardian of the shrine — whom she accused of being a charlatan — falsely claimed she had desecrated the Quran.

In the following weeks, a massive public outcry, including a protest of nearly two thousand people outside the Supreme Court, was supposed to mark a red line in the sand.

No longer would the Afghan people stand for the abuse and harassment of women across the country.

However, in the year since her death, activists and politicians deride the trial that was meant to punish the dozens of people who beat Malikzada and dragged her dead body from a car before ultimately setting it on fire in one of Kabul’s most-trafficked areas.

What’s more, attendees at an event meant to inaugurate a monument in Malikzada’s honour say the impunity of people accused of abuses against women persist.

The red line quickly faded and the status quo has been maintained.

“It should have set a precedent, but what we’ve seen is that nothing has changed,” said one young woman in attendance at the gathering.

The woman, who would not disclose her name due to security concerns, said what happened to Malikzada is the ultimate embodiment of failed Western efforts to help Afghan women.

“In the 15 years since the US occupation we’ve seen small changes, but nothing meaningful or foundational,” said the 20-something who hid her face with a blue surgical mask.

When the US-led coalition first set out to topple the Taliban government in 2001 the condition of women during the group’s six-year rule was often heralded as one of the main impetuses behind the invasion.

“Rather than helping the Afghan people, including women, the foreign presence shows that the West has only driven our own people apart and led to more death and destruction.”

Others say the government itself failed to do their duty and protect Malikzada at the time of her murder.

“There’s no way a dozen or so police could have controlled a crowd of hundreds by themselves, but why was there no backup sent, why didn’t the higher ups intervene and send re-enforcements,” said Selay Ghaffar, spokeswoman for the Solidarity Party of Afghanistan, who organised the gathering.

Looking at the dozens of police in riot gear standing watch over the 200 attendees, Ghaffar said the police failed to do their jobs on that day.

Last year, a court handed 11 police officers one-year sentences for dereliction of duty and acquitted eight others.

The police sentencing once again ignited anger among the public as amateur mobile phone footage captured at the scene seemed to show police doing little to stop the mob who beat Farkhunda with large stones and sticks and ran over her body twice with a Toyota hatchback.

The verdicts for the men accused of taking part in her death — including the guardian of the shrine who initially provoked the mob — proved even more disenchanting.

Initially, the three-day trial resulted in death sentences for four of the men and 16-year terms for eight others. However, earlier this month it was confirmed that the death sentences were commuted to three 20-year terms — including an intelligence agent who had bragged about his role in the killing in a now deleted Facebook post — and one 10-year term.

A police commander, who did not want to be named because he was not allowed to speak to media, said it was a tragedy that never should have happened and it showed how stretched the police are everywhere. “At that time they were especially under pressure because there were preparations for Nowroz, the Persian New Year, the following day.”

For Ghaffar the verdicts along with other cases of violence and abuse against women in the last year — including the public stoning of a 19-year-old woman accused of adultery in the central province of Ghor — prove the situation for the nation’s women has only gotten progressively worse.

Though cases like Malikzada’s received massive public attention, thousands of other cases of abuse against women go unreported each year.

According to the United States Institute for Peace, 87 per cent of Afghan women have been subject to domestic abuse at least once in their lifetime.

“Afghanistan has become a hell for women.”

Marine General: ‘I Worry About The Capability… To Win in a Major Fight Somewhere Else Right Now’

America wanted this country neutered by electing and re-electing Barack Hussein Obama.  Well, America, you got it.  I hope your children curse your name for the rest of their lives.

The story comes from CNS News.

Marine General: ‘I Worry About The Capability… To Win in a Major Fight Somewhere Else Right Now’

(CNSNews.com) – “I worry about the capability and the capacity to win in a major fight somewhere else right now,” Gen. John Paxton, assistant commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, testified at a hearing of the Senate Subcommittee on Readiness and Management Support on Tuesday.

“The Marine Corps is committed to remaining our nation’s ready force, a force that’s truly capable of responding to any crisis anywhere around the world at a moment’s notice. It has been so for 240 years since Captain [Samuel] Nichols led his Marines ashore in Nassau in March of 1776,” the general testified.

“Last year, the Congress reiterated the expectations of the 82nd Congress that the Marine Corps continue to serve as our country’s expeditionary force and to be most ready when the nation is least ready.

“Today the Marine Corps is meeting and will continue to meet tomorrow your rightly high expectations,” Paxton told the senators, noting that one of the Marine Corps’ mottoes is “Fight Tonight”.

“We do all of that at the expense of our bench strength,” Paxton said in response to a question from Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA). “We have tonight’s forces, which are ready, tomorrow night, which is ready, and everything else is at some degraded state of readiness, whether it’s personnel, training, leadership, [or] equipment.

“And that is not only mortgaging the future, but that’s mortgaging the surge capability to fight an operations plan against a known adversary…

"So I worry about the capability and the capacity to win in a major fight somewhere else right now.”

Last year, Paxton testified, the Marines “executed approximately 100 operations, 20 of them amphibious, 140 security cooperation activities with our partners and allies, and 160 major exercises.”

