Nigerian President Declares State of Emergency Over Islamic Threat

Are the islamists in Nigeria close to perhaps seizing control in the now violence drenched country? Well, apparently the President of Nigeria is concerned enough to have today called for a state of emergency. With the possibility of Muslim gangs, tribes and herdsmen perhaps overtaking control of the African country, there is no word or action from Barack Hussein Obama - apparently the President of the U.S. only reacts when there are Christian-linked groups involved in Africa.

From the report at Breitbart:

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday declared a state of emergency in areas hard hit by violence blamed on Islamist sect Boko Haram and announced the closure of part of the country's borders.

"While the search for lasting solutions is ongoing, it has become imperative to take some decisive measures necessary to restore normalcy in the country especially within the affected communities," Jonathan said in a nationwide broadcast.

"Consequently, I have in the exercise of the powers conferred on me by the provisions of section 305(1) of the constitution, declared a state of emergency (in parts of the states of Plateau, Yobe, Borno and Niger)."

The cold hard facts of Islam's designs on Africa are coming true - each and every day we see the push of the islamists southward into the continent - we see the nations of Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda under siege - we see African unity troops trying to protect Ethiopia...it is a continental war zone as the minions of Mohammed purge the country of Christians and others.

When the Islamists moved throughout Asia toppling country after country, no one dared blame it on Islam. When the Islamists took over much of southeast Asia, no one dared point a finger at the ideology of Islam. When the Islamists took over northern Africa, again no one said it was because of Islam. And now, as the very continent of Africa is being raped by the Islamists, still no one will stand up and tell the truth.

Islam is all about conquering and establishing the world caliphate. When the hell are Americans and everyone else, for that matter, going to get that through their thick skulls?

"Poor" and "Down trodden" Hezbollah Terror Leader Worth....(wait for it)....$250 Million

Just the other night I was in a Blog Talk Radio chat room and had a spirited debate with a Left-inclined individual who made the claim that all islamic terrorists were in that position because they came out of poverty - he insisted that if all of these peoples in all of these Muslim countries were "better off", there would be NO islamic terror.

Well, a story is out that reveals American intelligence that Hezbollah's leader in Lebanon, namely Hassan Nasrallah, is worth in excess of $250 million - now, I would say that if islamic terror is directly linked to the poverty of an individual, that Nasrallah would have given up his vocation long ago.

From the story at Ynet News:

Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah is worth some $250 million, a Kuwaiti newspaper reported recently, quoting American intelligence officials.

According to the report, the fortune of Nasrallah's deputy, Sheikh Naim Qassem, and other senior organization members amounts to as much as $2 billion.

But here's the fun part - read how Nasrallah and the other Hezbollahboys actually get their money and play around with storing it:

The anonymous intelligence sources believe the funds have been deposited in hundreds of bank accounts across the world, including in Europe, using fabricated or fake names.

Two Western sources are quoted as saying that the Hezbollah leaders from time to time channel millions of dollars from their bank accounts or their wives' bank accounts to senior members of the Revolutionary Guards in Iran, who are responsible for transferring money to the Shiite organization from the office of Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to the report, Iranian parliament members are aware of this corruption, are unhappy with it but are avoiding discussing it.

Straw companies

A British security source who worked at the embassies in Saudi Arabia and Lebanon in the 1990s is quoted as saying that the West has figured out Hezbollah's money laundering method.

According to the source, the Shiite organization's common method is setting up straw companies in Arab or African countries, which sell cars or large amounts of goods.

The organizations also operate small cells of six to 10 people who specialize in stealing cellular phones, personal computers or credit cards, and open fake bank accounts using the victims' details.

According to the report, the Hezbollah members also specialize in stealing passports, which are used by the organization operatives to travel around the world for commerce purposes, among others.

See? Now aren't you just taken back by the horrid conditions of these poor wittle jihadis suffering under the incredible occupation of the nasty Zionists? hahaha

Meanwhile, America and other dhimmified Western countries continue to pour money into these Middle Eastern countries with the lion's share going to these terror groups. And now we know just why these guys are always laughing....it's cuz they are laughing all the way to the BANK.

By setting up companies, mainly in Eastern European countries and in Soviet republics in central Asia, Hezbollah provides all the financial needs of the organization members in Lebanon.
According to a recent report among many on the organization's financial situation, senior Iranian officials are furious over an internal report pointing to corruption among Hezbollah's highest ranks.

Another report says the Iranians were "amazed" to learn of the flamboyant life led by the organization members, mainly during their visits abroad.

Israeli Airstrike Kills Leader of Army of Islam In Gaza

Muaman Abu Daf, the leader of the Army of Islam, was killed in an Israeli air strike. Reuters photo.

Al Qaeda in Gaza is having a bad week as the Israelis are mopping up their operations in Gaza...the so-called "Army of Islam" lost their leader yesterday to an Israeli air force airstrike adding to several other Army of Islam jihadis who launched their last rockets into Israel the other day.

From the article at The Long War Journal:

The Israeli Air Force killed an emir of the al Qaeda-linked Jaish al Islam, or Army of Islam, in an airstrike in northern Gaza. The airstrike is the latest by Israel that has targeted al Qaeda-affiliated terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli fighter-bombers killed Muaman Abu Daf, a leader of the Army of Islam, in a strike in the Zeitoun district in Gaza City today. Hamas, the terror group which runs Gaza, confirmed that Abu Daf was killed in the attack. Five other Palestinians were wounded. Members of the Army of Islam wrapped Abu Daf's body in the flag flown by al Qaeda in Iraq, Shabaab, and other al Qaeda affiliates in the Middle East.

The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed the strike and said the Air Force "targeted a terrorist squad that was identified moments before firing rockets at Israel from the northern Gaza Strip."

"A hit was confirmed, thwarting the rocket fire attempt," the IDF said in a statement released on its website. "The aforementioned squad is responsible for the firing of rockets at Israel in the past number of days."

Today's strike that killed Abu Daf is the third by the Israeli Air Force against what the IDF refers to as "Global Jihad-affiliated terrorists," or Gaza-based groups linked to al Qaeda. On Dec. 27, the Israeli Air Force killed Abdallah Telbani, who was involved in a plot to attack Israel from the Egyptian Sinai as well as with rocket and IED attacks along the Israeli-Gaza border.

Here's what's going on in Gaza, at least in my estimation. Israel is showing Hamas and Islamic Jihad that they have tabs on EVERY mutherfucker in Gaza that is making moves to launch rockets and they are also showing that their intelligence has organization members marked and tracked. In other words, this is a "teachable moment" for Hamas and Islamic Jihad - if Israel knows exactly where all of the Army of Islam dudes are and take them out by airstrike, they have the same ability for those other two terror groups.

You will notice that Hamas and Islamic Jihad have been very quiet since the middle of this past week.

And on Dec. 28, the Israeli Air Force killed Rami Daoud Jabar Khafarna and Hazam Mahmad Sa'adi Al Shakr, two former Hamas members who were involved with "Global Jihad-affiliated terrorist" networks in Gaza. Khafarna and Shakr were members of a "squad" that "was previously known to the IDF due to its attempt in carrying out a terror attack on the Israel-Egypt border."