He noted that hundreds of Marines are still stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and “many remain in harm’s way, heavily engaged in the Middle East and around the globe to do our nation’s bidding.”

Ernst also asked Gen. Daniel Allyn, the Army’s vice chief of staff - who testified that the Army is “globally engaged with more than 186,000 soldiers supporting combatant commanders in over 140 countries” - about its ability to provide the manpower and weapons needed by combat commanders currently in the field as well as during any unforeseen future crisis.

“We are absolutely committed to delivering trained and ready forces in support of our combatant commanders. That is job one for us. For the United States Army, we delivered 91 percent of what our combatant commanders asked for in terms of known requirements for this past year.

“That’s sounds good – 91 percent – that’s an A in many schools across the country, but that 9 percent gap is unacceptable to a combat commander, and we recognize that," Gen. Allyn responded.

“In addition to that, the Army has delivered 64 percent of the emerging requirements that came out during this past year of their total requirements. So 64 percent of what they asked for, that was unpredicted at the beginning of the year, we delivered.

“And of course, the problem with that is that came out of our surge capacity build. So while we’re trying to generate surge capacity for contingencies, we must continue to answer the emerging requirements that are validated by the chairmen of the Joint Chiefs and the Secretary of Defense.

“And the end result of that is I do not have a level of comfort that we are ready for a contingency of a major scale against our peer adversaries, and therefore I am very uncomfortable with the trajectory of our drawdown right now, and I do believe it’s time for a strategic review of is that’s what’s best for our nation?”

Belgium catches no.1 Paris attacker

Okay, so it's Europe.  I'm guessing that Belgium police and special forces probably broke five or six commandments of the Human Rights Commission document of the European Union so this guy should be walking in a couple of weeks.

This is why it's important that as much info is tortured out of this prick as possible in the next 48 hours.

The story comes from Al Arabiya.

Belgium catches no.1 Paris attacker

The main fugitive from Islamic extremist attacks in Paris in November, Salah Abdeslam, has been arrested in Belgium’s capital after four months at large, French police officials said Friday.

The officials told The Associated Press that he was arrested Friday in a major police operation in the Brussels neighborhood of Molenbeek.

“We got him” said Theo Francken, Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, on Twitter.

The Federal Prosecutor’s office has also confirmed his arrest, public broadcaster RTBF said.

Blasts were also heard in the Molenbeek district of Brussels where police have arrested Abdeslam, Belgian media reported on Friday.

RTBF, showed footage of smoke and said an explosion had been heard, but its exact nature was not clear.

RTL and l’Echo also reported two explosions.

The White House said on Friday the United States had been helping French and Belgian authorities to boost security since November's Paris attacks, and that this would continue.

The comments from White House spokesman Josh Earnest came after news broke that Salah Abdeslam, the most wanted fugitive from the attacks in which 130 people died, was wounded and caught in a shootout in Brussels Friday.

Earnest told a daily press briefing he did not know whether President Barack Obama had been briefed.

“The United States obviously has significant resources and significant capabilities, and we have used them to assist the French and the Belgians as they have conducted investigations into the attacks and as they have taken steps to try to safeguard their country,” Earnest said

“We’re going to continue to stay in close touch with them on this,” he said.

Mexican Drug Cartels Hurting For Employees Since All Assassins Have Gone to America

When the Mexican drug cartels can't even sustain operations due to a lack of labor because all of their hired thug help has crossed the border into America....well, doesn't that basically substantiate everything Donald Trump has said?

The story comes from CNS News.

Analyst: Mexican Cartel Openly Advertising for Members Because of Exodus of Young Males to U.S.

(CNSNews.com) – A Mexican drug cartel’s brazen decision to use street flyers to recruit new members in central Mexico may in part be the result of a local labor pool decimated by young men who leave the country to look for work in the U.S., according to one analyst.

The cartel, according to security specialist and national university professor Raul Guillermo Benitez Manaut, may be having trouble finding new help because of a lack of young men living in the area where the cartel operates, namely northern Michoacán, northern Guanajuato and southern Jalisco. Seventy-percent of the local population is female, he said.

Benitez called the use of flyers a “desperate” measure not seen before – and “very risky” for the gang because it allowed for government infiltration.

It is also a sign that the cartel, known as the New Generation, is expanding in the southwestern state of Jalisco to fill a vacuum left by the government’s successful anti-cartel activity in the neighboring state of Michoacán, he said.

The recruitment flyers offered work as guards and bodyguards with a fictitious security firm, but respondents were sent instead for arms training and then inducted into the cartel, the Associated Press reported earlier.

Jesus Eduardo Almaguer Remirez, the chief prosecutor in Jalisco, said approximately a dozen recruits were arrested earlier this month, including an American woman who reportedly headed up the effort to hand out flyers in the beach resort of Puerto Vallarta.

Alejandro Hope, a security analyst in Mexico City, said the use of the flyers showed how willing the cartel was to act in the open without fear of prosecution.

Mexican drug cartels strictly rely on word of mouth to attract new members, Benitez said. Recruitment is never done in the open as it’s seen as too risky. “They normally recruit using family members, to be safer,” he said.