There are four main Salafist groups that operate in the Gaza Strip. All four groups have expressed their support for al Qaeda. Those groups are the Jaish al Islam, Jund Ansar Allah, Jaish al Ummah, and Jaish al Mu'minun. These groups have clashed with Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated terror group that rules Gaza and is supported by Iran and Syria. [See LWJ report, Israel kills 'Global Jihad affiliated-terrorists' in Gaza airstrikes, for summaries of the four terror groups.]

Background on the Army of Islam

The Army of Islam "subscribes to a Salafist ideology of global jihad together with the traditional model of armed Palestinian resistance," the US State Department said in a May 2011 press release that announced the group's designation as a terrorist entity. The terror group "has previously worked with Hamas and is attempting to develop closer al Qaeda contacts."

Mumtaz Dughmush is the leader of the Army of Islam. He was listed by the US State Department as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist in August 2011.

The group has released propaganda that has expressed its affiliation and support for al Qaeda. On May 7, 2011, just five days after the death of Osama bin Laden, the Army of Islam released a statement eulogizing the al Qaeda leader. Also, in August 2008, Sheikh Abu Harith al Ansari, an Army of Islam leader, released a statement on jihadist forums that claimed bin Laden would seek to focus his attacks on "the Jews."

In addition to launching mortar and rocket attacks into Israel, the Army of Islam "has been responsible for numerous terrorist acts against the Governments of Israel and Egypt, as well as American, British and New Zealander citizens," the US State Department said. "The group is also responsible for early 2009 attacks on Egyptian civilians in Cairo and Heliopolis, which resulted in casualties and deaths." The Egyptian government accused the Army of Islam of executing the Jan. 1, 2011 bombing at a Coptic church in Alexandria that killed 21 people.

The terror group became known in 2006 after it captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit and then turned him over to Hamas. Also in 2006, the Army of Islam kidnapped two Fox News journalists.

In 2007, a cell from the Army of Islam, led by Khattab al Maqdasi, kidnapped BBC reporter Alan Johnston. Maqdasi is said to have fought alongside the Taliban in Afghanistan. The group demanded Abu Qatada's release in exchange for Johnston.

Bare Naked Islam Blog Back Up....For Now

I just stopped over at Bare Naked Islam's site and to my delight, found the blog up and running on Wordpress.

Here's the headline that greeted me there:

Bare Naked Islam is back……sort of

WordPress now saying that CAIR had nothing to do with their decision to take down my blog (despite CAIR bragging about it all over the internet). But they still want me off by Jan. 6th.

So what the hell is that? Well, I'll tell you what - I did some digging on Wordpress after this charade was announced since I was a bit more than pissed off and I found that Wordpress is run by a collection of misfits with a corporate name of Automattic - I researched them a little and found their headquarters is in ....wait for it....San Francisco, California. Whoa, there's a big surprise.

The operators of Automattic reads like a Who's Who of tree hugging Leftist Occupying computer geek granola nerds.

Hopefully, we'll find out more of what really happened - if Wordpress is saying that CAIR had nothing to do with it then why was CAIR announcing this to the world before ANYONE knew? Come on Automattic...if they pulled your chain and you caved then at least admit it.

Wordpress isn't off the hook on this. Automattic isn't off the hook on this. And most certainly, CAIR is not off the hook on this.

While Obama Has Turned NASA Into a Ghost Town, China Plans Space Labs, Moon Shots and Space Stations

A Long March 2F rocket carrying China's first space laboratory module lifts off on September 29, 2011 in Jiuquan

We all know why Barack Hussein Obama nixed most of our NASA program...because he wanted to follow through on his dream of leveling the playing field around the world...reducing America from the pinnacle of exceptionalism and leadership to just the same old same old as the rest of the planet. Well, apparently, the leadership in China has seen Obama's degradation of American superiority in space as a chance to take that spot and as this article at CNN points out, the Chinese have some very aggressive plans for THEIR space program.

From the article:

China plans to put laboratories in space, collect samples from the moon and prepare to build space stations over the next five years, according to an ambitious plan released this week aimed at putting the country on the global map for space exploration.

China also plans to launch manned-vessels and freighters into space during the coming half-decade, according to a government white paper. The country's eventual goal in the longer term is a manned lunar landing.

"With economic progress, also comes the need for scientific development and exploration," said Jiao Weixin, a professor at the School of Earth and Space Sciences at Beijing University. "By investing in space exploration, China wants to contribute and be a major player in the world on more than one level."

The Chinese plans announced this week come as the United States has been scaling back its ambitions and funding for space exploration.

Since day one of his Presidency, Barack Hussein Obama has shown an interest in cutting spending in only two areas - one was NASA and the other is defense. Consider that for a bit. The cuts at NASA will easily put China in the lead in space exploration and the defense cuts, well, we may just see the power edge for America there go the same way....in case you haven't heard, China is pumping money hand over fist into it's navy and other military aspects.

Barack Obama's cuts in spending at NASA weren't used to pay off our debt...they were funneled into more reckless spending on the behalf of the unions and other special interests, but the net effect is another blow to the pride of each and every American.

Imagine in 2013, school children in America in every classroom huddled around television monitors to see ......CHINESE astronauts achieving the next milestone in space. American children sitting there with eyes wide open saying...."boy, I wish America could do something like that someday!"

Fuck this President.

China unveils ambitious plan for space exploration

(CNN) -- China plans to put laboratories in space, collect samples from the moon and prepare to build space stations over the next five years, according to an ambitious plan released this week aimed at putting the country on the global map for space exploration.

Since 2003, China has made major breakthroughs in its space program, including becoming the third country after Russia and the United States to put a human in space. It successfully completed a spacewalk in 2008.

In November, the successful automated docking and return of an unmanned spacecraft, Shenzhou-8, paved the way for the creation of China's future space laboratory. The spaceship blasted off from a launch facility in the Gobi Desert in northwest China, one month after the first space laboratory module Tiangong-1 was launched into space.

China says its military-run space program will be used for peaceful purposes. But its activities have set off controversy in the past, like when it shot down one of its dead satellites in 2007, for example. That move alarmed some officials in the United States and other countries and raised concerns about the militarization of the space race.

Some experts say a critical gap in Chinese-U.S. space relations is the absence of regularized talks on space security, which took place between Washington and Moscow during the Cold War.

"In this regard, the Obama administration has made overtures at the military-to-military level," Clay Moltz, an professor in the Department of National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif., said in an e-mail response. "The ball is now in China's court to respond. How it responds may say a lot about its true intentions in space."

Two more space docking missions are planned for 2012, with at least one of them manned. But despite the progress, some experts say China still has a long way to go in developing its space technology.

"China is still catching up to countries that began their space programs in the 1960s," said Jiao. "It may be impressive to see what China has done in the past decade, but there is still a long way to go."

The paper also says China will develop technology to monitor space debris, study black holes and develop small satellites for environmental and disaster monitoring and forecasting.

Obama Administration Considers Releasing Worst of the Worst Taliban Prisoner From Gitmo

The Obama administration continues to reassure islamic terrorists, jihadists and enemy combatants around the world that there won't be a price to pay for targeting Americans, killing our troops and mass murdering civilians as today it is reported here at Reuters via Breitbart that Obama and his appeasers are considering the release of Mohammed Fazl from Guantanamo Bay prison and handing him over to the Afghans (where he will more than likely be permitted to "escape" in about 3 days).

From the report:

The Obama administration is considering transferring to Afghan custody a senior Taliban official suspected of major human rights abuses as part of a long-shot bid to improve the prospects of a peace deal in Afghanistan, Reuters has learned.

The potential hand-over of Mohammed Fazl, a 'high-risk detainee' held at the Guantanamo Bay military prison since early 2002, has set off alarms on Capitol Hill and among some U.S. intelligence officials.

As a senior commander of the Taliban army, Fazl is alleged to be responsible for the killing of thousands of Afghanistan's minority Shi'ite Muslims between 1998 and 2001.

According to U.S. military documents made public by WikiLeaks, he was also on the scene of a November 2001 prison riot that killed CIA operative Johnny Micheal Spann, the first American who died in combat in the Afghan war. There is no evidence, however, that Fazl played any direct role in Spann's death.

So, that is where Barack Hussein Obama has dragged the Presidency of the United States of America down to? He's resorted to the simple diplomacy of bargaining away mass murderers and terrorists and the killers of U.S. service people? Hmmm....seems to me that America has never negotiated before.

Is this the continuing signal to our enemies? Go ahead and blow up American interests, go ahead and kill our troops and CIA personnel, go ahead and attempt terror attacks on American soil and good old Barry al-Soetoro al-Obama will promise you .... a) a civilian trial in America b) an early release from Gitmo c) a full pardon.

Let's all wake up here - the full press of surrender to the Taliban is underway...from this move to the announcement from Joe Biden that the Taliban aren't really our enemy. What's the final move by Obama here? A full bow to Mullah Omar?

Exclusive: U.S. mulls transfer of senior Taliban prisoner

(Reuters) - The Obama administration is considering transferring to Afghan custody a senior Taliban official suspected of major human rights abuses as part of a long-shot bid to improve the prospects of a peace deal in Afghanistan, Reuters has learned.

Senior U.S. officials have said their 10-month-long effort to set up substantive negotiations between the weak government of Afghan President Hamid Karzai and the Taliban has reached a make-or-break moment. Reuters reported earlier this month that they are proposing an exchange of "confidence-building measures," including the transfer of five detainees from Guantanamo and the establishment of a Taliban office outside of Afghanistan.

Now Reuters has learned from U.S. government sources the identity of one of the five detainees in question.

The detainees, the officials emphasized, would not be set free, but remain in some sort of further custody. It is unclear precisely what conditions they would be held under.

In response to inquiries by Reuters, a senior administration official said that the release of Fazl and four other Taliban members had been requested by the Afghan government and Taliban representatives as far back as 2005.

The debate surrounding the White House's consideration of high-profile prisoners such as Fazl illustrates the delicate course it must tread both at home and abroad as it seeks to move the nascent peace process ahead.

One U.S. intelligence official said there had been intense bipartisan opposition in Congress to the proposed transfer.

"I can tell you that the hair on the back of my neck went up when they walked in with this a month ago, and there's been very, very strong letters fired off to the administration," the official said on condition of anonymity.

The senior administration official confirmed that the White House has received letters from lawmakers on the issue. "We will not characterize classified Congressional correspondence, but what is clear is the President's order to us to continue to discuss these important matters with Congress," the official said.

Even supporters of a controversial deal with the Taliban - a fundamentalist group that refers to Americans as infidels and which is still killing U.S., NATO and Afghan soldiers on the battlefield - say the odds of striking an accord are slim.

Critics of Obama's peace initiative remain deeply skeptical of the Taliban's willingness to negotiate, given that the West's intent to pull out most troops after 2014 could give insurgents a chance to reclaim lost territory or push the weak Kabul government toward collapse.

The politically charged nature of the initiative was on display this month when the Karzai government angrily recalled its ambassador from Doha and complained Kabul was being cut out of U.S.-led efforts to establish a Taliban office in Qatar.

U.S. officials appear to have smoothed things over with Karzai since then. Karzai's High Peace Council is signaling it would accept a liaison office for the Taliban office in Qatar - but also warning foreign powers that they cannot keep the Afghan government on the margins.

The detainee transfer may be even more politically explosive for the White House. In discussing the proposal, U.S. officials have stressed the move would be a 'national decision' made in consultation with the U.S. Congress.

Obama is expected to soon sign into law a defense authorization bill whose provisions would broaden the military's power over terrorist detainees and require the Pentagon to certify in most cases that certain security conditions will be met before Guantanamo prisoners can be sent home.

The mere idea of such a transfer is already raising hackles on Capitol Hill, where one key senator last week cautioned the administration against negotiating with "terrorists."

Senator Saxby Chambliss, the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said such detainees would "likely continue to pose a threat to the United States" even once they were transferred.

POTENTIAL MAELSTROM

In February, the Afghan High Peace Council named a half-dozen it wanted released as a goodwill gesture. The list included Fazl; senior Taliban military commander Noorullah Noori; former deputy intelligence minister Abdul Haq Wasiq; and Khairullah Khairkhwa, a former interior minister.

All but Khairkhwa were sent to Guantanamo on January 11, 2002, according to the military documents, meaning they were among the first prisoners sent there.

Bruce Riedel, a former CIA and White House official, said Fazl was alleged to have been involved in 'very ugly' violence against Shi'ites, including members of the Hazara ethnic minority, beginning in the late 1990s, and the deaths of Iranian diplomats and journalists at the Iranian consulate in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif in 1998.

Michael Semple, a former UN official with more than two decades of experience in Afghanistan, said Fazl commanded thousands of Taliban soldiers at a time when its army carried out massacres of Shi'ites. "If you're head of an army that carries out a massacre, even if you're not actually there, you are implicated by virtue of command and control responsibility," he said.

He added: "However it does not serve the interests of justice selectively to hold Taliban to account, while so many other figures accused of past crimes are happily reintegrated in Kabul."

Some U.S. military documents - select documents have been released, others were leaked - indicate that Fazl denied being a senior Taliban official and says he only commanded 50 or 60 men. But the overall picture of his role is unclear from the documents which have become public.

Richard Kammen is an Indiana lawyer who has nominally represented Fazl; the detainee did not want an attorney.

"Based upon the public information with which I'm familiar, it would appear his role in things back in 2001 has been significantly exaggerated by the government," Kammen said.

According to the documents, Fazl and Noori surrendered to Abdul Rashid Dostum, now Afghanistan's army chief of staff but at the time a powerful warlord battling against the Taliban, in northern Afghanistan in November 2001.

While the men were being held at the historic Qala-i-Jani fortress in Mazar-i-Sharif, Taliban prisoners revolted against their captors from the Northern Alliance, the anti-Taliban coalition.

"Dostum brought (Fazl and Noori) to the bunker to ask the prisoners to surrender; detainee and (Noori) refused," the detainee assessment from a 2008 document read.

Spann, a one-time Marine captain who was sent to Afghanistan as a CIA operative in the fall of 2001, was trying to locate al Qaeda operatives at the Mazar fortress among a large group of Taliban soldiers who had surrendered, according to the CIA and media reports at the time. When the Taliban prisoners began to riot - many of them were apparently armed - Spann was surrounded and killed. After a bloody, multi-day battle his body was later found booby-trapped.

Even a loose association between Fazl and Spann's death - despite the fact there is nothing to suggest he was directly involved - is likely to increase the temperature of the debate in Washington.

What could be problematic for some Afghans is Fazl's identification with the killing of civilians in central and northern Afghanistan.