"Normally it is done through friends or acquaintances. Now they are doing it openly, deceiving people, obviously, but openly."

Media reports said the government was tipped off to the flyer recruitment effort when one recruit’s family complained he had been kidnapped and held for ransom after refusing to work for the cartel. At a press conference, Almaguer Remirez also referred to the cartel’s difficulties attracting new members and said it was increasingly using threats and coercion.

A study of Mexican migration to the U.S., commissioned by the national Congress, found the greatest outflow of workers between 2005 and 2010 was from the central state of Guanajuato (182,960), followed by Michoacán (153,570) and then Jalisco (151,260).

One-third of all Mexicans who went to the U.S. during the period were from the central part of the country and totaled just over 576,000, the study found.

Benitez said efforts by the New Generation cartel to recruit former employees of two other cartels hit hard by government actions in Michoacán also appear not to be working.

Former members of the cartel once headed up by Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera – the infamous drug lord recently recaptured by authorities – may fear being killed if they sign up with a new cartel, Benitez said.

Meanwhile, the Mexico City daily El Universal reported Sunday that Mexican authorities made 2,982 arrests from 2006 to 2015 for the illicit use of exact copies of police and security force uniforms, as well as the cloning of security vehicles. Benitez said drug cartels often use the cloned cars and uniforms to move contraband unimpeded.

So far, the cartels haven’t turned to the Internet to recruit employees, he said. Use of the Internet by the cartels is almost unheard – except for Twitter, which has been used by cartels in in Nuevo Laredo and northern Tamaulipas to threaten people and for extortion, but not to recruit new members, Benitez said.

Canada Has a New Prime Minister. And Canadian Funding of Hamas Resumes in 3...2...1....

Yep.  Our neighbor to the north, Canada, decided to elect a leftist Marxist pansy as Prime Minister and they also chose to ignore that this guy loves Muslims and jihadis like no other.  So after just a few months, Canada is going to go back to full funding of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza.

Sweet, huh?  I'm sure Trudeau won't have any problems washing the blood of Israeli children off of his hands.

The story comes from Israel National News.

Canada to resume funding for UN 'Palestinian refugee' agency

The United Nations on Wednesday said that Canada will resume contributing funds to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the UN relief agency that aids and protects “Palestinian refugees”, The Associated Press (AP) reported.

In a statement, the UN said Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is pleased that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government decided to restart the funding for UNRWA.

Canada discontinued the funding in 2010 during the administration of former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper amid criticism that the agency funded schools that had become hotbeds of anti-Israeli extremism.

But Trudeau's Liberal government decided to resume the funding to UNRWA despite its well-documented ties to the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza.

Ban met on Wednesday with Trudeau, who took office in November and has vowed more engagement in world affairs, according to AP.

UNRWA marked its 65th anniversary last year. Ban said at the time that the agency was never meant to exist for 65 years but "exists because of political failure."

Trudeau has raised various question marks vis-a-vis Hamas. He appointed Omar Alghabra as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Alghabra was previously the head of the radical Canadian Arab Federation (CAF), which ran afoul of the state for its open support of Hamas.

His behavior led Canadian journalist Ezra Levant, co-founder of The Rebel Media, to call Trudeau "stupid" in January, quipping that he doesn't know "the difference between Hamas and hummus."

Saudi-led air strikes kill 41 civilians in Yemen

Okay, so if you read this blog post's title and expect some sort of uproar from people in America or the American media, then you are in for a big disappointment.  Because you see, the Saudis are Muslims and being Muslims, don't get criticism from anyone in this world except yours truly and a few others.  So just move along, nothing to see here.

The story comes from DAWN.

Saudi-led air strikes kill 41 civilians in Yemen

RIYADH: Saudi-led air strikes killed 41 civilians and wounded 75 on Tuesday in Yemen's northwestern province of Haja, a senior provincial health official said, a region largely controlled by the Houthi militia.

A spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition that intervened in Yemen's civil war was not immediately available for comment.

The coalition entered the conflict a year ago to stop Houthi forces and others loyal to ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh from seizing the entire country, and has fought to restore the government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Three of Tuesday's air raids hit an outdoor market in the Mustaba district, Ayman Mathkour, director of the Haja health department, told Reuters. He said relatives gathered the bodies and took the wounded to Abs and Mustaba hospitals.

Saba Net, a Yemeni news agency controlled by the Houthis, reported that 65 people had been killed and 55 wounded in the strike on a market and restaurant in Mustaba. A spokesman for the coalition was not immediately available for comment.

The global charity Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) said earlier on Tuesday that more than 40 people, all of them civilians including an eight-year-old in critical condition, were admitted to Abs Hospital after an air strike in Mustaba.

Over 6,000 people, half of them civilians, have been killed in Yemen's conflict since the Saudi-led intervention began in March 2015, according to the United Nations.

In January, a UN panel found that air strikes had targeted civilians, assessed that some of the attacks could be crimes against humanity and recommended the UN Security Council consider establishing an investigation.

The Saudi-led coalition strongly denies targeting civilians. In January it said it had introduced tougher procedures to investigate reports of strikes that caused civilian deaths and to improve its targeting mechanisms with US help.