"The composition and timing of any release has got to pay attention to Northern Alliance concerns," Semple said.

Buy-in from supporters of that alliance - and from those wary of a resurgent Taliban - will be key in making a peace deal stick, if one can be had.

Despite the congressional concerns that released Taliban will return to the battlefield, Semple said it was unlikely even prisoners like Fazl - who truly was a significant military figure for the Taliban - would alter that equation.

"These people are not going to make a real contribution to the Taliban war effort even if they are able to go over to Quetta and rejoin the fight. It's not risky in battlefield terms; it's only risky in U.S. political terms."

Political Correctness - Our Titanic

America continues to weather the attacks from all sides - we see these in the form of political correctness, multiculturalism, human rights commissions, hate speech codes, islamophobia claims, cultural Marxism and full out communism. But what happens when some of these forces hellbent on destroying America, the Constitution and our very way of life actually combine forces? Well, this article from Family Security Matters speaks to that in regards to the issue of political correctness.

From the article:

Now Disney must accommodate the Hijab. And what if these Hijabs morph into the Taliban style Burkas? Why do the needs of the wearer, to hide all but the eyes, trump the sensitivities of the paying public, the understandable focus of the employer? Why does the Islamic disdain of certain Minnesota taxis for dogs and alcohol take precedence over the cab rider's normal and standard needs? Why install at our universities footbaths, Shariah compliant toilets, Hallal cafeterias and private prayer areas for a vociferous minority when every other minority (and there are many indeed) managed for decades in peace and mutual tolerance without demonstrations or violence? How many businesses can afford 5 prayer breaks a day? The religious Jew prays comfortably before and after work. Christians, Bahai, Buddist and the majority of Muslims meld rather than seek to dominate or separate?

What we are seeing is a collusion between forces of the Left in America who truly believe in the evil nature of America itself and they are now willing to band together with the islamists who truly believe their way is superior to America and that Islam gives them the right to our land. The Left has made this alliance because they want the structure of America, the Constitution toppled and left in ruin....they aren't long term thinkers as to what the islamists will do once they succeed.

Political Correctness - Our Titanic

Pandering will sink us, will weaken our foundations and our unique culture; a culture of tolerance yet of logic, of equality but also of independence.

It is our behavior (and not our thoughts) that should be the real issue. How we treat each other, whether we abuse or respect each other, whether we acknowledge all people with equality and fairness. That is the American way.

It is not the American way to become more like Saudi Arabia or Iran. There they have public dress codes, Shariah law and other niceties like stonings, beheadings and honor killings. Ours is a modern society based on humanistic behavior, on accommodating the individual - not serving the Sheik, the Imam, the police or local thugs.

Here we protect and nurture the individual, not subvert our freedoms in the service of the "greater good" as defined by Allah's unblemished representatives here on earth, or by a dictator's goons, as the case may be.

When the Irish, the Jews, the Indians and the Hindus applied for jobs, they chose their workplace and accommodated to the rules accordingly. When was the last time a Hasidic Jew with full length black coat and fur hat demonstrated outside Miami City Hall for the right to wear their preferred dress in any job of their choosing? When did Hindus demand new cafeterias to accommodate their dietary needs? When did Mormons require separate prayer facilities or Buddhists their temples? What of vegetarians, anorexics, Rastafarians?

I suspect the difference is either insecure or exaggerated victimization or possibly an imperialistic belief in religious and cultural domination. The truth is that whether a Muslim is a radical fanatic or merely strongly Shariah compliant and traditionally observant, many committed Muslims today would prefer Sharia law to have a stronger role in our laws, our mores and our social structures. They would prefer Islam to become the dominant or the sole World religion, for the Muslim Caliphate to once again reign supreme. They believe, as their dominant version of the Koran is clearly interpreted across the Muslim world, that their God is the only God, that their way is the only way and that domination is their right and their goal, whether by creeping Shariah, by internal change of their adopted country or by violent Jihadism. This is not personal conjecture - this is the current predominant Wahabi view as exported by much of the mosques and madrassas worldwide, courtesy of our Saudi friends who have spent more than 2 billion dollars annually on their outreach program. Ahmadinejad's version of his own Shia caliphate (world domination) is not difficult to discern. This essential difference of our time is not well understood by the West. In the past, various cultures and religious expressions were happy to share the world with all others, a certain "live and let live" tolerance, where multiple paths lead to God, many lifestyles to happiness. Just honor my boundaries and I will in turn honor yours. No longer.

The new imperialism is no longer British riflemen marching into the Punjab, or Catholic missionaries and Spain's armies devastating the Indians of the South and Central Americas. No, the new imperialism is as insidious as it is subtle. It uses our laws, our freedoms, our delicate tolerances and passionate fair play to open our societies to all, to endlessly accommodate all, even those who would subvert, dominate and abuse our world and all its largely moderate citizens.

We should draw a line in the sand and say, enough. Why allow our hard earned freedoms and unrivalled refinements to be subverted by the fundamentalisms of the 7th century Middle East? For those who love and respect our freedoms we welcome you, members of all faiths, all religions, all cultures - for those who wish to push us back into the Dark Ages, we invite you to return to those dozens of countries, those nonexistent democracies, that practice these inanities, that specialize in the subjugation of women, the subversion of the individual.

We have freedoms worth fighting for, worth preserving. And many, hopefully more with time, are prepared likewise to do so. We should be a beacon for all the unfree, the abused, the disenfranchised. We already have a surfeit of tolerance in the West - we need to ensure our privileges are preserved and then shared more freely, more visibly amongst all those countries where freedom remains just a distant mirage.

NATO Forces Score Big Killing Taliban Leader and His Two Commanders

Nato soldiers standing guard in Afghanistan. - AP Photo.

Another bright spot in Afghanistan operations as NATO forces along with Afghan army troops have killed a senior Taliban leader and two of his high level commanders in a raid in Farah province. You won't see these kinds of stories on the MSM as they reserve their Afghanistan War footage for only the news that fits their surrender agenda. But when our guys do the job that only they can do and take down the worst of the worst of the Taliban, we're here to cheer 'em on.

The story is from DAWN.

Afghan-Nato raids kill, capture Taliban commanders

KABUL: Nato says joint raids with Afghan forces have killed at least three and captured 11 Taliban commanders and facilitators who provided logistical support and weapons to insurgents.

Friday’s statement from the coalition says an operation earlier this week in Bakwah district in Farah province resulted in the killing of a senior insurgent leader and two of his commanders, as well as a ”number of additional insurgents.”

Early on Friday, Nato and Afghan troops captured 11 Taliban fighters or sympathizers in five separate operations across the country.

Nighttime kill-and-capture raids, in which a number of civilians have died, have become a flashpoint for anger over foreign meddling in Afghanistan. President Hamid Karzai has demanded that foreign troops stop breaking into homes.

Taliban Jihadi In Afghan Army Uniform Murders Two NATO Troops (Most Likely French)

There have been several incidents over the past year in which Afghan government security forces – or those purporting to be – have turned their weapons on foreign troops.—AFP (File Photo)

This is becoming all too common in the War in Afghanistan where the Taliban either sneak one of their jihadis onto bases wearing Afghan army uniforms or they turn one of the ANA troops to their side but today, two NATO troops were shot dead by one of these masqueraders - it appears that the two NATO troops were more than likely French.

From the report at DAWN:

A man wearing an Afghan army uniform on Thursday shot dead two members of Nato’s US-led International Security Assistance Force, military officials said.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack which they said targeted French troops in Kapisa province, which is east of the capital Kabul.

“An individual wearing an Afghan National Army uniform turned his weapon against two International Security Assistance Forces service members in eastern Afghanistan, today, killing both service members,” a coalition statement said.

ISAF said it was investigating but did not identify the nationality of the victims in line with policy.

“This morning one Afghan soldier named Ebrahim killed three French soldiers. He was also martyred,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said.

I wonder...if Joe Biden reads this article, is he STILL going to claim that the Taliban aren't the enemy of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan?

On Christmas eve an Afghan soldier was killed after opening fire on US troops in southwestern Farah province.

The Rape of Somalia's Women and Girls

A rape victim in Mogadishu hid her identity. Aid workers say there has been a free-for-all of armed men preying upon women and girls displaced by famine.

Some of you might have seen my post from the other day when I pointed out to the minions over at The Huffington Post that they have been guilty of ignoring the treatment of women around the world at the hands of the followers of Islam....and then today, I run across this article at the New York Times that describes in vivid detail the horror that Somali women are going through at the hands of Islamic al-Shabaab.

Look at some of this story:

The girl’s voice dropped to a hush as she remembered the bright, sunny afternoon when she stepped out of her hut and saw her best friend buried in the sand, up to her neck.

Her friend had made the mistake of refusing to marry a Shabab commander. Now she was about to get her head bashed in, rock by rock.

“You’re next,” the Shabab warned the girl, a frail 17-year-old who was living with her brother in a squalid refugee camp.

Several months later, the men came back. Five militants burst into her hut, pinned her down and gang-raped her, she said. They claimed to be on a jihad, or holy war, and any resistance was considered a crime against Islam, punishable by death.

Somalia is a deeply traditional place, where 98 percent of girls are subject to genital cutting, according to United Nations figures. Most girls are illiterate and relegated to their homes. When they venture out, it is usually to work, trudging through the rubble-strewn alleyways wrapped head to toe in thick black cloth, often lugging something on their back, the equatorial sun burning down on them.

So, we have close to 19,000 Islamic terror attacks since 9/11/01 in the world, we have women in Europe, Asia and Africa being raped day in and day out by Islamists and the political leaders of America still refuse to say that we have a problem with Islam. When a jihadi suicide attacker kills dozens, it's a "workplace incident"....if a woman is gang raped it is a matter for sharia law.

I'd add this - look at every islamic country in this world and just monitor daily life there - even in the most harshly ruled countries, it is non-stop violence and abuse... there is this element to Islam that needs to feed on fear, on blood, on shame. And yet, the world has nothing to fear from this peaceful "religion" , right?

For Somali Women, Pain of Being a Spoil of War

MOGADISHU, Somalia — The girl’s voice dropped to a hush as she remembered the bright, sunny afternoon when she stepped out of her hut and saw her best friend buried in the sand, up to her neck.

“I’ve had some very bad dreams about these men,” she said, having recently escaped the area they control. “I don’t know what religion they are.”

Somalia has been steadily worn down by decades of conflict and chaos, its cities in ruins and its people starving. Just this year, tens of thousands have died from famine, with countless others cut down in relentless combat. Now Somalis face yet another widespread terror: an alarming increase in rapes and sexual abuse of women and girls.

The Shabab militant group, which presents itself as a morally righteous rebel force and the defender of pure Islam, is seizing women and girls as spoils of war, gang-raping and abusing them as part of its reign of terror in southern Somalia, according to victims, aid workers and United Nations officials. Short of cash and losing ground, the militants are also forcing families to hand over girls for arranged marriages that often last no more than a few weeks and are essentially sexual slavery, a cheap way to bolster their ranks’ flagging morale.

But it is not just the Shabab. In the past few months, aid workers and victims say, there has been a free-for-all of armed men preying upon women and girls displaced by Somalia’s famine, who often trek hundreds of miles searching for food and end up in crowded, lawless refugee camps where Islamist militants, rogue militiamen and even government soldiers rape, rob and kill with impunity.

With the famine putting hundreds of thousands of women on the move — severing them from their traditional protection mechanism, the clan — aid workers say more Somali women are being raped right now than at any time in recent memory. In some areas, they say, women are being used as chits at roadblocks, surrendered to the gunmen staffing the barrier in the road so that a group of desperate refugees can pass.

“The situation is intensifying,” said Radhika Coomaraswamy, the United Nations’ special representative for children and armed conflict. All the recent flight has created a surge in opportunistic rapes, she said, and “for the Shabab, forced marriage is another aspect they are using to control the population.”

In the past two months, from Mogadishu alone, the United Nations says it has received more than 2,500 reports of gender-based violence, an unusually large number here. But because Somalia is a no-go zone for most operations, United Nations officials say they are unable to confirm the reports, leaving the work to fledgling Somali aid organizations under constant threat.

The famine and mass displacement, which began over the summer, have made women and girls more vulnerable. Many Somali communities have been disbanded, and with armed groups forcing men and boys into their militias, it is often single women, with children in tow, who set off on the dangerous odyssey to refugee camps.

At the same time, aid workers and United Nations officials say the Shabab, who are fighting Somalia’s transitional government and imposing a harsh version of Islam in the areas they control, can no longer pay their several thousand fighters the way they used to. Much as they seize crops and livestock, giving their militants what they call “temporary wives” is how the Shabab keep many young men fighting for them.

But these are hardly marriages, said Sheik Mohamed Farah Ali, a former Shabab commander who defected to the government army.

“There’s no cleric, no ceremony, nothing,” he said, adding that Shabab fighters had even paired up with thin little girls as young as 12, who are left torn and incontinent afterward. If a girl refuses, he said, “she’s killed by stones or bullets.”

One young woman just delivered a baby, half Somali, half Arab. She said she was selected by a Somali Shabab fighter she knew, brought to a house full of guns and handed off to a portly Arab commander, one of the many foreigners fighting for the Shabab.

“He did whatever he wanted with me,” she said. “Night and day.”

She said she escaped when he was sleeping.

The Elman Peace and Human Rights Center is one of the few Somali organizations helping rape victims, run by Fartuun Adan, a tall, outspoken woman whose husband, Elman, was gunned down by warlords years ago. Ms. Adan says that since the famine began, she has met hundreds of women who have been raped and hundreds more who have escaped forced marriages.

“You have no idea how difficult it is for them to come forward,” she said. “There’s no justice here, no protection. People say, ‘You’re junk’ if you’ve been raped.”

Often, the women are left wounded or pregnant, forced to seek help. Ms. Adan wants to expand her medical services and counseling for rape victims and possibly open a safe house, but it is hard to do on a budget of $5,000 a month, provided by a small aid organization called Sister Somalia. Ms. Adan wept on a recent day as she listened to the 17-year-old girl recount the story of seeing her friend stoned to death and then being gang-raped herself.

“These girls ask me, ‘How am I going to get married, what’s going to be my future, what’s going to happen to me?’ ” she said. “We can’t answer that.”

Some of the women in Ms. Adan’s office seem to have come from another time. They have made it here, with help from Elman’s network, from the deepest recesses of rural Somalia, where women are still treated like chattel.

One 18-year-old who asked to go by Ms. Nur, her common last name, was married off at 10. She was a nomad and says that to this day she has never used a phone or seen a television.

She spoke of being raped by two Shabab fighters at a displaced-persons camp in October. She said the men did not bother saying much when they entered her hut. They just pointed their guns at her chest and uttered two words: stay silent.

Israel Continues To Cull the Jihadi Herd In Gaza, 3 Rocket-firing Terrorists Killed In IDF Airstrikes

It's not like the Israelis have sent mixed signals over the past year or so about jihadis shooting rockets into Israel - if it happens, then a response will happen and today was no different when two Israeli airstrikes went down in Gaza taking out three former Hamas terrorists who apparently now belong to some al Qaeda-linked terror group. No matter, they're dead and the world rejoices.

From the article at The Long War Journal:

The Israeli Defense Forces killed three al Qaeda-linked terrorists during two airstrikes in the Gaza strip over the past 24 hours.

During an airstrike today in the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF killed Rami Daoud Jabar Khafarna and Hazam Mahmad Sa'adi Al Shakr, both described as "Global Jihad-affiliated" terrorists, the IDF said in a press release on its website. The IDF uses the term "Global Jihad-affiliated terrorist" to describe members of Salafist groups linked to al Qaeda's network in the region.

Both Khafarna and Shakr were previously members of Hamas prior to joining the unnamed Salafist group. Khararna "is known to have taken part in firing rockets at Israel," while Shakr "has planted and detonated explosive devices against IDF soldiers, along the border with the Gaza Strip."

The terrorists were members of a "squad" that "was previously known to the IDF due to its attempt in carrying out a terror attack on the Israel-Egypt border."

Today's airstrike followed another yesterday that killed Abdallah Telbani in Gaza city. Telbani was also described as a "Global Jihad-affiliated terrorist," and was involved in a plot to attack Israel from the Egyptian Sinai as well as with rocket and IED attacks along the Israeli-Gaza border, according to Reuters.

Now, I'm guessing that at some point in time today this will all be reported by the New York Times or MSNBC that these Gazans killed were single fathers feeding their babies pablum while the Israeli missiles hit their mud huts but the fact of the matter in all of this is these jihadis fire rockets off from Gaza and they literally go on a list. The Israelis know who they are, they know when they move and as today proved true...they know just when to end their life.

Telbani was also described as a "Global Jihad-affiliated terrorist," and was involved in a plot to attack Israel from the Egyptian Sinai as well as with rocket and IED attacks along the Israeli-Gaza border, according to Reuters.

Additionally, al Qaeda in the Sinai and its military arm, Ansar al Jihad, which announced its formation last week, are now operating in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula [see list below]. Al Qaeda in the Sinai has been establishing ties with the Gaza-based Salafist groups and is seeking to coordinate operations, a US intelligence official told The Long War Journal.

Security in the Sinai Peninsula has deteriorated since the popular uprising last winter that resulted in former President Mubarak's ouster. Hundreds of Islamists, many from Ayman al Zawahiri's Egyptian Islamic Group, have been freed from prisons, and some are thought to have returned to support terror groups.

Al Qaeda in the Sinai is also thought to have been involved in a series of attacks in August near the Israeli resort town of Eliat that killed eight Israelis, as well as bombings against a natural gas pipeline between Israel and Egypt.

Al Qaeda-linked Salafist groups in Gaza:

Army of Islam, or Jaish al Islam, is an al Qaeda-linked terror group based in Gaza. The Army of Islam is also known as the Tawhid and Jihad Brigades. It was founded in late 2005 and is currently led by Mumtaz Dughmush. It is reported to have been been financed by Mohammad Dahlan, the Fatah security chief of Gaza before Hamas took power in 2007. The Army of Islam is linked to Abu Qatada, a Palestinian who serves as al Qaeda's spiritual leader in Europe and who is currently in British custody.

The group has released propaganda expressing its affiliation with and support for al Qaeda. On May 7, 2011, just five days after the death of Osama bin Laden, the Army of Islam released a statement eulogizing the al Qaeda leader. Also, in August 2008, Sheikh Abu Harith al Ansari, an Army of Islam leader, released a statement on jihadist forums that claimed bin Laden would seek to focus his attacks on "the Jews." The US State Department designated the Army of Islam as a terrorist entity in May 2011.

Jund Ansar Allah, or the Warriors of God. Jund Ansar Allah members are thought to have fought in Afghanistan and Iraq. In August 2009, the group battled Hamas after its leader, Latif Moussa (Abu al Nour al Maqdissi), said Hamas was not sufficiently Islamic. Moussa declared an Islamic emirate, or state, in Rafah and the Palestinian territories.

Moussa's actions prompted an immediate crackdown from Hamas, which was threatened by the Salafist group's challenges to Hamas rule in Gaza. Hamas attacked Jund Ansar Allah members at their mosque and other locations. Moussa and Abu Abdullah al Suri, the group's military emir, were among those killed during the fighting [for more information, see LWJ report, Hamas and al Qaeda-linked group clash in Gaza].

Jaish al Ummah, or the Army of the Nation. The Jaish al Ummah group released the first videotape claiming to be an al Qaeda-linked group in Gaza. The video showed its masked fighters training in the desert and riding on horseback. Jaish al Ummah warned about the creeping influence of Iran and its proxy, Islamic Jihad.

Jaish al Mu'minun, or the Army of Believers; also known as Al Qaeda in Palestine. This little-known group looted the American International School, opened fire at a YMCA center, and is believed to have murdered a Christian book seller. The group claimed to have "no organic links with al Qaeda," but said "we share its ideology." In a propaganda tape, the group said its "goal is not only to liberate Palestine, but to spread Islam everywhere."

House and Senate Democrats Run For the Hills...Why All of the Retirements? One Word....Obamacare

Believe me, the list of House and Senate Democrats who have decided to retire and not go through the agony of a re-election in 2012 is going to grow over the next couple of months and it already is getting pretty damn long. With Democrat control of the White House and the U.S. Senate, why the huge bailing out of all of these Democrat Congress critters? It's simple. It's one word. Obamacare.

You see, the American people have not forgotten the ramming of Obamacare down our throat and we have not forgotten HOW the Democrats did it. We have not forgotten the smug face of Nancy Pelosi as she violated the Constitution and all of these Democrats that are running like scared children realize that at every single campaign stop they would attend this coming year, they would be accosted by the American people. The uproar against Obamacare has only grown since it's passage as the truth has come out and in my opinion, the percentage of Americans who are now solidly against Obamacare is upwards of 75%.

So, let's look at the list of Democrat Senators and Representatives who are too chicken to face their votes for Obamacare. Here's the list of the yellow-bellies who sold us out and now are running for the hills:

Democrat U.S. Senators Retiring:

Nelson -(Nebraska)
Akaka -(Hawaii)
Kohl -(Wisconsin)
Bingaman -(New Mexico)
Conrad - (North Dakota)

Democrat U.S. Representatives Retiring:

Frank -(Massachusetts)
Kildee -(Michigan)
Costello -(Illinois)
Olver -(Massachusetts)
Gonzalez -(Texas)
Woolsey -(California)
Cordoza -(California)
Boren -(Oklahoma)
Ross - (Arizona)

If there is a single Republican running against a Democrat for election to the House or Senate who doesn't use Obamacare as his/her main attack tactic of this upcoming election, they are crazy. These retirees knew that they had no defense for their votes. And the ones that are too stupid or too stubborn to quit, best know that they got a lot of 'splainin' to do.

Name one Democrat in the House or the Senate who has actively campaigned using their vote for Obamacare? Name one. They will run from it like a plague and that makes the Republican opponent's first duty to hammer home the reminder to the masses on just how they voted. And if I'm a Republican running against the Democrat replacement candidate for these cowards that are retiring, I will make that candidate from the Left confess just how they would have voted on Obamacare.

This isn't a chink in the armor of the Democrats in 2012, this isn't their achilles heel. This is a gaping hole the size of a city block in the wall of their fortress.

Oh, by the way, let me share a wonderful blog comment that came up over at PatDollard.com in regards to this news:

ATTILA
"THE DEMS ARE ABOUT TO BE DESTROYED,WE WILL CAST THEM INTO THE VOID,THEIR BEST LAID PLANS HAVE RUN AMOK,AND QUITE FRANKLY WE DON’T GIVE A FUCK
WHAT A WONDERFUL THING IS OUR SCHADENFREUDE ."

From PJ Media.

Not Just Barney: Eight Veteran House Dems Retiring

Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) caused a bit of a stir when he announced he was not seeking re-election. Frank, a high-visibility member of Congress for more than 30 years, is in one of the safest Democratic districts in the nation. Yet he is not alone: there are several other Barney Franks fleeing the 112th Congress. Eight other veteran House Democrats who reside in safe congressional seats are throwing in the towel.

The problem isn’t merely in the House. Just this week, U.S. Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska announced he won’t seek re-election this coming November. Nelson is one of seven Senate Democrats who have decided to “voluntarily” retire ahead of the 2012 elections. This is a repeat of the 2010 elections when a flood of Democrats decided to retire rather than face certain defeat.

The retirement of rank-and-file Democrats is an especially bad sign for the Democrats if they have any hope of retaking the U.S. House. The nine House retirements are even more notable because each ranks high in seniority for key House committees — if the House returned to Democratic rule, they would be in line to assume chairmanships. Chairmanships are great perks, offering hideaway offices in the Capitol building and less restrained power and authority. Voluntarily walking away from Hill leadership is uncommon: House members can sit for twenty years on the Hill and never get close to a chairmanship.

To Democratic Party faithful, the nine retiring congressmen present a dramatic picture of the hostile environment Democrats are facing as the 2012 election begins. Some of the retirees had easily won re-election with 60-70% majorities. Their stampede for the exit is yet another admission that the Democrats face a potential “wave” election, and of course, it portends considerable trouble for Barack Obama.

The accelerating House retirements come on the heels of last September’s special election in New York, where an unknown Republican defeated a popular Queens Democrat to take Anthony Weiner’s seat. The New York congressional district was Democratic for 80 years — registered Democrats outnumbered registered Republicans by a three-to-one margin.

Barney Frank is, of course, the headliner of this group: he is one of the best-known and most powerful Democrats outside of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), serving 16 uninterrupted terms. When the Democrats held the House during the first two years of the Obama administration, the Massachusetts Democrat served as the undisputed power at the House Financial Services Committee, muscling through many regulations that pummeled banks. His name is on the Dodd-Frank law, which threatens to impose new regulations on all financial institutions. The law is so complicated that, two years after its enactment, administration regulators still have failed to issue rules for methods of enforcement.

Including Frank, the departing group represents a wealth of experience that will not be easy to replace: The nine have served in office for a combined 172 years.

Most are like Rep. Dale Kildee (D-MI), a House member for a whopping 18 terms. Kildee won office in 1977, the same year Jimmy Carter won the presidency. He is the second most senior member on the House Natural Resources Committee, sitting only behind vocal global warming advocate Ed Markey (D-MA). Kildee has always won election with at least 70% of the vote.

Rep. Jerry Costello (D-IL) originally won office in 1988 with just 51% of the vote. Since then, he has garnered at least 60% each election. He was an early supporter of Barack Obama, and was a candidate to be his secretary of transportation. Costello is the second most senior member of the influential Science, Space and Technology Committee.

Rep. John Olver (D-MA) has served a congressional district with a Cook Partisan Voting Index of D+14. (The most Democratic state in the country is Vermont, which Cook cites as D+13.) He hails from Frank’s state of Massachusetts, and has been a reliable member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, following the lead of hardened progressive and former House Chairman David Obey (D-MI).

Rep. Charlie Gonzalez (D-TX) comes from an ultra-liberal San Antonio political dynasty that was headed up by his father, Rep. Henry Gonzalez. His father was far left-leaning and was once famously accused of being a communist, though he reportedly punched the accuser in the jaw for the remark. (A court exonerated the congressman.)

Gonzalez carefully groomed his son Charlie to succeed him in office. When Henry retired in 1988, Charlie easily won election and followed in the footsteps of his father.

Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) is leaving uber-liberal Marin and Sonoma counties after comfortably holding the post for 19 years. She is the second most senior member on the Energy and Environment subcommittee and ranking member on the pro-union Workforce Protection subcommittee. Woolsey won the congressional district after incumbent Rep. Barbara Boxer announced she would run for the U.S. Senate. Woolsey was one of 118 House members to oppose the U.S. invasion of Iraq. She once introduced a bill to abolish the charter for the Boy Scouts of America.

A number of moderate Democrats are also heading for the hills. This includes Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-CA), who won in 2003 when Rep. Gary Condit did not run after the murder of his intern, Chandra Levy. Cardoza’s district has been solidly Democratic since 1955. Cardoza, who comes from the agriculturally rich Central Valley, is a moderate on environmental matters and is a ranking member of the Livestock, Dairy and Poultry subcommittee.

Rep. Dan Boren (D-OK) is the son of one of Oklahoma’s main Democratic family dynasties. His father David served as a U.S. senator and governor for the state. His grandfather represented Oklahoma as a congressman in the 1930s. Boren is a moderate on the Natural Resources subcommittee that oversees Native Americans. He has served four terms in the House.

The most notable moderate to leave the House is Rep. Mike Ross. Ross is one of the co-chairs of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog caucus, which saw its number cut in half in the 2010 election. Ross, having served six terms from a conservative Arizona district, has been a powerful voice at the Energy and Commerce committee.

One of the reasons many congressmen poised to assume new power are leaving is that they have learned there is simply little power being in the minority, and the chances of regaining a majority appear slim to them.

Kyle Kondik, House race editor at the Center of Politics at the University of Virginia, tells PJ Media: “It’s no fun to be in the minority in the House.” He noted that the retirement of veteran Democrats in safe seats is an admission the House will not return to Democratic hands in 2012: “If you read between the lines, I think you can say that if they were hoping to get their committee chairmanships they would be back. They really don’t see the prospects being very good for taking the House back.”

After 342 Consecutive Weeks of Ignoring Islam's Degradation of Women, The Huffington Post Slams the Mistreatment of a Girl...by ISRAELIS

I actually did it this week - I registered at The Huffington Post because this article absolutely sent me into fire red rage as this rag of a media outlet decided it would run a full length article on the "horrible" abuse of a young girl in Israel by ultra-Orthodox Jews. The article states:

Naama Margolese is a ponytailed, bespectacled second-grader who is afraid of walking to her religious Jewish girls school for fear of ultra-Orthodox extremists who have spat on her and called her a whore for dressing "immodestly."

I literally sat with my jaw on the floor reading this - and so, I decided to register there and blast a few people in comments there that apparently are some sort of "moderator" from the HuffPo.

In a nutshell, this is what I told them:

" So let me get this straight, HuffPo. After 342 weeks of your media site being up and operational, after 342 weeks of you totally ignoring the rape, genital mutilation, stoning and hanging of women of Islam, after 342 weeks of you not mentioning the fact that a Saudi woman isn't allowed to drive a car or walk to the store unattended by a male relative, after 342 weeks of ignoring that the so-called prophet of Islam, Mohammed, gang banged a 9 year girl who he took as his wife at the age of 6 years old....after ALL of that time, you now break the silence, you break the ignorance and put up a report about the abuse of women by Jews in Israel? How can you look yourselves in the mirror? How can you even associate yourselves with women's and human rights? How can you even claim to be a journalistic entity?

Oh, that's right, I forgot. Your media rag is an outlet for anti-Semitism in America and that is what inspired you to publish this article. American women and girls are being slaughtered in honor killings by the madmen of Islam and you are outraged by a group of devout Jews half way across the world. Where was your article regarding the 3 month old baby girl from Israel whose 6 inch neck was sliced open by a 19 year old Palestinian terrorist? Where was your article about the Saudi woman who was flogged 90 times because she was raped? Where were your videos of the Egyptian women being kicked and beaten by Egyptian police and military? Where was your article regarding the Iranian girl protesting who was shot dead in cold blood by Iranian Basiji? Where was your article about the Egyptian cleric who said that removing a young girl's clitoris is commanded by Mohammed? Where was your article about Muslim women who are forced into burqas to cover their skin? Where was your article about the women and girls of Malmo, Sweden who cannot leave their homes at night for fear of rape by Muslim gangs?

Where is your reporting of the degradation, humiliation and slaughter of women by the Islamists of this world? Any American woman that continues to read your media site should be appalled by the cover up of what I have mentioned. And quite frankly, you should be ashamed for a journalistic pedigree that has appeased the torture of women in this world by the world's biggest cult of abusers. "

We all know that The Huffington Post is a dark den of progressives and now it can be revealed that they have no more regard for a woman's life than the Muslims who degrade that life each and every day.

Naama Margolese, Israeli Girl, Bullied By Jewish Ultra-Orthodox Extremists

BEIT SHEMESH, Israel — A shy 8-year-old schoolgirl has unwittingly found herself on the front line of Israel's latest religious war.

Naama Margolese is a ponytailed, bespectacled second-grader who is afraid of walking to her religious Jewish girls school for fear of ultra-Orthodox extremists who have spat on her and called her a whore for dressing "immodestly."

Her plight has drawn new attention to the simmering issue of religious coercion in Israel, and the increasing brazenness of extremists in the insular ultra-Orthodox Jewish community.

"When I walk to school in the morning I used to get a tummy ache because I was so scared ... that they were going to stand and start yelling and spitting," the pale, blue-eyed girl said softly in an interview with The Associated Press Monday. "They were scary. They don't want us to go to the school."

The girls school that Naama attends in the city of Beit Shemesh, to the west of Jerusalem, is on the border between an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood and a community of modern Orthodox Jewish residents, many of them American immigrants.

The ultra-Orthodox consider the school, which moved to its present site at the beginning of the school year, an encroachment on their territory. Dozens of black-hatted men jeer and physically accost the girls almost daily, claiming their very presence is a provocation.

Beit Shemesh has long experienced friction between the ultra-Orthodox, who make up about half the city's population, and other residents. And residents say the attacks at the girls' school, attended by about 400 students, have been going on for months. Last week, after a local TV channel reported about the school and interviewed Naama's family, a national uproar ensued.

The televised images of Naama sobbing as she walked to school shocked many Israelis, elicited statements of outrage from the country's leadership, sparked a Facebook page with nearly 10,000 followers dedicated to "protecting little Naama" and a demonstration was held Tuesday evening in her honor. As the case has attracted attention, extremists have heckled and thrown eggs and rocks at journalists descending on town.

"Who's afraid of an 8-year-old student?" said Sunday's main headline in the leading Yediot Ahronot daily.

Beit Shemesh's growing ultra-Orthodox population has erected street signs calling for the separation of sexes on the sidewalks, dispatched "modesty patrols" to enforce a chaste female appearance and hurled stones at offenders and outsiders. Walls of the neighborhood are plastered with signs exhorting women to dress modestly in closed-necked, long-sleeved blouses and long skirts.

Naama's case has been especially shocking because of her young age and because she attends a religious school and dresses with long sleeves and a skirt. Extremists, however, consider even that outfit, standard in mainstream Jewish religious schools, to be immodest.

"This is a phenomenon that contradicts Jewish tradition and the spirit of the Bible," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday evening, "with one of the most central and important among them being: Love your neighbor as yourself,"

Thousands of secular and religious Jews attended Tuesday evening's demonstration.

Protesters held signs reading, "Free Israel from religious coercion," and "Stop Israel from becoming Iran."

The abuse and segregation of women in Israel in ultra-Orthodox areas is nothing new, and critics accuse the government of turning a blind eye.

The ultra-Orthodox are perennial king-makers in Israeli coalition politics – two such parties serve as key members of the ruling coalition. They receive generous government subsidies, and police have traditionally been reluctant to enter their communities.

The ultra-Orthodox Jews make up 10 percent of Israel's population. In the past, they have generally confined their strict lifestyle to their own neighborhoods. But they have become increasingly aggressive in trying to impose their ways on others, as their population has grown and spread to new areas.

"It is clear that Israeli society is faced with a challenge that I am not sure it can handle," said Menachem Friedman, a professor emeritus of Bar Ilan University and expert on the ultra-Orthodox, "a challenge that is no less and no more than an existential challenge."

Most of Israel's secular majority, in cities like Tel Aviv and Haifa, is not directly affected, but in a few places like Beit Shemesh – a city of 100,000 people that include ultra-Orthodox, modern Orthodox and secular Jews – tensions have erupted into the open.

At the protest, Israeli opposition leader Tzipi Livni said, "It's not just Beit Shemesh and not just gender segregation, it's all the extremist elements that are rearing their heads and are trying to impose their world view on us."

Last week, a young Israeli woman caused a nationwide uproar when she refused a religious man's order to move to the back of a bus.

In Beit Shemesh, parents in Naama's school take turns escorting their daughters into school property to protect them. The parents, too, have been cursed and spat upon.

Hadassa Margolese, Naama's 30-year-old Chicago-born mother, an Orthodox Jew who covers her hair and wears long sleeves and a long skirt, says, "It shouldn't matter what I look like. Someone should be allowed to walk around in sleeveless shirts and pants and not be harassed."

City spokesman Matityahu Rosenzweig condemned the violence but said it is the work of a small minority and has been taken out of proportion. "Every society has its fringes, and the police should take action on this," he said.

For Margolese, the recent clashes – and the price of exposing her young daughter – boil down to a fight over her very home.

"They want to push us out of Beit Shemesh. They want to take over the city," said Margolese.

"Many people have asked me if I intend to leave," Margolese said at the rally Tuesday evening, "and my answer is absolutely not,"
